Nice video, good effort! My condolences!!! LISTEN TO OUR video on "maplestorylovers", the name of the song is Promises or Lies, I wrote the lyrics in remembrance, honor and dedication to my beloved father who passed away 4 years ago. Hope you'll like it! "I came (all) alone, and I'll leave (all) alone, but in between I never was... Because of you! In wealth, I maybe poor today. In health, I may also be poor someday. But in life, I never was... Because everyday you made me rich, DAD!!!"
Since i had been feeling a stagnation in popmusic for quite a while, whether this is because of limiting commercialization "strategies" of what has become "music industry" or not, anyway: i became really bored, hearing this, i suppose, traditional music from India, is a relief.
The online video performance by Batish sahab was absolutely awesome and we wish to say that he should be addressed as Pandit S.D.Batish !! Its a pity that he has not been in circulation so much and I am an avid events man and wish to organise panditji's programme and if it is not impossiple please contact me on this id and revert with your contact number etc. Please accept my pranaams panditji. I am a musician also !! Hence so much tareef !!
With a sad heart I announce that my father passed away last July. He and I worked on Indian music educational resources for the past 20 years and although we were very involved in local performance venues we lost this great soul before these composed works were made public. I am in search of great artists that will study and perform his works. I am offering recording contracts to anyone interested in learning and performing his music.
Its indeed very very sad that I never got to meet Panditji its a shame I have not looked out of my tiny world.I would love to learn.Where r U stationed?I have been close to Anil Biswas Ji and recollect of having heard the name once from her about having sung with your father for Krishna Leela which Anilda had composed music for !!Am I on the right track?Thanx for having replied, thanx to U tube.Fond Regards to you God Bless - I remain your GURU BHAI - Indraneel Mukherjee
Yes tintal. Manvati raga is number 5 in the 72 parent modes of the Carnatic music system. It is now becoming increasingly recognized all across India especially by the Hindustani tradition that has focused only on a 10 parent mode based tradition.
I wish it were so, but most catholics are very closed minded, that is they are mainly older the ones I know and they are very set in their ways. So trying to convince them that other religions do share some truths with christians is sometimes hard. depends who it is. some are open mined but are soo loose in their faith it is rair to find one with both attributes of being active in faith they follow and being open minded and learning about others.
I hope I did not say anything to offend you, even if my religious beliefs are differant and I am staunch about what I belive. I try to learn more about other cultures from the east though their food and their art.
Correct me if I am wrong but arnt there three major deitys in hindu, Vishneu, Kreshna, and Shiva. with the rest being avitars of the three?
Not at all. It is refreshing and important that we all see the world with all its variations. Your openness creates a warmth that can only bring good vibrations and acceptance of others to your faith and values.
I would like to direct you to a Google search for Hinduism.
i dont know much about indian music. I understand that india has many differant cultures that can differ from even small citys to the next I hear. with what I hear is thousands of differant languages
Manga12: With due respect to ragmala, Radha and Krishna are central to hindu traditions and Radha's bhakti (devotion) is the highest for Krishna and it is believed that any person who gets a taste for bhakti or bhajans gets it by the grace of Radha. Truly, Pandit deserves the title Rasika.
You are welcome. My father truly loved everything about music and was blessed with an incredible gift yet he was also extremely humble and believed staunchly that if we all were exposed to the study of the music and fine arts since birth there would be greater peace and harmony in the world. I would often hear him utter "a human who lacks the love of music and arts is but an animal on two legs."
I believe the original quote of Bhatrihari (in sanskrit) is: sahitya Sangita Kala viheena sakshat pashuhu puchha vishaana heenah. Trnum na khaadannapi jeevamanah, Tadbhagdheyam paramam pashunam. The first sentence is exactly your father's view.
I dont know if that was spiritual or not. but that intro is nice and smooth this guy is a really good, and had good voice control though I do not know what he was saying, this is some really relaxing music.
so is this hindu, sikh, bangara, or just a song about something?
The words are written by the singer Pt. S.D. Batish and depict a traditional theme of the celestial couple Radha and Krishna where the wirter is imploring Radha to cast off her pride and go to Krishna. "Leave your designing and forget everything else, Krishna is calling for you. Sacrifice your body, mind and soul on Mohan (Krishna)and your existence will be rewarding and fruitful. Krishna the master of the Universe is very clever and smart, why are you making him crave so for you."
A legendary musician ... may God bless you!
