@coxxix there are alot of imba heros not overpowered just slightly stronger or slightly weaker there are people that can combo but 1 of those spells is 100% of reliable and costs a ton of mana magic heros tend to scale off during late game that is the nature of the game LoL had a system of ap and ad so everything could (sort of) scale into late game they still scaled of just not as much and still magic heros in dota tend to be for damage in early and utility in late

hey stonewall, just played earthshaker twice and i won both games with 0/2/11 and 3/1/21 i think. my question is whether or not earthshaker is effective if like he doesnt die TOO much but the final score would be like 0/5/9. because both games i had an aggressive teammate who just beat the sht out of them as soon as i pressed q so was wondering what to do if i'm not being fed assists

To all people asking about how to play DotA 2:

It is a closed beta, meaning only selection of certain people are chosen to play. You can get a beta key through various ways: 1. Sign up for the surveys, (now closed I think), on dota2.com and hope you are chosen. 2. Go to playdota.com and join the daily draw, (most people who win this draw have played DotA for a few years or more)

3. There are still many competitions on the internet involving beta keys as prizes.

4. Beg someone for an invite

There is a patch every Thursday. Click play and it should automatically update.

Just keep playing, watch commentaries (DotACommentaries) and browse around playdota, (read the beginner guides about mechanics). Generally the recommended items are good. Visit DotACinema youtube channel for hero introductions and some general guides.

@archeus1337 I don't think so, but I could be wrong. I remember hearing about the odd interaction of invis units with Earthshaker. iirc, Earthshaker's ultimate does more damage if more units are hit by it. In the case of invisible units (inparticular I think that Brood Mother and/or her spiderlings was the case in question), Earthshaker's ultimate will bounce off of them to do more damage to other units that are hit, but it doesn't actually damage the invisible units.

Hey stonewall. I think maxing ES's passive might be a bit better since Fissure cost a lot of mana. You could then max his W since the cooldown is pretty short. You can fissure to them and use your W to stun again.

@Garudaism Don't max his passive, max his fissure. His passive only procs in a small aoe around earthshaker, and is not a reliable stun, (unless you have blink dagger). However, when you lvl up fissure you gain damage and a longer stun duration. Enchant totem should be maxed last, as it is only used to proc his passive. Lvling enchant totem does not reduce the cooldown, and it is not that effective early game (since it is 300% of ur base damage not items).

Just wanted to point out that none of the heroes in dota are op, every is relatively balanced, though some heroes are not often picked. Every hero has strengths and weaknesses. What is great about dota is that all the heroes are unique, and there is a lot less snowballing. if your carry can freefarm for 30min, 90% ofthr time you will win. However in lol of you lose the early and mid game ur screwed no matter how farmed ur carry is.

@TheGrandLier Shadow Priest has a skill that makes any hero be unable to die for 5 seconds, reaching as low as 1 hp. This has a 15 sec cd and is a nonultimate ability. Yet he is rarely picked as a support (rare as karma in a ranked game)

Necro is a decent hero, though not often picked in the competitive scene. He's considered an anti tank, being able to kill anyone instantly under 50% hp with his ulti, as well as having a max %hp DoT. He belongs in strong pushing lineups, able to sustain the entire team throughout teamfights. Necro is fairly item and level dependent. You need a good amount of farm to tank up to be able to spam ur heal. Necro is countered by heavy burst damage (lion) or silences.

Sk is not op, his ulti has an extremely long cd and high mana cost. His low intel gain does not help, making him have severe mana issues early on. The very fact that he is melee puts him at a disadvantage compared to other carries. He is extremely item-dependent and moderately level dependent. A strong pushing lineup can wreck him, as well as specific heroes such as doom bringer and antimage.

Great, I love this. When I played DoTA it was PRETTY stallish though. By the way, I love the way that some champions call their names when selected... Feels like... Pokemon.

I loved the tango and potion cancelling mechanics, as well as the forced carried telescroll... As well as some mechanics involving destroying the jungle. Pretty complex game.

I know this is totally noobish of me but, once you get more comfortable with it, could you maybe do a basic DOTA2 guide for people who are used to LoL but want to try out DOTA2 without getting totally rofl-stomped? I'm not bad at league of legends but I suck at the original DOTA. Just something basic like good heroes for beginners and crucial things you need to know to not get owned that don't necessarily apply to LoL would be a huge help.

@coxxix most of the reason that the game is imbalanced right now is that not all heros are in the game atm so there are really strong heros that get countered by a certain hero but that hero is not in the game yet and lina is only strong with other stuners as any good player that is not cc'ed can always dodge her stun

echo slam the more creeps and champs around u his "echo" bounces from creep to creep hero to hero until it goes around them all and there are 3 "echos" bounce look at it as a brand/lich ulti but every time it bounces it gets more dmg. so recap more minions and heroes around bigger dmg :)

EVERY SINGLE UNIT that Earthshaker will hit with his Echo Slam (its a big AoE around him, same range as Fiddles ult but without channel time) will Create an additional AoE with lesser dmg (40,55,70 dmg). So if u hit like 10 enemys it will have 400 - 700 extra dmg. its freaking Powerfull :D

Hey, stonewall, I really like your vids, and you're a damn good player when it comes to LoL, but the transfer from LoL to DotA is a big leap. Making statements like "necrolyte is underpowered" gives new players the wrong impression, as he most certainly is not. I know you're trying to be helpful to those less experienced in the MOBA scene, but you should get more familiar with the game before making those kinds of judgements. Keep up the good work man.
