I'm sorry, but I don't like these videos. It's stupid because even though the life story is good, and you can tell they're great people, it has nothing to do with whether they're Mormon or not.

I know exactly what she means by being around kids with special needs. They are seriously the best people to be around. My friend's little brother has down syndrome and he is the sweetest boy. I worked with a lady who had a mental disability, she was a brilliant dancer and was so kind to everyone. Good job Rochelle!!! :D

I live in a town full of Mormons and the things they say about their church really make me mad. They have a lot of different beliefs than me ( catholic). The thing I hate the most is all of them try to get me to join the mormon church, even my friends
The purpose of these videos is to clear some of the stereotypes that exist concerning Mormons. Why are people being so hateful? This video was done with the best of intentions. It's not meant to convert you- people shouldn't take offense to anything said. It's like people are taking any fault they can find from this video and reading too far into it. Please, calm down and see what this woman is doing. She has two children with disabilities. I think she deserves a little credit.

I was baptized into the Church almost 2 months ago. As a former non-believer, I can tell you that I used to find this and any church ridiculous and not worth my time. My life changed one night when I experienced the hand of God in my life for the first time when I asked with a sincere heart to receive him and his words. I was blessed throughout that night with what I later discerned to be revelations. I encourage everyone who's curious/misinformed about the Church to learn more about it.

I really don't understand the comparison between racism and religious discrimination... One is something you have no choice in, and the other is a very personal DECISION that you make. If you make a decision to believe that God told you the world was gonna end soon, then you will be criticized for it. The same thing goes for being Mormon (or Muslim). No. It is to tell our story on our terms to those who are accidentally (as opposed to willfully) ignorant about our religion. It is to show who we are and how the core principles of Christianity are reflected in the lives of faithful, practicing Mormons. In so doing we hope that fair-minded people will expand their views and want to know more.

I don't really understand the "let's put above-average-looking folks on camera with all sorts of storylines and I'm x, y, z, and I'm a Mormon" ... I think the less-viewed cartoons on the other mormon page (guess it's not LDS' official one) with the stories would be more helpful considering how obscure and alien the actual book reads... this is just ... "Wow, look, I'm a Mormon!" I think Shaycarl's family does it 50x better than all these combined. I'd rather see views on polygamy etc addressed.

@AJ06 What IS the point of these videos? Is it to show that the Mormon faith is correct, or that good living is exclusive to Mormons? No. It is to tell our story on our terms to those who are accidentally (as opposed to willfully) ignorant about our religion. It is to show who we are and how the core principles of Christianity are reflected in the lives of faithful, practicing Mormons. In so doing we hope that fair-minded people will expand their views and want to know more.

Why are people freaking out? It's so sad, if she'd said she was Catholic or any other religion, no one would care. But Mormons, oooh, suddenly it's stupid. Why? Why can't every religion just have respect and common courtesy? She's obviously a great lady, just give her credit for that much, whether she's Mormon or not.

I've been watching these "I'm a Mormon" clips and noticed a few comments that just don't make sense. I understand most are jokes that are meant to provoke or be witty, but it's still a little too silly. These videos are just meant to show that Mormons are just like "normal people", not explain doctrine or say Ha! I'm better than you! There is a place to find doctrine, and those who say they have some sort of high-and-mighty status obviously aren't exactly what they say they are. It's that simple

That's great, except Cerebral Palsy isn't really a mental disability. (Ok, TECHNICALLY, it means something's wrong with the brain, that doesn't tell the muscles to loosen, but if he acts his age and has no emotional problems, then it's a physical disability. Kids with CP aren't mentality disabled by default, for lack of a better word).
I should know, I have it myself.

Religion has changed many peoples giving them guidance, morals, and a foundation to build upon. So yes, religion (including Mormonism) can make your life better.

I am heartbroken to see a lot of dislikes, even more to see that people just come here to insult and be all sarcastic. I am also a Mormon and I invite you all to just go ONE time to church and see what it's about. Just take a same time to put your sarcasm aside and go with a good heart. That way you will personally know what goes on, the people will surely be so ever nice. This is not just labeled as a religion but a guide to make you happy and understand many things. We all deserve happiness.

@SahiraGJ I did, and most Mormons are actually pretty chill people. Being an openly bisexual male, I'm used to religious people...not being very accepting, to say the least. I haven't heard of them picketing any military funerals, however. That's a plus.

They all just seem a tad bit condescending, like you have to be religious to be a good person. I have a friend who doesn't believe in God, and she works at a camp for kids with mental disabilities.

@SahiraGJ These videos are a perfect example of christians thinking they are special. You know, believe it or not, quite a few atheists really HAVE tried the christian experience. Been to church, read the bible, but in the end, it's all contradictive and silly. Just as one person doesn't like being stoned, another doesn't like believing in fairy tales and playing pious Pete in front of his peers. Most of christianity is an act, the most genuine people I know are not christian.

Oh you guys are great people definitely, but see from our perspective. Most of us are Christians and Catholics. Some are atheist. But just know we don't dislike Mormons as people but the belief system you guys have. Yours beliefs and ours beliefs differ completely and having this whole "I am a Mormon" video does show you guys are nice people, but it honestly serves no purpose.

The sadness of this video isn't that the Mormons are showing that normal people participate in the religion, it's the amount of losers that disagree with their beliefs posting pointless hateful comments on the video... Do you not have anything else going for you in your life? Nobody really cares. I'm not Mormon, but I'm not going to stoop so low as to spread hate, you don't need religion to learn that.

I don't really understand the "let's put above-average-looking folks on camera with all sorts of storylines and I'm x, y, z, and I'm a Mormon" ... I think the less-viewed cartoons on the other mormon page (guess it's not LDS' official one) with the stories would be more helpful considering how obscure and alien the actual book reads... this is just ... "Wow, look, I'm a Mormon!" I think Shaycarl's family does it 50x better than all these combined. I'd rather see views on polygamy etc addressed.
