My Grandma, Louisa Verano, came from Gib. She was evacuated during WW2 whilst it was being used as an army and naval base. I finally got the chance to visit Gib when she was still alive back in 2008, and I vividly remember calling her and speaking to her from on top of the rock. So now, every time I travel back to Gib, I feel like I can be with her in spirit again.

Whilst I may only be a third Gibraltarian, I consider Gib to be my home from home. I love it.

Special place, Gib. With my expat parents we used to call in there on our way to & from Tanganyika/Tanzania on bi-annual leave. They also have an incredible history, not least the WW2 bombing by axis forces, the digging of the tunnels, & the evacuation of the people. We still visit, & love the rock & its people dearly. i lived there as a kid in the 90s, and i wish i could go back too. lived on the rock for 4 years, the best 4 years of my childhood. i'm in my 20s now and i'm going back this summer, can't wait! it meant so much to me

having lived there myself i can tell you it's not for everyone - you can't walk down main street without seeing at least 5 people you know, it can be a little claustrophobic. Having said that the people are really lovely, if you can handle the gossip!!
