  • Black's move 21 should have been Qb5. This is even better than Rc8 because you infiltrate on e2 with your rook while still eyeing the rook on f1. Checked it with rybka and it leads to winning position. Great example of how to exploit light squares in enemy camp.

  • Are you Indian because I am

  • what would be wrong about going to f2 after g6x ?

wouldnt youve gained a rook and lost a knight and a pawn?

  • This question has been already asked by Knightstale22. See his comment here below.

  • Nice vid Majnu. Sometimes the most simple and logical moves escape us OTB. It's amazing how much we miss while playing. Bad luck but instructive.

  • Yes that is the human part of chess. We miss the obvious sometimes. But we keep loving the game!

  • Good game Manju. It is quite easy I find to get a good position or a winning position, but actually turning it into a won game is probably the most difficult part of the chess battle. Just wondering, after white plays F*g6 at 06:11, Nf2+ looks to be winning for you. One variation could be 1.F*g6 2.Nf2+ 2.R*f2 3.Q*f2 G*f7+ 4.K*f7 Qf5+ 5.Kg8 and white has to spend a tempo preventing mate on the back rank with queen and rook. I know it looks scary, but if it is playable you should bag the goodies.

  • My opponent and I looked after the game at the option Nf2+ but we rejected it because of 1.F*g6 2.Nf2+ 2.R*f2 3.Q*f2 G*f7+ 4.K*f7 Bf4 and white solves the back rank problem and threatens to take on d6.

  • Yeah, it looks very complex. I think after Bf4 black may have a dangerous attack with Re2 threating mate at g2. The only response I can see for white is Rg1. Sadly, I don't have a chess board available to analyse so I am trying to work out the complications in my mind but I think white could get his pieces tied down to defensive duties if black can keep bringing his heavy pieces into the attack. If white survives, it might be a difficult endgame for you if white manages to grab the d pawn.

  • I could be wrong here, but I am sure when Fritz suggests Na6 as an improvement, at 05:00, how does black save the knight after Qd2 threatning A3. I carn't see how, maybe Fritz has evaluated the position wrong, if you make it play out the rest of the moves I think maybe black is going to be a knight down for little compensation.

  • After Qd2 black plays Qa6 (the rook on f1 is undefended).

  • Thankyou Manju, I now see the complex variation to save the knight, I think it would be 1.Qa6 2.Rf2 Rac8 3.A3 Bc3 3.Qd1 Qd3 and white must swap queens and you will have the lovely square D3 for your knight. A very interesting game of yours, it's nice to see you back doing these videos, I enjoy them very much.

  • Very interesting as ever.

  • thanks.
