Oh..... Wow.... Aron has been one of my heroes/role models since I heard his story, and hereing it from him makes me realise how bad it must of been. I will look up to aron ralston forever, from him I learnt to live every day like it's your last.
@scottycard also just touching the nerve would be excruciating, he basically had to pull the whole nerve out of his arm before it finally snapped because of his dull knife
In the video you can see the impaired bones and the broken skin from his horrific experience and in a way I think it's beautiful. Beautifully symbolic and sympathetic. That man has been through hell and back, and he should be proud and no doubt he is, the people who disliked this video must have no respect for the manic beauty this man has experienced
I never heard of Aron until I saw him on "Alone in the Wild" but I have now just finished reading his book. It's so well written. You start off thinking how on Earth did he mentally manage to cut off his own arm but the journey he takes you on makes it so much easier to understand. A fantastic book, best I've read in ages. I've now ordered the movie!
@Akiithebest I don't think he needs an imaginary god. To even propose that any fucking religion would help this man is just fucked up. Shove that retarded brainwashing up your ass.
This man's own will helped him survive, where was your god when he was stuck in that canyon?
@SandbergGustav My god? religion? dude wtf are u talking about? I didn't say jesus helped him or allah blessed him. just stfu. yes the man survived by himself, but if u ask him he would tell u that god had given him another life. all i fucking said was god bless.
@SandbergGustav apparently God (or whoever's up there) gave him a vision of his yet unborn son and that gave him the resolve to go through with the amputation.
@SandbergGustav And yes, all Akiithebeset said was "God bless." ain't nothing wrong with that. some people are way too sensitive. It's not like the concept of God is even at odds with the concept of a strong human will. Quite the opposite really.
my friend doesn't believe that this actually happened. she thinks its all made up . she also thinks thats its impossible to cut off your own arm with a hand knife that he had. i don't understand why you wouldn't believe this.
@cuttiebarbara Did she watch a documentary where it was announced that his arm that was still stuck at that rock was retrieved eventually, and Aron cremated it and returned the ashes back at the boulder?
Meu nome e Marcelo, sou brasileiro, tenho 12 anos e já assisti seu filme mais de 10 vezes e achei realmente incrivel. Você me ensinou uma grande licão de vida. Obrigado Aron e parabéns
ive watched so many of aron ralstons interview and guest speaker videos and he is such a brave and sweet guy. the things i do want to know about his expirience which i dont think he's covered in any of his videos is what kind of medical help did he get in the helicopter? cos it was the rescuers who found him, did they have any medical equipment? did they have any water or food to give him? did he have any anistetic whilst he was in the helicopter? how long did it take to get him to the hospital?
@sgtsnakeeyes11 - Not true. While his strong desire to live would have helped him a lot, there are plenty of us who would've kept putting it off until we passed the point where we were still strong enough to physically break the bones and then get through the agony of cutting through the nerve with a blunt knife. I'm not sure I could've done it.
@sgtsnakeeyes11 wow shut the fuck up, everyone is brave but not to that extent, its alot easier to think something than actually doing it, u have no idea of the pain this would cause, nor does anyone but him.
@182parker - His hand had started to decompose by the end. He slipped at one point with his knife and it slid into his trapped hand and he heard gas escaping but felt no pain. He realised then. As for being spotted by a helicopter - seems unlikely if he was beneath the boulder trapping his hand. Who knows?
@Stockw3ll you talk like a Genouse, but you dont even know the story. In this Interview he tell the real story what happens, he did not metion any people that helped him. That was in the MOVIE. The helicopter was searching for im because they finally realized he was lost, and good job getting your coment removed
@wazup3333 nah he probably wouldn't have been, the helicopter wouldn't have looked down canyons that he was in and even if they did, he would have been a needle in a haystack.
Hey natural coasters is right man, don't be a humanistic asshole. This was just an outright MIRACLE that this guy survived. Cmon Aron, don't wuss out in the face of the media
Aron amazing to have done what he did, I know I probably couldn't have done it.. I can't believe some people clicked dislike for this video, he has done nothing to you people and has done nothing to deserve it!
@RandomlyRandomLaura You would have done it too, trust me. Animals to it. You sound like a person who never experienced severe life threatening situation and shock. Ralston is just a privileged wussyboy who're profiting while US soldiers are dying and being mutilated in silence.
I love the fanbois panicing about the dislikes. The man cut off his own arm, do you think a couple of kids clicking dislike cos it bored them is going to upset Aron? Lol everything on here after is going to be a blessing :]
On my 2 tour our humve got hit by an IED and was crushed by the vehicle and didnt have the balls to free my broken leg from the car you have all of my respect Aron.
I think he is unbelievable... I know I would have given up and I'm sure thousands of others would have too... Why on earth would someone say that he only deserves respect if he saved someone else's life... what a small and pathetically narrow minded person! People like that discust me. Aron did something that was so courageous and went through days of hell. How on earth could we ever understand what he went through! A true hero in my eyes! He had such a passion to live and that he did!!!
His story is unbelievable, no doubt, i cried with the movie too and I even remembered vividly the incident 8 years ago when I saw it on the news and I don t even live in the US. But don t ever underestimate urselves calling this guy a hero, cause many more of you than you believe would ve done something like this in his position- when u face death, u r capable of things u ve never imagined, both good or bad. So there s an Aron in all of us, more or less.
@brickflowtube maybe it's like that. or maybe I just think a little longer about things. True, I wouldn't have dared to hike in the desert without anyone knowing where I was going. But trust me, I would have done the amputation. If you are clever enough to anesthetize your arm, it doesn't even hurt.
I'm not saying it's a piece of cake what he did or that he's a bad person. I'm just saying I don't understand why everyone is so impressed of him.
one of the few people that i have true respect for. in the saw films jigsaw tries the victims to respect life more. this is of course different but aron did show how much strength he has, and what he is willing to go through to stay alive.
i cannot even put into words.. the amazement.. and respect i have for you. you are simply amazing for going through this, and the will power you must have needed to get out is simply amazing. and i am only judging this on the movie "127 Hours" i am about to read your book tonight, and im sure my respect will grow even more when i am finished. you are a true hero and inspiration.
Film gezien, boek gelezen....ongelooflijk wat deze man heeft gepresteerd, wat een doorzetter, wat een wil om te leven . Een vechter, diep respect!!!!!!!!

