  • 85% of the current whole New Age beliefs can be heard and seen in this dialogue, talk about a world of TV Hypnotised Simpletons!

  • @kryckeestrooff - It was / is science fiction that borrows loosely from ancient mythology AND Erich von Daniken's " Ancient Astronauts ", " Gods From Outer Space " pseudo - science yadda - yadda. I wouldn't take it seriously like a History Channel / Nat'l Geographic - type documentary.

  • The concept of his whole race becoming extinct strongly suggests Ra had taken an Asgard host. Afterall Goa'uld knowledge would have been insufficient to maintain a degrading Asgard host.

  • @Onifos nope. The asgard are a much older race then the Goa'uld, they were one of the 5 races, when the Ancients were still around (like 10.000 years ago).

According to Stargate: SG-1, the Goa'uld used Una hosts in the beginning. What we see in the "flashover" scene is probably a degraded Una. Goa'uld cannot exend their hosts life indefinetly, but the Unas, as a race, developed a genetic protection against the parasites, so that's why Ra was forced to find another host race.

  • @theNimos I know the Asgard are older. My whole thinking was "if Asgard technology failled to beat the problem, makes sense Goa'uld technology never ever could". Plus I'd always thought for some reason Ra was so far ahead because he had been the one to 'discover Asgard knowledge'. Thanks for clarifying.

  • Nice escene

  • I assume in SG1 its a re-write that Ra was just another Goa'uld and that the possessed body from an alien is a legend that leads to to believe why Ra has the glowing eyes :)

  • i lov ethe whole stargate universe best sci-fy show ever

  • i watched this movie and tv show. man who came up with this is a genius. i love stargate :P

  • @MegaLittleBrain nobody "came up with it" That's the thing.

  • reptillians

  • He walked tords the light ,huh ?

    illuminate !!

  • Ra never was goa´uld in the movie.

  • @arielneobuda. That alien you see is an Unas, the first hosts, with a Gouald parasite inside it. Of course it wasnt intended that way by the original movie's makers, but its one way to reconcile the TV series with the original movie.

  • @DJmixmastermicro ok. but dean explaind in the books of stargate the origins the alien Ra. he is aSETIM that from SET he is the last of his race.

  • @arielneobuda yes but that is totally unconnected to the tv series which actually had more of an impact over a decade. compared to the movie. so you can either ignore one or the other, or try to reconcile the stories. i think its better to reconcile them. otherwise look what they did with the new star trek

  • @DJmixmastermicro I'm all for ignoring the TV crap. SG-1 was only good because of the cast anyway and now we don't have that anymore. A proper Stargate 2 yes plz.

  • More informative than the history channel, evidently.

  • James Spader makes my giney tickle

  • @roadjam lol your trollin right

  • this movie was ahead of it's time

  • I love Stargate, from the movie right through to Gauntlet!

  • wtf all seeing eye

  • Let's hear it for the sun god: Ra! Ra! Ra!!!

  • @TBlockFilmer in the series canon yes but in the film canon, the gou'ald, asgard etc don't exist. ra was a humanoid alien the last of his kind

  • Ra is not goaul´d. that is only for series tv. really the goauld suck. I want sequels the original movies with hathor. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @arielneobuda i hear theres plans to make sequels based on this film and the novels, ignoring the gou'ald and stargate sg 1 stuff

ra was a humanoid alien whose species was dying, he was not a snake like parasite. ra put his soul and his consciouness in to the boy hence why you see ra's alien face at the end etc

  • @jopeon1983 i love the movie and the T.V series.. i would love the see a squeal to this as is, both movie and T.V series can easily co exist.

  • This film is 90% truth

  • so this would explain the Goa'uld

  • @punkerdave01 no the gou'ald don't exist in the film's universe, ra built the stargate and was a humanoid alien

  • Why is everyone talking about anus?

  • this aint stargate this is a fake thing that is shit as fuk get ur head out i like stargate these no point killin it fukk off u fake dickss urkillinitfo every one

  • @987handley wat

  • @987handley Heeeeeey. This is the **ORIGINAL** your tv-shows are based off of *THIS*.

  • Ra looks like Asgard.

  • @Mithandune he is a aged unas

  • Sure miss not having Stargate on tv or movies. really sucks.

