He does not worry because you are all ignorant on how to use the constitution and foolish enough to stand under the bill of rights.
First and foremost, you want to use the declaration of independence because it defines our Republic and proves it as such. Then you turn to the constitution which is our nation's charter.
Beyond that, you want to stand under nothing including the bill of rights. It's a Bill you pay with taxes for the governing of your rights. You are not obligated to it though.
(Cont) The Constitution is a relatively short document, that adresses the rights of citizens, how the govt runs ( like when the president has to leave office), and specific restrictions of the government. That's it. Btw, love how you titled this two words short. He actually said, "I don't worry about the Constitution ON THIS. Did he say he doesn't care about it? No. But he doesn't worry about it on a subject that has nothing to do with the Constitution. I'm done.
@celloguy23 You don't know what the 17 enumerated powers are. And you don't know what post roads are. Brilliant. And obviously you've never read the Bill of Rights, because the 9th & 10th would fall on you like a mountain. But that doesn't matter to folks like you, who want the power in the hands of the few, rather than in the hands of the People, where it lawfully belongs.
If you're calling the new health care plan unconstitutional because it isn't "mentioned in the constitution"...then you must think that highways are "unconstitutional" as well...under the constitution, the Federal Highway Administration has no basis to be run, does it?
@mersk100 thanks for trying to patronize me. Okay, I'm a Constitution trampling liberal. Happy? Can we get back to the topic at hand? I just named a list of federally run organizations and associations that aren't mentioned in the constitution. Republicans nowadays like to claim anything that's not specifically mentioned in the Constitution "Un-Constitutional". Are those organizations unconstitutional? Yes or no?
@jahartmu (continued) And btw, the Bill of Rights refers to individuals. :) So don't worry! When the federal government offers to help out because you've nearly killed yourself smashing your pickup truck into a tree, just say "No! That's unconstitutional. I don't need your help, I got mah guns!" (2nd amendment, btw)
@jahartmu (continued) the Environmental Protection Agency, the Public Health Service that helped stamp out polio and smallpox (is it unconstitutional to get rid of polio and smallpox?), the Coast Guard and plenty of other government organizations. Are these organizations unconstitutionally run? (Tbc)
@jahartmu okay. To put it in simpler terms, no where in the constitution is a single word mentioned about the FDA, FBI, Secret Service, CIA, Federal Aviation Administration, medicare, social security, the Department of Agriculture, National Transportation Safety Board, the Federal Highway Administration(to be cont.)
@jahartmu right. But just because something isn't in the Constitution, doesn't mean that it cannot be done. There are a million things that the Federal government has the right to do, and plenty of those things are *not* mentioned in the Constitution.
GOD FICKING DAMMIT. i CANT HEAR THIS ANYMORE!!! WHERE IN THE FUCKING CONSTITUTION DOES IN SAY THAT YOU CAN MOW YOUR LAWN? OR BUY A T.V.?? OR HAVE SEX WITH YOUR WIFE! Jesus Christ not everything is in the God damn Constitution!! Where in the Constitution does it say that you can play ball with your son? Where in the constitution does it say that he CANT do whatever you were mentioning?
@celloguy23 If the federal government were an American individual, you would have a point. Since a limited federal government is the Constitution's topic, your unhinged rant is complete nonsense.
@celloguy23 10th Amendment. The constitution is a document that limits government. The foundation of the document is Liberty. Look up what Liberty means, there's a good vid on you tube "the philosophy of liberty". Liberty is assured by what government can not do, not what it can do.

What a fat liberal douche who should be shot for treason. There are quite a few elected officials, POTUS included, with this state of mind who should go to the gallows.
This is the arrogance that our congressmen and women have now days....To say that they don't care about the constitution is the same as treason in my book....These bastards should be tarred and feathered....It's time to throw out all of the incumbent bastards that could care less about America...Including Republicans who could care less about our rights when they voted for "The Patriot Act"....The Patriot act is also an abomination.
megarational sure sounds like a politican. Is that you Phil Hare attempting to defend your moronic statement? That constitution that you don't care about is what gives you the right to be in the position you are in. Take off your mask and reveal your real name!

50% do not pay taxes? ObamaCare means higher taxes and no service being delivered for a good while to come. "Health care overhaul spawns mass confusion for public" headlines of the McClatchy group today. They say 'Where do we get the free Obama care, and how do I sign up for that?' Where are the democrats when you need them? The people who pay taxes did not vote for Obama but the one's who do not pay taxes voted the boy dictator in. If you do not pay taxes you do not vote!

