Eating disorders are the saddest fucking thing. I personally feel like the important thing to note with this song isn't that Daniel Johns had an eating disorder, it's that he recovered from it. I personally don't have one, but I do know people who do, and I know how hard it is but...it can get better. I promise. You can get help. @nitaisakillerxoxo I'm assuming you are still very young or haven't been struggling with "your ana" long. Talk to me once this DISEASE has stolen years of your life. Then we'll see how you feel about giving up fighing and just "chilling". If you really are effected by anorexia then I feel bad for you, and I hope you get the real help you need. But I am so sick of young girls thinking this is a game and that it is some how hip to be 'sick'. It only gets worse the longer you struggle with it.
Words can not describe how much this song means to me. While I no longer fit the criteria for anorexia, I am EDNOS. I can slowly feel myself going back the other way though. Everyone needs to understand that just because you do not look emaciated it does not mean that you are not struggling. A vast majority of people with eating disorders are considered "normal" by terms of BMI and weight.

i no longer am anorexic although i still struggle with an eating disorder but it doesn't slow me down. i now find it easier to handle it when i help other people get through the tough times of anorexia, it can be really good to talk through it. i strongly advise people with the disorder to talk to someone they trust because once you have it can only get better :)
i've only been suffering for a few months now. i can't imagine what it's like for those who have been for years but just stay strong. i know how hard it is. i'm there right now. i can't eat anything without feeling like a failure and wanting to run to the toilet (my stomach doesn't even accept food anymore.) but if i don't i get anxious. before i was consumed by this, i thought anorexia was the dumbest thing. i've learned. i don't judge anymore.

i need some help. im only 13 and mia and ana are trying 2 kill me. idk wat 2 do any more. i got sent 2 the police 2 day @ school cuz they thought i ran away and then my mom and him told me that i was ruining every1s lives by telling them my problems. i cant stop this and its killing me.

This makes me think that you are craving attention. if it was serious, then you should get on a support group. Youtube is a public place...not a wish list of survival or problems...

@nitaisakillerxoxo I'm assuming you are still very young or haven't been struggling with "your ana" long. Talk to me once this DISEASE has stolen years of your life. Then we'll see how you feel about giving up fighing and just "chilling". If you really are effected by anorexia then I feel bad for you, and I hope you get the real help you need. But I am so sick of young girls thinking this is a game and that it is some how hip to be 'sick'. It only gets worse the longer you struggle with it.

Words can not describe how much this song means to me. While I no longer fit the criteria for anorexia, I am EDNOS. I can slowly feel myself going back the other way though. Everyone needs to understand that just because you do not look emaciated it does not mean that you are not struggling. A vast majority of people with eating disorders are considered "normal" by terms of BMI and weight.

i no longer am anorexic although i still struggle with an eating disorder but it doesn't slow me down. i now find it easier to handle it when i help other people get through the tough times of anorexia, it can be really good to talk through it. i strongly advise people with the disorder to talk to someone they trust because once you have it can only get better :)

i've only been suffering for a few months now. i can't imagine what it's like for those who have been for years but just stay strong. i know how hard it is. i'm there right now. i can't eat anything without feeling like a failure and wanting to run to the toilet (my stomach doesn't even accept food anymore.) but if i don't i get anxious. before i was consumed by this, i thought anorexia was the dumbest thing. i've learned. i don't judge anymore.

@jettsta2401 Anorexia (and other eating disorders) are mental illnesses which manifest themselves physically. It really is far, far harder than that. I don't have enough character allowance to begin to explain it. Google it, watch some videos, stop being so ignorant and judgemental.
Look up "Rhodes clinic" on here or ED documentary (or Anorexia or Bulimia..documentary). Learn, don't judge.

It's horrible to see yourself becoming a bitter, boney, obsessed person but not being able to fix it. None of them have ever said it was just about being skinny. I realise that's often a part of it but noone has ever ever said that it's only about that.