  • @usaeagle1776 The only thing that really made it watchable was near the end where Kurt Russell delivers the best line in the movie: "Give my regards to King Tut, ASSHOLE!"

  • Also: If Ra outlawed reading and writing to prevent a rebellion on this planet, and no one had rebelled on the planet yet, exactly why the hell... (1) Did he leave this stone intact (2) Let a person from this desert planet become a historical cartographer.

For a smart alien, the guy's pretty over-trusting. I mean he really expected his people to follow his orders without question RIGHT AFTER a rebellion on earth?

  • @Blackchain119 :well, the ego of Go'uld was beyond egotisical to pathological. the key to there're eventual defeat.

  • @usaeagle1776 Fair enough. I didn't personally think the story was on the top of most movies, but you can tell they had some fun with it. Plus it has Kurt Russell.

  • @Blackchain119 : true. fun movie to watch, but like you pointed out, some inconsistancies for sure.

  • @usaeagle1776 Still fun to watch for sure!

  • @Blackchain119 :yes! I hope they will produce more one day.

  • @Blackchain119 Well as someone stated above the G'ould were massive egotists and weren't really used to being questioned or defied. The rebellion on Earth was a one in a million thing, an exception rather than a rule so I doubt they were used to dealing with such things and he did crush any hints of such things when he saw the signs. Perhaps he left that stuff there to weed out thoes smart enough to use it to either kill or convert them.

  • @LibraGamesUnlimited the gou'ald don't exist in the film and novel based on the film . ra was a humanoid alien from a dying race. stargate sg 1 invented the serpents.

  • @jopeon1983 yeah but Ra was also an egoist himself so the theory implies

  • @Blackchain119 I always got the impression that he just didn't know about that bit of writing, that it had been done in secret, and the humans on Abydos just secretly passed the knowledge of reading and writing down from generation to generation to keep the knowledge alive.

  • @usaeagle1776 check out firefly i thought the same as you but firefly i think is better and has a movie aswell

  • @Galwaybanana i have seen that. not bad. movie was pretty good too.

  • @usaeagle1776 so what ur saying is that u miss the time when stargate didnt exist ? ^^

  • @Frostiedkdk say what? I MISS STARGATE NOT BEING ON TV!

  • Ra was an interdemensional soul of a deceased ancient race. Fucking sereis screwed up EVERYTHING. you wanna know what happens AFTER stargate? read the five sequels by Bill McCay.

  • @eyeaboveall yep and hopefully sequels will be made to the film, ignoring the tv series

  • So Ra was a grey?

  • @sdgsdgsdgsd3 he was a dieing unas

  • NO ME GUSTA LA SERIE, PARA QUE DIABLOS LA HICIERON? NO TIENE NADA QUE VER...

    ME GUSTA LA PELICULA ^^

  • The Mask is Clearly of a Blackman's Face...

  • the series contricdics the first film

  • wait...so the stargate was actully a time machine the whole time?

  • Skaa`ra AHHHHH I love him!

  • Hahahaha all shit story!!!

  • James Spader rock. Specially in Boston Legal.

  • NIBIRU planeh HIHIHI HAHAHA

  • I wonder if an Asgard killed the Goa'Uld Ra and take his Jaffa... no it don't make sence, the movie and the series are seperate continuities.

But if he was an Asgard playin' a Goa'Uld that would be cool, because not all of they people are good like those Dark Asgards from SGA, and would be a great plot twist in the story, they passed the entire time thinkin' he was a System Lord when was actually an Asgard in disguise with fake Jaffa (that would explain why they don't have symbionts). :D

  • Natural Goa'uld Voice -No Voice Synthesizer: watch?v=p1gpNM3AbYE

  • I cant take Ra seriously in this movie. i mean, he looks like Pauley Shore. He needs to just stick with his egyptian alien mask. Whenever i see him i laugh

  • Awesome!

  • embed??? please

  • Actually, you know even though he looks like an Asgard, it would make sense that it was an Unas.

  • @jwrocks on stargate wikia, it says ra's previous host is an asgard called famrir. apparently this is relatively new information from a stargate rpg.

  • @jwrocks I agree with you. If we want to connect the movie with the series, we must conclude it was a Goa'uld Unas.

