the Yardbirds are miming and lip synching to the original 1965 record of this song in 1968 and Jimmy Page is acting like he's playing to Jeff Beck's guitar playing and solo.
@AvirtualSwitzerland no point really i just wanted to state that Jimmy was miming to the original record and Jeff Beck's guitar because alot of people didn't know that fact but i think and know that Jimmy Page is one of the greatest rock guitarists of all time and i don't want anyone to think i was dissing him or his playing.
@AvirtualSwitzerland yeah Beck is real talented but i've listened to alot more of Page with Zeppelin and they had alot of great songs too and I'm a big Clapton fan too.I like Clapton's playing and sound better on his Cream stuff than his solo guitar playing though.
Outstanding *video and song*, gentlemen. One of the most powerful, short, rock songs that I know! We can see the how much energy, and intelligence, was displayed here (!); and that would shortly be... transmuted to, and displayed in, the "New Yardbirds", later known as, Led Zeppelin.
If youre a guitar buff whos into the 60s, then bands like the Yardbirds or the Kinks are what to listen to because they put more emphasis on the guitars. The Rolling Stones would have one repititive riff on the electric guitar and a barely heard acoustic.
It's really weird/funny seeing Jimmy mime to an acoustic guitar using a not-even-plugged-in electric. The whoa-oh-oh background vox must be getting help from the cameramen.
@tomada36 I don't think so. Can't swear it but I think Beck and and Clapton were together for a time and that Beck and Page were for a time. Can't swear it though.
Page had a tough act to follow with BecK and Clapton. But he did a brilliant job - his dress style was fantastic - a real "Dandy".

Jimmy Played that same Telecaster on the whole first Led Zeppelin album. After that, it was mostly a Les Paul.

The least they could do is plug a cable into the guitars !

@rockinron40 Clapton AND Page both say Beck is light years ahead of anything they can play. I agree, but some of it is un-listenable.
