I have this amp! I bought it brand new in about 1966 and was just learning to play the guitar. It only has about 20-30 hours playing time on it and looks like the day I bought it. I now have several amps and guitars and am open to selling the Sears Silvertone. Let me know if interested. wcsalso@aol.com
these amps ARE really loud. If you want overdrive at a lower volume you should get a 1482 -- the 1/12 version. they sound great as well and readily overdrive at way below ear bleed levels!
Jack uses a 1485, this is a 1484. Very close. I have this amp, its an amazing studio amp. Killer tones natuarally, even drop dead gorgeous with a few great pedals.
@Blaydrnnnr Jack uses both a 1485 and a 1484 for the white stripes. also a silverface twin reverb. at least that's what i could tell from when i saw the stripes during the icky thump tour. for raconteurs he uses just the 1485 and a black fare twin, and a deluxe verb as a guitar monitor. I saw them in june of 2008 and was right on the stage.
The Tremolo on these sound amazing!

I had one of these in 1964. I remember Sears also sold a six-ten for bass, I think.
