Could Someone tell me the tweaks that need to be made i can see some things in the description i dont know what sync hacks are and i have a Radeon 6970 and an AMDx6 and i only get 30 fps in this game im just tryin to get 50 and this dude is gettin an easy 50 how did you do it.
@Siska0Robert Most likely not, my Laptop has 8gb of RAM, 3gb Graphical memory, 2.0ghz (boost up to 2.9 ghz) and i can barely get 30-40 fps, gotten up to 50 and nearly 60 fps for a while when messing around with the settings but i dont think you will be able to run it :/
for people who dont work try to enable skip frame constant 2 draw 2 skip, for me: from 10-14fps to 24-30 fps but it looks a bit wierd ( sorry for bad language)
Hello, just a fast question. I get this game and the emulator. All work fine, but I get a maximum of 60 fps and when the game slow down to 35 fps, the game goes slow aswell. I mean, isnt just the fps, all become slow, even the sounds and music (like slow motion). I dont get what option could solve that and can be nice if you could help me please. @stephenTcartwright I updated the emulator with all plugins. I get better results changing the renderer plugin. Just test and see. Anyway, this video is fake. He have activated the skip frames, wich makes the game faster skiping frames, so instead of rendering 60 fps, is rendenring 30fps but fraps shows more. Thats all ;)
@kitsune0video Frame skipping means it skips a certain amount of frames in order to ease the game along and put less stress on the system. It can still render at 60 fps, and Fraps is a screen recorder. If the game is rendering 30 fps, Fraps is recording a game at 30 fps. You can't record something that's not there.

Wich mean that if you skip 1 of 2 frames, youa ctually are seeing the image at 30 fps even if it shows 60 fps. BTW, fraps insti recoring there, just showing fps if you didnt noticed.

Is like if you record a game at 5 fps with fraps and watch a the video later encoded at 30 fps. Fraps will show 30 fps, but the game still runs at 5. Same happen with framme skipping, it dont show the real fps, just the one that that is processed, but not the one the game is running because fraps cant detect it runs at lower fps using frame skipping. If you dont wanna trust is ok.
hey, I just downloaded this emulator, and downloaded a torrent which contained a DAT. file which is the biggest one obviously is the game apart from all other files, anyways I couldn't find a way to make it work on the emulator, any help?
@bigjankec your processor has 2.7 ghtz which is pretty good, but for the emu, you might want to learn to overclock it to at least 3.0, the video card is not that important so the one you have will do just fine and 2 gb ram i great,,, so yeah, give it a shot, you might get 45-50 fps on low spec games... if you overclock it it will be awesome =D

@iMiseryExe The gaphics card is pretty weak and the processor is a little slow. But i've seen miracles done with emulators so why don't you just try it and see what happens?
@Nimerbushnaq three options: 1: you need to rise the Vcore and cooling better that thing. 2: your motherboard isn't stable enough or has affinity problems ( for example, with MSI P35 neo the maximun stable was 3250Mhz, but when i change the motherboard to Asus P5Q-E i get over 3550Mhz stable). 3: your cpu has the FSB wall at 2.9Ghz, nothing can do with that.
lol, i just found the obvious speedhack for the game. just tried it and the game is at perfect speed. at the pcsx2 menu click on config>Speed Hacks> click Use x3 Cycle Rate. the description says works for Shadow of the Colossus, crashes other games.
I've looked all over the place for a way to get rid of that, but I have not found any mention. I think everyone unfortunately has to deal with that lousy thing (as far as I've seen).

This game is so fucking epic man, it gives yu a huge sense of accomplishment after you take down a colossus. The storyline doesnt make much sense and if you get stuck in water, it takes ages to get out. Other than those, epic game man. Love the music as well
the story is simple, you posses a sword that slays the colossus(the way it was presented it seems that wander stole it..assuming that is..) anyways wander asks dormin if he can ressurect the female girl. inorder to do that he has to kill them. while slaying the colossus the man tracking wander and the female finally arrives. without the game explaining it is obvious that wander and the female did something to piss them off. anyways after defeating all of them dormin takes control and resurrects
nope dormin is more like a trapped god/devil(they dont tell you if hes a good guy or a bad guy)

Damn, i have a e8400 core2duo 3.0ghz and an Ati HD4890 OC and windows vista 64bit, but i dont understand why i only play over 10fps or very slowly. Do you had a special configuration??
I have quadcore and it still runs slow but if I look at my processor usage its not even at 50% for any of the cores. Dolphin runs a bit slow but at least its maxing out 2 Cores. I assumed it was the emulator but after seeing this im not so sure. Have you had any luck since trying to get full speed?
PCSX2 doesnt support quad core anyway, it will only use 2 cores from your processor. And I dont think dolphin supports quad core processor's either, that's why only 2 cores are maxed out on it

Yeas but the games aren't optimized for PC. That why they run like crap. If you put a PC game emulator on a Xbox it would run like shit and vice versa.

