  • That's right take srv for example

  • Its one of the best semi hollow guitars out there , Hagstrom , i own a Hagstrom ultra select swede , nice job

  • I like that guitar, a lot....pretty sick.

  • haters gonna hate, players gonna play

  • @Guruwise You are a moron of colossal magnitude....

  • I love major 7 licks. They can be connected and played all over the neck in sweet rapid flurrys. Thanks bro'

  • If I were ever abducted by an alien and he wanted to know about the people of my planet, I'd direct him to YouTube where he would experience the full range of human expression-from articulate, thoughtful, compassionate people all the way down to those who provide a strong argument for mandatory sterilization.

  • @Guruwise There is a God and his name is the most high, Yahweh, Jehovah. the bible says without faith it's impossible to please him. So God does exist you just don't have any faith. You must have faith, Jesus came and died on the cross for our sins so we may have eternal life and your unbelief will send you straight to hell. I'm not judging you but I can't sugarcoat the truth either. If you want to accept Jesus in your life email me at murraykevin1989@yahoo.com

  • @guitarslim1989 please respect the opinions of atheists.

Religion is only slightly based on fact.

people need to believe in something.

no one can be positive they are right so please don't act like you are.

    Thank you.

  • The slow part does not match the fast part. You teach to play: B A G E D G E D C A G E D C slow, but then when you play fast, you go: B A G E D G E D C A D C A G E D C.

  • is this basically an a minor pentatonic run that resolves to a c?

  • @alapunk13 more like a aeolian but yes

  • who is the guy just sitting there, hanging out out? after its over he will be like.....hey man you wanna but me a sandwich or something? Can we hang out later? can I have a picture?

  • To be honest, it would have sounded much better if you had used C Lydian over C major 7. You just used a pentatonic/Blues hybrid, now how's that going to get people using modes over chords? My point is, yes pentatonic/blues can be used over any chord, major, minor, Maj7, min7, 9's, 11' etc. But people don't use the modes enough over chords, for example Dorian works great over a Minor 7 chord, but all rock guitarists do is blay the bloody blues scale.

  • im so happy seeing black cats still playing guitar and actually using their talents to teach and spread knowledge.. its a rarity in my opinion... all i see are white cats young and old tryin to the teach the blues or "soul".. and its just laughable.. true mockery.. but not truth. thanks guys for the tutorial..

  • @ElectricLadyT anyone can capture the "soul" of music and teach blues. no need for racism. music is for everyone.

  • @ElectricLadyT

So white people can't have soul? Fuck you. You don't have to be born black to enjoy playing blues based music.

  • Nice lick! There is a second hop that he didn't show when he slowed it down, when you hit the A note hop back up to the D note and then come down. Good stuff!

  • @Guruwise There is no athiest.

  • awesome love yall sites do you think you could show mw the chords to chicago mass i'm goin with jesus and mississippi mass i'm not tired yet . i play by ear to i have gotten so much just in your lessons already andre

  • sounds like ice cube ahaha

  • nice

  • man what a sweet lick !

  • can someone tell me what guitar this guy uses?

  • It's a Hagstrom. Unsure of model (a new one). I had an original Viking...great guitar.

  • It's a Hagstrom. Check their website. Used to be made in Sweden...great guitars.

  • It's a Hagstrom.

  • It's a Hagstrom

  • Sweet, clean sound. Like the way you all present it. Gonna check out your site to see if I can find any good turnaround chords for western swing. Thx

  • smooth as silk, those bad comments are just from no talents who think shreading is all you need to play..

  • hater

  • Fuck your video spam.

  • See the way he 'vibratos' when hes showing it slowly? It's a little ...off.

  • yeah its weird

  • Nice lick. I like the 4 note descending pattern starting on the 7th scale degree. Trying playing those four note groupings in triplets. It gives it and out sounding syncopated feel. Nice job.

  • Great stuff , thanks for posting .

  • Smart guy to play a riff, then showing it slowly in a different way, then playing it the first way fast again.

Notice that he jumps back up 2 times when he is playing fast, but only 1 time when showing it slowly. Smart guy

  • You're a bigot...this man is clearly showing us all the lick very slowly and precisley the same way he executes it fast. If you are just trying to be difficult, take your fustration out on practicing your instrument, instead of blogging silly, catty little comments.

  • R1ps1n

You are emotional , like a woman

  • thats way too advanced for me. But your so hot. seriously.

  • very pentatonic...very classic riff

  • nice sound

    thanks

  • how many strings are on that guitar

    ]

  • There are three, standard on all electric guitars, didn't you know that? It's obvious, just count the tuning pegs... 1... 2... 3... 4... 5... 3....

    So yeah 3.

  • Lmao 3

  • LOL" How does that sound, in a real world use...?"

    BEST. QUOTE. EVAR.

