Anyone know what kind of bands those are? Are they the Orange Resistance Training Bands from PerformBetter?? Really looking to get some of these if anyone could help me find out which they are!
Yes it is true what youy say , Raptorel, because it seems these guys have really mastered the KB swqings in the first place, especially the big guy in the middle.
If and only if, you have mastered the KB swing, it might be safe to pcroceed with that exercise and remembver to use your hips instead of your shoulders.
I don't understand one thing: the bands would actually "teach" the athlete to use their shoulders actively because the resistance is occuring at the top part of the swing where the hip extension kind of ends... so you tend to compensate by using your shoulders and arms which is a no-no.
@AFROTHINKER love where your heads at. i said every single one of those things in my head when watching, the arms should be ROPES people!!!! proper progression!!
At the beginning of the video the guy all the way to the right was like What? ... then he was like Huh? Then he was like, oh crap he's got the camera out again lol.
Great video. Thanks for the insight. Thumbs up as usual.
the accomodating resistance on shoulder flexion, in a manner very specific to vj, will definitely improve shoulder power for VJ.. as for the accelerated eccentric/leg/hip aspect of this exercise, better results would be gotten via depth jumps and/or REA squatting (banded or regular) imo.. that's pretty weak eccentric overload compared to DJ's/REA SQ.
but for shoulder power, i like this exercise, looks effective.
@icharuswing : professionals yes, olympic no. but i could care less about that, my own personal results speak for itself, and within 6 more months, game over.
what would be ideal reps and sets for this?

@AFROTHINKER Well it doesn't seem like everybody mastered the swing if you know what I mean :))

So I don't find this particularly beneficial.

These forms on the kettlebell swings are HORRIBLE!!!!!
yes, it is creative to add a resistance band on the kettlebell swings but one has to master thre swing first before adding anything to it.
They hyperextend their backs, they dont fire their hips, they use the arms to lift the bell etc etc. It looks like a shoulder exercise.
I am not convinced that they even know how to swing the kettlebell in the first place.
my two cents!!!

Am I wrong in thinking the guy that starts at 1:37 has the best form? Just trying to differentiate based off jbgood's comment.

Joe, I liked this at first until we added them today and now I love 'em! Used single arm db swings since we don't have kb's.

I always appreciate the videos you post; However I think that some of those guys need to learn how to swing a bell first without the bands.
