The internet seems to have only killed the demand for CDs. I work in a record store and we still sell a ton of vinyl, a lot of it to young people. You'd be surprised what kids are listening to these days too.

I know technology tends to push human interaction out of a lot of things but I think, for true music lovers, you can never replace going into a music store..chatting with the funny hair guy behind the counter about what's new...and walking out with a new band in your hands (preferably on vinyl). The two skaters are from the Electronica scene... getting Riuchi Sakamoto for his jungle/breakbeats, sigue sigue sputnik because they have very primary elements of electronica - JONI MITCHELL, obviously for sampling purposes (no electro track is worth anything without samples, ppl) - AND the 'Home Recording Studio' book - because electronica is mostly written at a home studio.