You think the GOP give a shit about the constitution or anything other than regaining power?
They just use bullshit like "loss of freedom" and "constitution" and "government takeover" and "death panels" and "socialized medicine" and "government coming between you and your doctor" as emotion loaded phrases to fire up the ignorant bottom of the barrel retards who are to stupid to do the research and realize that the health care reforms are none of that.
This is a good man with his heart in the right place, wanting to do something to help the tens of millions of Americans without h.c. insurance, being ambushed by the lunatic fringe.
There was no debate.
One truthful line was when the congressman said "you don't know what I think" in reply to an absurd accusation.
@megarational lunatic fringe? that term applies to the Dems who disreguarded vast majority of Americans that did not want, can not afford, and know that this bill will do the opposite of helping out health care problems, it will only expand the problems that we currently have with Medicare.
@megarational CBO says it would reduce the deficit by less than 200 million over ten years, as we have to pay 10 years to get 6 years of coverage, what happens in the next ten years? our children get stuck with as giant price tag. Also CBO numbers don't include the 200+ million a year from the Doctor fix, as that was left out to mislead the public with fuzzy math. And all Media is biased get over crying about Fox News.

I will enter the heath care debate if I so choose.
What makes me choose to do so is the ignorance, absurd lies, misinformation and propaganda from idiots like you, especially when you lie not only about your own h.c. system but also the health care systems of other countries.
@CandelarioGaIvan "He has gone to a renowned expert in the procedure that he needs to have done," said Ms. Dunderdale, who will become acting premier while Mr. Williams is away for three to 12 weeks.
Regardless of the h.c. financing system nothing says a particular surgeon in another country may not be more experienced in a particular type of surgery.
The truest mark of whether Canadians are happy with their health care system is what they say:
@CandelarioGaIvan 2009 poll by Nanos Research:86.2% of Canadians surveyed supported or strongly supported "public solutions to..health care. 2009 Harris/Decima poll: 82% of Canadians preferred their healthcare system to the one in the United States, more than ten times as many as the 8% stating a preference for a US-style health care system.. Strategic Counsel survey in 2008: 91% of Canadians preferring their healthcare system to that of the U.S
@CandelarioGaIvan The premier is from a small province and regardless of where he gets the treatment he would have to travel. In CAN he can get a private room but in a US hospital he can rent a luxurious suite for him and his family that travel with him, and recover in sunny Florida instead of cold Montreal in February. . Money is not an issue for him.
@CandelarioGaIvan Free had nothing to do with it. He is from a small province and went to a specialist with more experience in that particular surgical procedure.
"Virtually all forms of cardiac surgery are looked after in Canada, and I would say extremely well," said Dr. Chris Feindel, a cardiac surgeon at Toronto's University Health Network. "Personally .I would have my cardiac surgery done in Can. no matter what resources I had at my disposal."
In fact, he said, patients from the UNITED STATES and other countries come to the UHN's Peter Munk Cardiac Centre for valve repairs, a procedure developed by Toronto surgeons.
@CandelarioGaIvan If you are referring to Dr. Chris Feindel, he is not a government employee.
Contrary to some of the misinformation you may have heard on the anti-hc reform propaganda videos that have blanked youtube, doctors in Canada are private.
@78topper And it's great. Never have to file a claim or fight an insurance co. All citizens are covered, not like you fools that leave tens of millions without coverage.
We have no co-payments or deductibles. Never worry about losing coverage if we switch jobs. Small businesses don't have to worry about the burden of h.c. premiums for employees. And because of the administrative simplicity and the bargaining power of a single payer we pay 7% less of GDP than you and have longer life expectancy.
The fact is that if you get sick or injured in Canada you just go see a doctor and get whatever treatment the doctor prescribes. No deductibles. No claims to file. No co-payments. No hassle. You simply don't get any bill. You don't have to fight government for anything.
@CandelarioGaIvan I''ve lived 50 years in Can, & I'm 62. There has been many times over the years where I have had to see a doctor for illness and injuries, had hospital stays, had operations. Not once, not ever, did any government bureaucrat ever interfere in any way with whatever treatment my doctors prescribed. Peop le like you disgust me when you repeat Fox Fiction lies about your own system & lie about the h.c. reform. You disgust me even more when you lie about other countries.
It hasn't been a problem. The doctor determines what tests are needed, and you get them.
We don't have to file claims.
But if you want to talk about claim denials, rumor has it that fighting an insurance company or HMO to get a claim paid is quite a common experience in the U.S.