@pratyakshprabhat675 the emulator is not the problem, you have an i5, that means 4 cores right?
when it comes to emulating the ps2 you only use 2 cores... so you have 2.5... which is good for pc games, for pcsx2 not so much, need at least 3.0, learn to overclock it and you'll do just fine... one more thing
you can try SOFTWARE MODE on the video settings and set multithreading to 4 or 8.. you may get 60fps but the video won't look too good
Actually, I wouldn't bother using the discs themselves, making an ISO of your own games generally allows for *much* better loading times on most games (much quicker to read from your HDD than a DVD).
Use programs like Alcohol 120% or ImgBurn to make ISO's of your own games.
I tried emulating this game but my computer runs it at like, half speed, even with everything set to make it easier. I'm not a pirate by the way, I have the actual game.
PS2 games are ripped into ISO's, not ROM's. Where did I get my 'ISO'? I ripped the game myself because I bought the damn thing. Why would you buy the PS2 game so you can rip the iso off of it to EMULATE on? I like how you didn't mention to part of "getting your own PS2". The whole point of this is to play the game on your PC, aka, without a PS2 and the actual PS2 game.
You can excuse emulating NES as not being able to get the system, but not PS2 when it is readily available. So basically, you look down on other people for not having the actual game while ignoring the fact that emulation means not having the console.
Emulation to me doesn't mean not having the console, it's to save you from having 12 different consoles hooked up to your TV. Playing on your computer means reducing clutter, loading times, using alternate controllers (play a PS2 game with a 360 controller), and if you have a strong enough computer, far better graphics.
Kids that use it for piracy (playing games you don't own for free) are cancer and give emulation a bad name.
Well, I am fine with that. I pirate everything, so it's ok. I do agree that, not buying games kill off sequels and such. But most games disappoint me, so usually I torrent them anyway. I try it, and if I feel it's really great with a lot of replayability, I'll buy it; or if I want to play online, I'll definitely get it. There are only a few companies on my list that will never fail me (hasn't so far), so I'll buy their games whenever.
Nicely said, but there are games that aren't available in all regions which I wouldn't mind downloading (Katamari Damacy tops the list for me, which isn't available in Europe).

Goddamn it, I just sorted out the EMU and Game. But its unplayable. I have the computer Specs to run it, however I assume my EMU settings are wrong.
It runs, but laggy, with poor sounds quality. Any Advice?

Damn, i have a e8400 core2duo 3.0ghz and an Ati HD4890 OC and windows vista 64bit, but i dont understand why i only play over 10fps or very slowly. Do you had a special configuration??

I have quadcore and it still runs slow but if I look at my processor usage its not even at 50% for any of the cores. Dolphin runs a bit slow but at least its maxing out 2 Cores. I assumed it was the emulator but after seeing this im not so sure. Have you had any luck since trying to get full speed?

PCSX2 doesnt support quad core anyway, it will only use 2 cores from your processor. And I dont think dolphin supports quad core processor's either, that's why only 2 cores are maxed out on it

Set it to a high priority, i got a 2.0 ghz quad core, and if i do that, i can get it to 60fps.

1024mb R.HD3600 (hmpf .. ok)
and can play with speedhack at about
20-30fps ...
and u need 60fps 4 having fun ..
so spend about 500€ and u can play this at full speed

@pratyakshprabhat675 the emulator is not the problem, you have an i5, that means 4 cores right?
when it comes to emulating the ps2 you only use 2 cores... so you have 2.5... which is good for pc games, for pcsx2 not so much, need at least 3.0, learn to overclock it and you'll do just fine... one more thing
you can try SOFTWARE MODE on the video settings and set multithreading to 4 or 8.. you may get 60fps but the video won't look too good

Actually, I wouldn't bother using the discs themselves, making an ISO of your own games generally allows for *much* better loading times on most games (much quicker to read from your HDD than a DVD).
Use programs like Alcohol 120% or ImgBurn to make ISO's of your own games.

PS2 games are ripped into ISO's, not ROM's. Where did I get my 'ISO'? I ripped the game myself because I bought the damn thing. Sorry if I was a bit harsh, just tired of the kiddies trying to get in on the scene when they haven't taken the time to learn the correct terminology and most time, buy the game they are trying to emulate.

Why would you buy the PS2 game so you can rip the iso off of it to EMULATE on? I like how you didn't mention to part of "getting your own PS2". The whole point of this is to play the game on your PC, aka, without a PS2 and the actual PS2 game.
You can excuse emulating NES as not being able to get the system, but not PS2 when it is readily available. So basically, you look down on other people for not having the actual game while ignoring the fact that emulation means not having the console.

Emulation to me doesn't mean not having the console, it's to save you from having 12 different consoles hooked up to your TV. Playing on your computer means reducing clutter, loading times, using alternate controllers (play a PS2 game with a 360 controller), and if you have a strong enough computer, far better graphics.
Kids that use it for piracy (playing games you don't own for free) are cancer and give emulation a bad name.

Well, I am fine with that. I pirate everything, so it's ok. I do agree that, not buying games kill off sequels and such. But most games disappoint me, so usually I torrent them anyway. I try it, and if I feel it's really great with a lot of replayability, I'll buy it; or if I want to play online, I'll definitely get it. There are only a few companies on my list that will never fail me (hasn't so far), so I'll buy their games whenever.

That's funny, because all ps3's were backwards compatible, then they discontinued it. And, the old 80GB ps3's were backwards compatible through emulation. So Sony already has ps2 emulation.