@Will137 theres also some idiots who go around youtube searching videos and clicking on the videos just so they can dislike that video. ive pressed the like button on this video.
thanks to aron ralston I will never doubt crippled people ever again!!! he truly inspired me and many others in fact his story is even better than that surfer that had her arm bitten off i mean six days of well... that! vs. a second of shark attack is more hardcore please keep this comment alive
I just watched 127 hours and just had to see the real stuff, and I just can't believe how heroic this man is in real rather than in the movie. I love you man and you will inspire everyone in the world that sees this - it worked on me. :)
brave enough to share this experience with all of us. I have learned a lot from you and I hope you continue to find peace and happiness because like you say (in other words) its not necessarily about what you do in life its who you are and the love you build around you that counts. You have learned a lot from this and took every positive thing you could from it. You didnt waste this knowledge or second chance at life and I commend you for it.
Thank you for your inspiration. You were able to not only overcome an impossible situation physically but most importantly mentally. It gives me hope and the lesson to remember to never, never give up. I think you are a courageous soul and you turned this experience into not only making yourself a better person but you have helped others to better themselves in ways you will not know. To revisit the moments over and over again is very difficult to say the least. Thank you for being (contin)
@jointbuttz in one of his interviews he challenged people on that. He was really deep underground, so it's highly doubtful that he would have gotten any signal.
wtf ... how the .. dislikes?!? why. why do you search for ''aron ralstone'' and push a video that says aron ralstone interview and push dislike why. if you don't want to see this then don't push dislike just push ''BACK'' assholes
@noahdestefano1 Actually, this is the reason the smarter online services don't have a dislike button. This destructive, negative attitude has no point whatsoever. But it is still very popular for some reason. I don't get it either, why can't they just move on? Funny and sad.
I couldnt do that i would slit my throat it would be too emotinoly (or how ever u spell it) hard

Thank you for being (contin)

since its a remote place to be,if he did have a mobil phone whould it get signal?
jointbuttz 8 months ago
@jointbuttz in one of his interviews he challenged people on that. He was really deep underground, so it's highly doubtful that he would have gotten any signal.

wtf ... how the .. dislikes?!? why. why do you search for ''aron ralstone'' and push a video that says aron ralstone interview and push dislike why. if you don't want to see this then don't push dislike just push ''BACK'' assholes
noahdestefano1 8 months ago 21
@noahdestefano1 Actually, this is the reason the smarter online services don't have a dislike button. This destructive, negative attitude has no point whatsoever. But it is still very popular for some reason. I don't get it either, why can't they just move on? Funny and sad.
