The quality depends on your TV, how many hz's it has. DVD has the same ''good'' quality on any nowaday TV but with Blu-Ray you also need an expensive TV to see the details.

@bigbaganime I used to feel the same way, a lot of people justify not spending the money as to why "bluray sux" but just like apple products which is proven just like bluray to be better, people don't have to buy it. But I use both now and had to sell stuff I own and wait for the prices to drop, but it's worth it. The Martrix is 5 bucks on bluray, and players are roughly the same. So yeah...price isn't the answer any more, but haters are gonna hate...

I didn't say I forbid myself from buying DVDs. I own DVDs as well. But only 2. I switched out most of my DVDs for Blu Rays. If I have a choice between DVD and Blu Ray I will choose Blu Ray because I think the improved Picture Quality is worth it.

This is a FAKE! I've seen the difference very well, but I forgot to switch to a higher resolution so I watched it in 360p (NTSC has a bit more resolution). xDD

DVD maximum particles is 720

Blu-ray has a maximum of 1080 particles

I stand by my innitial conclusion.. Blu ray is too sharp for film. For some films it works but most of the time it ruins the picture (especcialy films with loads of CGI). I do have Blu ray's though.. for the extras :P but when I watch Blu ray I turn the sharpness of my tv all the way down. Then it looks ok again =]
