@Onifos nope. The asgard are a much older race then the Goa'uld, they were one of the 5 races, when the Ancients were still around (like 10.000 years ago).
According to Stargate: SG-1, the Goa'uld used Una hosts in the beginning. What we see in the "flashover" scene is probably a degraded Una. Goa'uld cannot exend their hosts life indefinetly, but the Unas, as a race, developed a genetic protection against the parasites, so that's why Ra was forced to find another host race.

@arielneobuda. That alien you see is an Unas, the first hosts, with a Gouald parasite inside it. Of course it wasnt intended that way by the original movie's makers, but its one way to reconcile the TV series with the original movie.

The rebellion on Earth was a one in a million thing, an exception rather than a rule so I doubt they were used to dealing with such things and he did crush any hints of such things when he saw the signs. Perhaps he left that stuff there to weed out thoes smart enough to use it to either kill or convert them.

Stargate is real underrated masterpiece with unique storyline, visual effects and acting. James Spader was perfect for this film - believable and really phenomenal acting. Kurt Russell, Viveca Lindfors, Alexis Cruz, Erick Avari and Mili Avital did a great job too. The 90's were really the Best era. Other underrated SCI-FI films of that era - Lawnmower Man, Alien 3, Virtuosity, Space Truckers, FutureSport, RoboCop 2, The Time Shifters, The Arrival, Mimic, Sphere

I'm sure that those who saw the show and saw the movie would be confused about Ra's true alien form. Well I did a little digging and found out that the alien form we saw in the movie was actually an Asgard that Ra was using as a host, and that Asgard was freed from Ra's control when he came to Earth and took a human body.

@CIarKent, I know how most people feel rather wary about it, but I find wikis to be very reliable. Look up Ra's profile on the Stargate Wiki and you'll find answers.

Ra could have done his own genetic manipulation and or combined himself with other species in order to try to become immortal before he found the goauld.

BTW sharks & dolphins both share many physical characteristics such as fins, flippers, etc. This doesn't mean they are one and the same.

it's possible that they were originally dying out because of the same Plague that killed off many of the Ancients and wiped out life in the milky way galaxy.
we know that the goauld symbiots can cure the plague so that's how Ra saved himself, while the other Asgard later saved themselves by cloning earlier uninfected versions of themselves

Stargate is real underrated masterpiece with unique storyline, visual effects and acting. James Spader was perfect for this film - believable and really phenomenal acting. Kurt Russell, Viveca Lindfors, Alexis Cruz, Erick Avari and Mili Avital did a great job too. The 90's were really the Best era. I'm sure that those who saw the show and saw the movie would be confused about Ra's true alien form. Well I did a little digging and found out that the alien form we saw in the movie was actually an Asgard that Ra was using as a host, and that Asgard was freed from Ra's control when he came to Earth and took a human body.

Ra could have done his own genetic manipulation and or combined himself with other species in order to try to become immortal before he found the goauld.
it was said he came from a dying race (like the asgard) and his appearance is a lot like the asgard (grey, big head, big black eyes, and so on)

The film implies Ra's species were in their death throes when Ra left to find a way to save himself, while the series shows the Asgard have just begun to go down a downward spiral in modern times.
BTW sharks & dolphins both share many physical characteristics such as fins, flippers, etc. This doesn't mean they are one and the same.

they started dying out a lot sooner and cloning just delayed the inevitable.
it's possible that they were originally dying out because of the same Plague that killed off many of the Ancients and wiped out life in the milky way galaxy.
we know that the goauld symbiots can cure the plague so that's how Ra saved himself, while the other Asgard later saved themselves by cloning earlier uninfected versions of themselves
