Well actually there are very subtle changes to his appearance that Alucard does that enhances his power. The first to come off are the glasses and the hat, and if you watch closely he takes his arms out of his coat and sort of wears it like a jacket.

The events of Bram Stoker's Dracula basically explain how Alucard was defeated. The 5 of them killed all of Alucard's servants, so I don't really know if Hirano was thinking about Alucard's "immortality" at the time.

Well therein lies the problem. As you see in Hellsing Ultimate 8, he has a huge army of souls from ancient times. If he has them now, he had them then. How could Van Helsing take down an entire army when the entire set of enemies in the present time were instantly wiped out by them?

And also if they were killed off by Van Helsing then why are they still available for Alucard to use?

By servants I mean his castle servants. Of course they wouldn't kill an entire army, that's physically impossible. Like I said, I don't think Hirano was considering Alucard's defeat by Van Helsing and the contradictory fact that the man can't die because he's sucked the blood of so many people.

Have you not read the entire series? Her arm gets sliced off by Zorin, and when she drinks Pip's blood after he dies, shadows spew out of her arm. In the last chapter her arm is healed though.

@Blad3sofWaR she got the shadow arm after zorin (the weird girl with the scythe chops here real one off, she also stabs her through the chest and slashes out her eyes, most of that is regenerated when Seras drinks the blood of the merc captain, who dies trying to save her. He arm however didnt regrow but rather fused with the captains shadow to make what you see here. it morphs isnt a few things so far.

I couldn't resist the moral debate sorry. Now, under no circumstances would I leave anyone I care about unsupervised with Vlad, but I do think he was a positive leader. He channeled his sadism and kept it directed at his enemies and criminals. And the game takes place only 30 years afterwards. Because the real life Order of the Dragon bears similarities to the game's version of the Assassins (who are also real). Because in Brotherhood, the woman Ezio sleeps with, knew Dracula growing up. Same source material.
