What's the trick to this? How do you figure out chord progressions by ear????

Before being able to identify chord progressions by ear, you must learn to recognize the individual chord qualities (Maj, min, dim, aug, sus4, 7, etc.), and be able to identify intervals in order to figure what degrees are played. You can train both intervals and chord ID in EM. Once you have learned how to identify chords and intervals, it will be much easier for you to identify chord progressions.