  • I love the show but they took away what Roland Emerick had in mind doing all these newer shows ( StargateSG1, and Stargate Atlantis)

the movie has an air of mystory to it that makes it better

  • Ra is also known as Marduk, son of Enki.

  • I love stargate, i love egypt, i love space. I generally love my life right now

  • @meDJSIRIUS Then you must be in space, because Egypt is no fun now.

  • @1027sterling hmmm. Then i just return to egypt when all that mess is over

  • @meDJSIRIUS me too. muuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuch

  • @meDJSIRIUS YES!!! I mean why did they end SGA and SGU was bad in the start but when you start to like it and forget all the shit with SGA the close SGU to damn i loved my life when i bought the box SG-1 and saw the whole series for the first time ;)

  • @unknowna2 what they should have done was finish off SGA properly closing all the plot holes, that would have given them the time to fine tune SGU, i agree with you by the end of it, it was getting better, but the first and most of second season were horrible, LT bangs Sarg at start of show, then he bangs senators daughter, Rush wants to bang his girl threw another girls body, Rush programs VR world to bang his girl, the boy genius finally gets laid and wants to VR bang his girl too. sums it up.

  • @Baseshocks You seem to be focusing really heavily on what very little sex there was in the show for some reason. Are you sexually frustrated? xD

  • @01000001011100100111 and you must be one of them fanboys who can not handle it if someone does not like universe. It was pointless sex... Do you like watching soap operas.. thats pretty much what the first season was all about... Lesbian scene on earth, pointless to the show their to add bs drama. The affair with the Capts wife... and much more... are you ok when someone criticizes your favorite show that was canceled or do you need a tissue.

  • @Baseshocks Knee-jerk straw-men arguments. You're attacking points I haven't even made, and critiquing aspects of the show that don't even exist. Rabid hater? I think so. Bye bye looney toon!

  • @01000001011100100111 my point exactly, you cant handle someone talking about the show, i pointed out out a few things i did not like, i could add tons more but they limit how much you type and id fill up the whole page. i stated that they should have worked on it more and it got better by the end of the second season. they are not attacking points it is criticism i did like the show in the end. its soo funny the kind of people that SU attracts...

  • @Baseshocks You're confused. I couldn't care less if you like the show or not. I never even attempted to refute anything you said. I just made an observation based on your seeming obsession with the few short sex scenes that there are in the show, which I found comical. The bizarre reaction and diatribe to those comments have only added to the laughs. Thanks :)

  • @01000001011100100111 it was meant to make people laugh, how am i obsessed it was meant as a joke and also pointing out meaningless BS in the show. me diatribe? noooo, i am answering your questions calmly. You on the other hand seemed to be stressed with soo much anger and sarcasm. if you do not care that i do not like the show why the attacks on me?

  • @Baseshocks "and you must be one of them fanboys who can not handle it if someone does not like universe."

    Hmm...

  • @meDJSIRIUS - Right on my brother , right on and light on !!! :)

  • lol

  • 0:47 - What kind of creature is that and do we see their kind again in the TV seires?

  • @subgrv27 its the Asgard.

  • @Litzen2k ra take asgard host 1st? and then human host?

  • @lpl94 It most be so, because the race shown is "alien" Asgard and they are known for body failure because of there years of cloning(You get to know this in the SG1 series, dont remember episode)

  • @Litzen2k The movie is in semi-canon in the series verse, Ra was a Goa'uld like any other, he didn't take an Asgard for a host, and the Goa'uld didn't exist in the movie canon.

  • @01000001011100100111 You most agree that the "host" we see its very identic with an asgard.

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

  • @subgrv27 It's an Asgarian with a Goa'Uld inside of it.

  • @SlippyMcSlipknot or it's a grey alien (like un ufology) I think

  • @MishaMiou It could be if you don't think Stargate-ish

  • @SlippyMcSlipknot ok lol

  • @SlippyMcSlipknot you said It's an Asgarian with a Goa'Uld inside of it. that is false. because the original movie dean devlin a emerich have other ideas for sequels movie. in the series tv that is god but the Ra never was goa´uld in the movie.

  • @arielneobuda I read and all i can see is blablablablabla, how do i learn ur goa uld shiet man?!?!?

