Combine the hi-hat with a constant rim-shot.

In the beginning it's got that "clickclickclick..." sound, but you ALSO hear a faint hi-hat in the background.

It's very tricky when you first try it, but it's so easy now when I play it.

That was pretty good. This was the second song I ever learned how to play. Keep playing it and as you get better you can add fills and cahnge up the beat. Almost anything you do will work with this song, as long as the timing is right.

I reckon it's easier playing open-handed and you can do quite alot more if your hands aren't crossed over e.g adding toms into a regular beat. And if you didn't notice...alot of people use headphones or a click track to keep in time. I don't see you putting any videos up so maybe you should keep your mouth shut.

every drummer has his way to play the drums bur in this song i rekon armes crossed because u see your left hand has a relly far way to go to the right cimbal so u need more time to move to the right cymbal and use more energy. and another thing the verse is played on the side of the floortom but its not that important.

Don't worry about the skins for now.... just focus on honing your skill for now. I've been told that I have a "nicely tuned kit"..... and I only have the drumheads that the kit came with and some damping rings. It's how you tune them more than anything, but I like to think of tuning drums as a fine art that takes practice. Do what I did and what some videos here on "How to Tune drums." it helped me a lot, and keep it up.