@megarational , actually Medicare and the VA system (the two government run health insurance systems) have a far worse track record for denying claims than any private insurer.
@cazinger Another uninformed person mentioning Medicare's higher claim denial rates without the critical info. necessary to interpret it.
1) demographics are differerent, 2) claim denial reasons are different & 3) those high denial rights are largely due to giving too much latitude to private insur. co. "carriers" and their Local Medical Review Policies (LMRP's) to deny claims submitted for reimbursement under Medicare.
@cazinger Claims are reviewed and paid by private insurance companies serving as agents of the Federal Government, and their standards vary from place to place. If the LMRP's allow the claim - Medicare pays.
One thing that is also relevant - under h.c. reform plans must cover proven effective preventative care and no claim can be denied for pre-existing conditions and no "caps". Those measures will reduce claim denials in both public and private systems.
@78topper If you are older, especially if you have a medical issue, you can't even get affordable private insurance in the U.S. You rely on Medicare.
So unless you are talking about a wealthy person you are comparing one public system with another when you are talking about older people getting hip replacements.
Wait times in Canada are tracked by national and provincial governments and the results are made public. The U.S. does not track wait times.
@78topper Although Canada has had u.h.c. since the 1950's the wait times for hip replacements have increased in recent years. It is one area that needs improvement and because wait times in Canada are publicized there is intense political pressure to bring hip replacement times back down. It's being addressed both provincially and nationally. Both the cause and the solutions are independent of the u.h.c financing system. Canada, like the U.S. and other nations, needs more doctors.
@78topper Solutions include: heavily subsidized medical tuition's; fast tracking foreign doctors being able to get residencies once they pass the Canadian medical exams; data base so that someone is not waiting for an operation from a busy surgeon while another has a sorter waiting list.
The wait times can be reduced and that is not a reflection on the massive benefits of the universal h.c. single payer financing system.
@78topper If you are talking about older people but not at the age to qualify for Medicare - Canada wins hands down because people in that bracket can find it almost impossible to get affordable private insurance in the U.S.
The only reason Canada is able to get by with it's system is because you have a neighbor with unlimited medical resources where your govt can send its people when your system will not suffice. Thats why so many of you come here for diagnostics. Sure the govt pays for it, but what will YOU do once our capacity is also as limited? Where will you get theose proceedures not available in Canada?
What is fact not fiction is that Canadians overwhelmingly prefer their system to the one in the U.S. and that we cover all citizens. We don't leave tens of millions without coverage
You bragging about a system where thousands die each year because they delayed seeing a doctor because they were uninsured is hideous.
I am not bragging about our system, I am just saying I prefer it to yours. If your system is so wonderful then fine, have it. I would not presume to tell you how to handle your healthcare. I have never felt the need to interfere in any canadian political issue. It does iritate the hell out of me when peopel from other countries feel the need to interject themselves into our politics.
@78topper And it disgusts the hell out of me when some people in the U.S. inaccurately and unfairly disparage the Canadian system as a way of opposing h.c.reform in the U.S. YouTube propaganda videos and sleazy con-artists like Beck do it all the time.
First, nothing in the U.S. h.c. reform bill will make your system like ours. Private insurance companies remain in the drivers seat in the U.S. even after the h.c. bill. .
@megarational you are correct in that private health care remain in the drivers seat. but only for the time being. the simple law that mandates they cover preexisting conditions will collapse the private insurance companies. the way insurance companies work they will not be able to offset the cost that will be needed for people that are constantly visiting the hospital. the end goal is a single payer government run health care system. you tube footage of the people running this country.
I feel sorry for you. Instead of calling you names, I will give you a couple of clues. If you can get the answer from the clues, then you will understand how ridiculous your comment was:
Clue one: In a misguided attempt at bipartisanship the public option was dropped so you have no choice but to buy from profit making corporations.
Clue two: What do you think insurance companies do when their costs increase?
@megarational you are correct in that private health care remain in the drivers seat. but only for the time being. the simple law that mandates they cover preexisting conditions will collapse the private insurance companies. the way insurance companies work they will not be able to offset the cost that will be needed for people that are constantly visiting the hospital. the end goal is a single payer government run health care system. you tube footage of the people running this country.
@78topper You seem to have been all agitated every since you were forced to admit that there is no provision in the h.c.bill that would mean a government bureaucrat coming between you and your doctor.
Maybe you just prefer to keep repeating the Fox Fiction misinformation and hate it when anyone exposes you.