  • Natural Goa'uld Voice -No Voice Synthesizer: watch?v=p1gpNM3AbYE

  • Best movie of all time. Now they have ended sg-1 and atlatis, and now universe is in danger of being stoped only after this second season. Dang idiots.

  • @outbackjack1974 good riddans to that awfull series.

  • @wicNKWD37 you talking about all three shows, or just the last one? shame on you.

  • @outbackjack1974 the last one.

  • @wicNKWD37 have you watched all of the episodes so far? I did not like it for the first two or three, mainly becuause I missed Atlantis & SG-1 so much. But I got used to the last one, and enjoyed it. But now I'm starting to regret getting into it because I belive season 2 will be the last of it also. What is wrong with these idiots makeing these shows? They have million and millions of fans. They suck us in then blow us off. so to speak, lol

  • @outbackjack1974 Ive watched most of them. but they dont "talk" to me(or my mom). Ive followed the stargate series since I was 9. each episode had that feeling of adventure, the quest for what is behind the next corner. universe is just a dull boring show. only Rush fits in the stargate fiction.

  • @wicNKWD37 Yeah with out rush it would be even more pointless to watch.

  • That chick is hot.

  • Great movie!

  • 1.29 NO NEVER WALK TOWARDS TO LIGHT!!! WHY DOES EVERYONE WALK TOWARDS THE LIGHT??? NO GOOD EVER COMES FROM IT!!!

  • Always consider the source.

  • why is it that nearly every other fucking video of this movie has stupid music playing over it this is the only video with out music

  • @migueljonesdiaz Init!

  • so ra was a gou'ld in another alien species

  • oh wait... religion

  • One of the greatest scenes in the movie.

  • I need to watch this movie again, such a great film.

  • It has become clear that many here have strayed from the path of Hammond into the darkness of the shol'va Teal'c.

BE NOT THAT THE GREAT HAMMOND HAS BBQ THE SOL’VA FOR THEE? ONLY UPON THY EAT OF THE TEAL’CBURGER SHALL YOU TASTE FREEDOM!

Hammond is kind and blesses those who follow. Thou who do not is welcome to his BBQ, but they will be for to eat. They will be eat as the shol’va Teal’c is eated. Will you accept His offering, and feast upon the Teal'cburger?

AH, BLESS HAMMOND, FOR HE IS POWER.

  • @kreetallHammond

    LOL! Teal'cburger! Made me LMAO!

  • This and The Patriot are Emmerich's ONLY GOOD films.

  • The best movie of this director.

  • i love this movie

  • If Alien Ra is an Asgard then Jaws is a goddamned dolphin.

Screw the retcons and fanwanks. Accept the the film and series for what they are - distinct, seperate continuities.

  • the bible in a nut shell !

  • which is better the movie or the tv show series

  • Nothing personal Richard D. Anderson but either your acting sucks or the script does.

Kurt Russell-O´neill has an understanding of military dicipline but Richard D. Anderson-O´neill doesn´t even know what military is.

SG-1 series could have been so much more.

  • @Maverick110290 RDA was given an award by the USAF for his portrayal of an air force colonel.

  • @Maverick110290 the reason other stargate series suck is because its got too much of that stern bullshit, stargate sg1 was epic until anderson left, he was humor but he showed skill, the jack o neil of the movie is cool but tiresome, i couldn't handle 5 seasons of that shit and most other people probably couldn't either...unless they were in the military or something

  • @Maverick110290 maybe but a lot boringer. think about it if anderson play the russel part of o'neil. it juist depressing to watch every week.

  • I think the movies are one universe and the show is an alternate take.

  • this one is old

  • Love the movie, hate the TV show. Too much death and ressurection. And no James Spader...

  • I'm sure that those who saw the show and saw the movie would be confused about Ra's true alien form. Well I did a little digging and found out that the alien form we saw in the movie was actually an Asgard that Ra was using as a host, and that Asgard was freed from Ra's control when he came to Earth and took a human body.

