I have had this car for a few years, and I absolutely loved it. But a few days ago I was in an accident, with a telephone pole, and it smashed the driver side front end, engine was fine, still running after accident, all the electrical stuff, lights, controls, power everything, radio, etc. Was still working, except front right lights. but the back right wheel was dis-aligned, three tires blown, it being Blue Book value $3000, it was totaled, looking for similar if not same car now.
@nicoli669 tell me all u can about these tranys i just got one of these car just over a month ago and it keep eating trannys the 1st to had 906 stamped on them the 3rd one has 916 on it where can i found the trany code on it or where can i look for the 4T65-E HD mark...plz and thank you
Actually no, I'm in the process of ordering a new steering rack for it, my steering assist just quit working a few weeks back, and we checked the power steering pump; it's fine. So we're going to replace the rack and pinion, I'm puzzled why that would go out in the first place.
It wastes gas without o/d use o/d it's designed to be used either highway or city i don't see how using o/d in a city causes wear to the tranny. continues shifting? The computer has sensors to detect how the vehicle is driving and tells the transmission when to shift. If anything you strain the engine but unlikely it's just got no benefit at all
ANY transmission tends to shift into overdrive at low speeds to increase mileage, which is fine, except for it tends to cause them to cycle between gears a lot. It'll shift into o/d, you'll step down on the gas, it'll shift out, you let up, it shifts again. How can you not see that preventing it from doing that would decrease wear and tear on it?
Because Ive worked on cars before Ive worked with a friend who rebuilds them and the clutches and bands are made out of Kevlar and the fluid is a lubricant so in essence a transmission is nothing more than a planetary gear set connected to a wet clutch system that engages and disengages the set giving your gear ratio's the bands and clutches are designed to outlast your car unless you neutral bomb it or mod the engine outside it's horsepower range Ive never seen an overdrive failure in a tranny
Yeah I've rebuilt transmissions before too, and I know how mechanical thing are, the more you use them, the faster they wear out. It's the same concept as you're supposed to turn off the overdrive going up hills so it doesn't cycle back and forth between gears, it's to prevent that from happening. Also it helps with engine braking, you don't have to use the brakes as much for traffic and stoplights etc.
That happened to me and still happens to me man. Especially when passing on the highway. All of a sudden I'm doing 140KM without even realizing it. Put your foot down.. look up at speedo a second later.. oh shit.. im going wayyyy too fast LOL :)
The time it takes that car to get to 60 is just insane too me and I looked down at the speedo and saw I was going way too fast all the sudden, 60 in a 35 will definitely get you a ticket lol.
not to well but i have it listed on some websites now so hopefully it will sell soon. i think im getting a new car this weekend though. after i saw your buick i tried talking my dad into one of these but he thinks i cant handle the horses
As long as you don't have an obsession with flooring the gas all the time you'll have no problems with this car. If you have a good driving record just tell him it's a very easy car to drive and with all the electronic BS it's almost uncrashable.
yea i have tried to convince him but he seems to interested in getting me something slower but idk. nice car though. you should make a couple more videos

Ya it does, I usually just keep it on instant fuel economy to see what kind of mileage I'm getting.
