Thank you for this video! It's amazing to see how much the redwood trees have grown in Lytton square. It's an inspiration to just do it - just plant a tree, wherever you are. Who knows how tall it will be by the time you take your last breath? And yet the Mountain remains this gorgeous, immutable, totally recognizable silhouette.
WOW Klaus Thanks for posting these! Didn't eve know these existed.. I'm gonna send to everyone!! I found it through Jen Greif on Facebook, who posted a link for The "Mill Valley" song. fun to find these
I lived near the top of Ethel, near the split with Mirabel I was about 7 or 8 years ahead of you so our paths probably never crossed. I had forgotten about the short cut to old mill school which ran along the creek. That's a lovely image you help me to recall. Thanks
Great footage, Captures the time very well. Thanks for posting it. Lived on Ethel Ave, up a bit from throckmorton. Moved to l.a. in '87. The fog is missed!
I lived at 76 Ethel (at Wildomar) with my sisters and mom 1976-1886, age 9-18 when I went to Cal...we were the Harris sisters...where were you? Near The blackberry patch they have since cut down? Or the creek where we caught craydads? I went to Old Mill School through the short cut on Ethel just before Throckmorton....
El Paseo, Old Mill Park, the bus depot before it was the book depot, Uncle Gaylords, Three Wells, Village Music...we lived on Ethel Ave off Throckmorton...I left in 1984 for UCB. Sad!!!
Thanks for sharing. Lived in Mill Valley from "conception" until 1965. Eight great years. Parents divorced. Was upset to leave such a wondurful, one of a kind town. I still Visit!
I lived in Mill Valley '60 - '68. That brought so many memories of the town. That Mexican style alleyway was between the movie theatre and Ben Franklin, and my mother shopped at that safeway.
Heyyy!! My DAD used to work at that Safeway! But I think it was '67 to '69, not quite sure. Thanks for posting this! I went to Strawberry Point School from 1967 till December '69. And I have the SONG, too -- and would have been on the single, if we hadn't moved! :)
Hey, cool! I went to Strawberry Point school as well, '77 to '79. I am glad to have uploaded this and hope you enjoy the others i will put up as well.
I stand corrected. I emailed my dad; he watched the video and told me there were 2 Mill Valley Safeways. The one he worked at was near Strawberry Point. Now that he jogged my memory, I remember that the Safeway he worked at was in a shopping center, lots of wood decorating it. I do still remember the pickle barrel in the Safeway, though!
I had the pleasure of spending two weeks in Mill Valley back in 1992. It was breathtaking and so peaceful. I adore Northern California.

That's a town that seems age-less. More cars now though.

I lived near Old Mill Park , in the 60s and 70s up two flights of the dipsea steps. What memories you have rekindled.