  • @RexBlazer1 but didnt he turn back into the asgard right before he blew up at the end

  • @taabuu2342 my theory is that Ra was originally not a gould but an Asgard. he looked for a way to extend his life so he found the symbiots which could extend life and added naquada to it to make it more powerful and then implanted it to himself, his mind merging with that of the symbiot and be became the first goald. later he found Earth and wanted to take a human as a host to live even longer. but because he was really an asgard he had to merg his original body with the human body

  • @CIarKent That makes complete sense

  • my theory is that Ra was originally not a goauld but an Asgard (50,000 years ago).

he looked for a way to extend his life so he found the symbiots which could extend life and added naquada to it to make it more powerful and then implanted it to himself, his mind merging with that of the symbiot and he became the first goauld. later he found Earth and wanted to take a human as a host to live even longer. but because he was really an asgard he had to merg his original body with the human body

  • @CIarKent, I know how most people feel rather wary about it, but I find wikis to be very reliable. Look up Ra's profile on the Stargate Wiki and you'll find answers.

  • @CIarKent If only the Asgard had weird reptilian mouths with razor-sharp teeth and pronounced brow ridges with a small third eye in the centre ...

  • @DuracellEnergizer the Asgard changed a lot because of their genetic manipulation. this was shown in the episode "revelation" where an asgard from 30,000 years ago appeared. Ra could have done his own genetic manipulation and or combined himself with other species in order to try to become immortal before he found the goauld.

it was said he came from a dying race (like the asgard) and his appearance is a lot like the asgard (grey, big head, big black eyes, and so on)

  • @CIarKent "it was said he came from a dying race (like the asgard) and his appearance is a lot like the asgard (grey, big head, big black eyes, and so on)"

The film implies Ra's species were in their death throes when Ra left to find a way to save himself, while the series shows the Asgard have just begun to go down a downward spiral in modern times.

BTW sharks & dolphins both share many physical characteristics such as fins, flippers, etc. This doesn't mean they are one and the same.

  • @DuracellEnergizer yes because that was before they started using cloning.

they started dying out a lot sooner and cloning just delayed the inevitable.

it's possible that they were originally dying out because of the same Plague that killed off many of the Ancients and wiped out life in the milky way galaxy.

we know that the goauld symbiots can cure the plague so that's how Ra saved himself, while the other Asgard later saved themselves by cloning earlier uninfected versions of themselves

  • @CIarKent Just as there's no point in trying to resolve all the discrepancies between the various "Highlander" films & series, there's no point in trying to resolve the discrepancies between the "Stargate" film & series. They are two seperate, distinct continuities and should be treated as such.

  • @CIarKent It was an Unas.

  • its the same thing that lady gaga sings. Ra Ra ooo la la ga ga

  • Satan. its the same eye on the back of your dollar bill yall need to wake up!

  • No more jokes.Hey !Jack!

  • his name was Marduk, not "Ra". Then again he also had 50 other names...

  • @ShaoPrawn wasnt Marduk the son of RA?

  • i hope they make the other 4 sequels to the film and disregard the crap tv series

they wrote the sequels and movie as a series as novel but only the first became a movie

  • @jopeon Did you read the books? If so, what happened at the end of the series?

  • thats because those mutant sg-1 freaks are to dumb to understand the movie and the series are completely unrelated

in the film ra was the last of his race and a humanoid alien who transferd his soul into the egyptian boy according to the novel cos his own body was dying

  • @jopeon actually man the show said that ra wanted only the people of that world to think he was the only one of his kind so that he could be the only one worshiped.stargate gate as a whole is pretty good if you pay attention to details

  • Love the Unas Ra had when he came to Earth.

  • @dmkavidelly Wait, how do you know it was a Unas?

  • is not unas, is an asgard host. Look at stargate wikia

  • @PanzerKonigstiger It was not an Asgard or an Unas.

The movie and series are seperate.

The look of the Goa'uld in the movie vs the look of the Goa'uld in the series are just different concepts.

  • @ZKY2 What is a Goa'uld, an Asgard and an Unas? Im new to Stargate and anything star wars and i am trying to learn the story. If you can help, thank you I would really appreciate it. I find it fascinating.

  • @Joel0277 Most of those things popped up in the spin off TV-series Stargate SG1. At last check a lot of the episodes were on Hulu.

  • @Joel0277

Goa uld is a parsite that take control over its host

asgard is a tiny grey alien its haw tiny legs and arms

unas is a big and strong alien

  • look for stargate on google earth... ( cheyenne