  • rofl 1:38

  • lol... i paused it at 138 and started laughing at that dudes face

thanks for the vids tho, seriously... god bless you you guys for not trying to market the gift of music

...i just wish you guys had more videos with random licks like this--maybe a little more advanced tho (just a little) and longer

also, it would be badass if you guys could like find some random song containing the the chords that the licks can be played over so we can practice them

  • not try to market the gift of music? people gotta eat too. And if you can do that with what you already love doing (music) then go for it. If it werent for 'marketing the gift of music', we wouldnt have all the great stuff that we do to listen to--from blues to pop and everything in between and beyond

  • not trying to market the gift of music??.... what are you talking about??.... that's exactly what they're doing!!

  • Your guitar sounds good man. Nice lick too.

  • Dude, why did you even have to say that?

  • u god damn chode. it doesnt matter what race. he good

  • Racist.

  • Actually, your race can greatly effect the way you play guitar. Sometimes your race will give off good traits, or bad traits.

  • That's funny you fucking prick.

  • i'd say stupid

  • That's why I called him a fucking prick.

  • go play with your dick

  • blessed be the peacemaker

hey it offends me just as much as you guys, but you make things worse by cursing him out and putting even more nasty posts for people to read

then he wins... do you see?

  • sounds like stairway to heaven, kind off O.o

  • yeah it sounds like the very first notes of the solo

  • cool lick, especially the last two. It sounded like another pentatonic lick at first, but against the two chords you played... that should be the first thing you hear when you click on the vid, imo.

  • dude.. you forgot the C - D after the A, then u go back to A

  • Why is it such a secret that most guitar players Don't want you to know ? I've known it for years

  • i really like this scale... nice and easy to learn as well

  • nice lick love the axe too

  • Jairus Mozee is a really good player. Hear and play just put a title that's too outlandish.

  • Very Nice

  • its the stairway to heaven solo...or, at least very similar!

  • That C-Maj. chord at 1:30 and A-minor chord at 1:34 sounds REALLY nice. Is this in standard tuning?

  • i wish i was that good.

  • i wish i was that fool too!

  • best video on youtube!!!! very instructional. i show all of my guitar students this video and make them practice it everyday. thank you!

  • isn't that just on the A blues scale? (not sure but just wondering)

  • it's C Major pentatonic scale...which is almost like the A blues scale but you start from the second note (minor third)

  • thats nothin man, just a simple scale type og thing...ahh..no manches!!

  • When you showed it note-per-note, you missed 2 notes: D and C on the G string after you strike A on the D string. Besides, anyone who has played the "Stairway to Heaven" solo knows this "secret" lick.

  • WHAT!?! lol, sorry man, im Greek, so maybe i misunderstood that. Greeks make pretty good music, and the Bazouki players are like virtuoso guitar players.

But yeah, everyone has the blues, EVEN IF YOU DONT PLAY ANYTHING, you can still have the blues. Therefore, emos are baasically over-emotional bluesmen (doesnt mean i like emo music).

Just because black people started blues, dont mean they're the only ones that can play it.

  • tru man, its like latin, doesnt mean they are the only ones...anyone who puts their passion to it can play whatever.

  • A few years ago I was taking music lessons and the teacher talked alot about the Greeks and music theory. Thats why I said that. I wanted to learn music and my teacher wanted me to know how the Greeks contributed to music theory. It was very important to him.

  • what type of guitar is that?

  • Hagström :)

  • your good

  • Thanks, that's awesome, this lick helps :)

  • I'm a guitar player and damn I'm pissed that you told the little people about the secret lick. :-p

    Great Job

  • Hey! My name is Jaress! And I play guitar too!

  • lol

  • don't forget reggae

  • stairway to heaven solo :P

  • nice

  • wow....can we say ADAVANCED LEARNING!!!...

My main problem is learning the Notes, what would you guys recommend to do tto learn the notes and identify em.?

  • Just learn where all the E notes are for about a week, then try different notes on different days etc...

It's a bit of a pain at first but really helps when finding new chords or interesting intervals when soloing.

  • i found learning movable chords and their roots to be a good way to learn the fretboard.

  • I have been trying to play guitar for a long time and i'm just not getting it fully. I don't know why, I try everything. I am not good at mathematics, could there be a link between the two? I will try this and see. Nice guitar.

  • this lesson is for beginners..

  • learn it then

  • dude this is the basics :S

  • check out his other clips for advanced stuff. Jairus is amazing.

  • Aren't you forgetting two notes? From A to D - C in the middle?

  • your level of skill can not be taught, youve gota be a natural.

  • lol it's a scale.

  • im sure it is :)

  • Beautiful lick! My hubby plays lead and will really enjoy this course... thanks HearandPlay!

  • These clips are awesome! I took a semester guitar class in college and my instructor taught us a lot but from these clips, I can tell that I'm going to learn a whole lot more than I ever did from that class. Can't wait to see this new product. Thanks for posting. God bless! :-)
