The thing that I like about this song is that he is singing about Grace as if it's an actual entity. When you think about it that way, your perspective on God's grace changes for the good.

this is tuned a half step down. very easy to play, your playing open chords in the verse, G, D, Am, C. You could just play the normal way though.

Phil's guitar, regardless of chord tuning, is always half a step down. He plays a lot of his songs with the DADGAD tuning. If you have short fingers (like I do) you can pull off the same chords in Open D without so much of a stretch.
