  • Most beautiful thing I've ever seen.. his incredible skill is one thing, but the pleasure he has while he's playing makes it even more awesome.

  • One of my favorite guitarist. I just found out about tommy not even 4 months ago.

  • fit a tampon through those front teeth!!

  • @jewis2janger Go elsewhere with you complete ignorant comments. Your a waste of life judging from your comment.

  • The link for the tabs is broken :( Got a new one?

  • Hahaha thats funny. ive rarely seen him stuff up. could count the times on one hand!!!

  • so who else videos of people playing guitar, with close up of their hands, but not a good enough close up to actually see where the fingers are going.. it drives me insane !! how are u supposed to learn a song with no tabs fuuuuuuuccccc

  • Haha from the video icon you looked just like Marc Emery.

  • The guy can literally play anything. He's alot of fun and totally entertaining to watch/listen to.

  • Watching this guy makes me smile EVERYTIME!!!

  • Popeye the Sailor!!!!!!!! =)

  • what is this? 0.0

  • uuuuuuwiiiiiiijaaaaaa!!!!!!!genio !!!

  • TE is one funny guy. When he picks his guitar up - I put mine down. Simply awesome. There is no filter between his brain and his fingers.

  • clapton is more of a singer than a guitarist... there's a reason why tommy doesnt sing either, because he is the opposite of clapton..

    both are great musicians...

  • tommy does sing, actually. have you seen him live? he often includes a song with vocals in his set list. nine pound hammer, heartbreak hotel, etc.

  • tommy is the best guitaris,I saw him live how he plays, his skills are too good=)

  • BudZManson: The difference between TE and Clapton is the fact that Tommy uses his Guitar as his main instrument, while Clapton is using his voice as main and uses his guitar to back it up.

  • buDzManson, u must be fucking retarded. I love Eric Clapton, but i don't recon hes anywhere near as good as Tommy Emmanuel.

  • in my opinion Tommy Emmanuel shit all over Eric Clapton, i still love Eric clapton, hes a great guitarist, but no match for Tommy.

  • not thats not a good commment man watch out eric claptnos fans are very were not only thT BUT u just made fun of eric clapton go suck a dick lets see u play guitar and sing at the same time

  • eric clapton.thought tommy was so good he got him to play with him in OZ,no bullshit>

  • who thought sailor's hornpipe could actually sound cool...i guess tommy beat me to it

  • my god, he must have a brain in every finger. speaking of brains, someone once told me that a brain is like a heart, except with a mind, or brain. lol

  • Look around you!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D

  • or not cut at all:P

  • too good. i hate him

  • excellente

  • i think its great that Tommy dedicates what free time he has off the road to make these videos but i think he should also produce and publish tabs for all of these songs cause i just see his fingers half the time, they move too quick!!

  • I think we should sit and learn to use our ears a bit so we never need tabs again!

  • search for the site tabok, there are all TE tabs

  • Great, but it reminds me of Old MacDonald has a farm.

  • This is a very old song, about 50 years old. It's not written by Tommy :-)

  • It's a lot older than that: 19th century chantey: "In South Australia I was born/ A-heave away, a-haul away/ In South Australia, 'round Cape Horn./ We're bound for South Australia."

Then he throws in a bit of the "Sailor's Hornpipe" just to mess with us.

  • I think the middle part is "Sailors Hornpipe".

  • absolutely awsome song and extremely well played :) as always :)

  • holy crapp it took me sop god dam long to find this vid

  • That's what I love about Tommy - he seems to have such a pure enthusiasm about playing, and a sheer joy for being so good. He can laugh about a mistake many others wouldn't let on out on film....

  • Great fingers. =Stefan=

  • fastest fingers ive ever seen on an acoustic!! what a stunning player

  • Awesome, also watch him playing Classical Gas...

  • I saw him live in perth, Australia i met him hes a champion he has certainly eared CGP Award

  • shit, i loved this, and like the guys below me, i cant wait to see him live. they said on his myspace it sohuld be about december/january, he will be back home in australia.

  • it was.... great :) even more than that... a must see concert! ;) I hope he comes somewhere near us again, I'll defenetively be going.

  • this is a talent worth viewing :) i'm going to his concert on sunday (4 days from now) and i hope he's gonna do some of his "wacky" moves :D

  • was it good?

actually why am i asking that? :P

    enjoy yerself?

  • I'm pretty sure the only reason he made a mistake is A BUG INTERUPTED HIS PLAYING and so he lost concentration!

  • he makes me smile in and outside.

  • Having been to South Australia many times, having the flys swarming him is quite common and I had to laugh when I saw him swatting at them -- which is useless because they're everywhere. Always pray for a windy day in SA so the damn flys aren't about!

  • what does "low action" mean?

  • The action of a guitar is the distance between the strings and the fretboard. The greater the distance, the higher action. Generally, the lower the action, the easier it is to play, although, as the action becomes increasingly lower, you might get problems like fret buzz.

  • i wonder if he has really low action and how do you lower action on acoustics

  • He said he keeps the neck pretty flat, which would lower the action some. On accoustics, you usually have 2 ways that you can lower the action. The first (and by far the easiest) is to adjust the neckbolt, sometimes found on the head, sometimes found in the accoustic chamber where the neck joins the body. The second way is to modify the bridge, lowering the strings. Usually you want a luthier to do this because you can really screw things up if you don't know what you're doing.

  • <laughter>

CM: This is going in the credits.

    TE: Yeah.

CM: Ok. Australian or not, you're supposedly cooking.

TE: Are we cooking now? ...We'll put the middle part in, eh?

    CM: We'll just cut it...

TE: We'll just cut it in, we'll keep the mistake in and then we'll cut the middle section in.

    CM: Yeah.

TE: Ok, let's do that. From the middle section, here we go. One, two, three, four...

in case you missed any of it

  • If he messes up by any chance it's just a problem with the video. =P

  • It was on purpose so that you would "can't believe he made a mistake" it.

  • I CANT BELIVE HE MADE A MISTAKE.

  • he is using a pick but hes also finger picking...."chicken pickin'", if you will.

  • Was there a fly interruptting him?

  • Yeah, "aaaaahhhhhh" is the best :D:D Respect for Tommy!!

  • hahahah I really like the noises he does "aahhhhhh" hahahaha

  • I think he's using a pick in this one

  • Amazing player I watch several tmes his two shows on Woodsongs radio hour and it's just incrdible how much musicality, feeling and technique he can put into his playing !

  • Great D-tuning piece!

  • Aha, he IS human!! Now that's what i call a memory block!

  • Gotta love the Sailors Hornpipe in the middle there!

  • wow.. beautiful fingerpicking..

  • Awsome! His sense of rythm is flawless.:)

  • It is, isn't it? Tommy's rhythm is impeccable. He once said he's a drummer who happens to play guitar.