By the way HARE, WE ARE YOUR BOSS. You do not raise your voice to us LIAR! You do NOT call your boss a Nazi! YOU are a servant of the public... you DO NOT WALK OUT on your boss.

We need regular citizens to take back this country before it's too late. check this out OurVotesMatter. com
@megarational And the health care bill will not only ruin our health care system, it will cripple businesses that provide health insurance to employees, it will make it even harder for un-insured to buy into the system

@superstarstoogedude What, you want the freedom not to have your insurance company drop your coverage if you get sick?
You want the freedom to be denied coverage for a pre-existing condition?
You want the freedom to ensure a part of your health care premiums go to corporate profits, mega CEO salaries, advertising departments and sales commissions, corporate jets, campaign contributions and lobbying?
@superstarstoogedude Hey shit for brains super stooge. i asked you a question. How is it socialized medicine when private doctors and hospitals are still private and private insurance corporations still dominate the market.
Come on you low life Limbaugh loving GOP bullshit propagating Fox Fiction groupie.
@1111norton hey dipshit, even an ordinary paperback novel is on average 400 pages, and that's without the huge margins, indexing, lists of definitions etc of the h.c. reform bills; And a paper back novel doesn't deal with the complexities of the nations health care system.
The GOP kept repeating the number of pages in order to impress the idiots. Seems to have succeeded in your case.
The congressman clearly lies at 1:47 and 1:51. If he was truthful, his limbic brain will react opposite to his reaction, when he was asked if he read the bill 3 times. He responded by lowering his chin and eyes (eyes narrow or close) while starting his response. If he was truthful, his chin would rise, and eyes would brighten from the challenge.
All I am doing is pointing out how much of a liar this person is.
However, you on the other hand, of apparently some seniority, should have some wisdom.
When we criticize others, it says nothing about that person, but our own need to be critical. Criticizing others, is a cheap way at attempting to restore ones sense of self-worth.
@1111norton ummmm. OK, I guess. Geeze are you making some sort of point?
You do realize, don't you, that this debate is whether there is a moral justification of ensuring that Americans all have access to quality affordable health care?
Wow, you didn't get or understand the quote in my last post, "All I am doing is pointing out how much of a liar this person is." ? Don't know how much clearer I could have been?
This video is about him not caring about the Constitution of the U.S., which he took an oath to defend. Forcing people to purchase insurance from a profit motivated insurance company is an encroachment on liberty.
Socialize the whole system for non profit, and collect the money via consumption tax.
@1111norton Maybe pointing out that "criticizing others is a cheap way at attempting to restore ones sense of self-worth" should be brought up at a Tea Party rally?
@CandelarioGaIvan The Bush domestic policies widened the gap between rich and poor.
That is the fact, not the premise.
It continued the trend cited by the census, of the increasing concentration of wealth at the top end and that the portion of the nations total wealth held by middle and lower class continues to decrease.
@CandelarioGaIvan Let's take this slower so maybe even a dumb sack of shit like you can understand it.
The Walmart employee makes X and pay's tax on the income.
A wealthy person can, thanks to Bush make 100 times or even 1000 times the walmart employees salary in dividends and not pay one stinking penny of tax on his dividend income. .
Of course people travel overseas for those procedures which are much cheaper over seas. If an infection develops or complications. The doctor washes his hands and says oh well.
Would you travel to Mexico and have dental work done by someone who stands zero risk of any consequences of a screw up???
And as an avid reader I can read a 400 page novel during a weekend (and on 3 occasions in a single day) Would you accept a 2700 page document to determine public censorship
This congressmen is a complete idiot to start with
1 The constitution is the supreme law of the land (not just a scrap of paper he can quote when it is convenient)
2 If the constitution is so flexible what is to stop this person from ignoring other parts of the Constitution? (which he clearly says it doesn't matter to him)
3 Shame on him for not even knowing the difference between the Constitution and the Deceleration of Independence. (what other things does he not know)
@CandelarioGaIvan Go to an auto parts dealership. The parts catalogs run into the thousands of pages. That is no censorship either. It's just to deal with a large and complex system.
@CandelarioGaIvan So you are saying average people don't work behind the parts counter?
Or are you saying that parts catalogs are not written for the average person but complex legislation is written for the average person to read, maybe with a beer and the night lamp on?
Your right the next time you have a legal issue don't call an attorney just get a few of your buddies some beer and figure it out yourselves. Just think all the money that is wasted on lawyers every year.
Now do you think free speech is a complex subject???
Would you agree with Bush putting out a 2700 page door stop and calling it the law of the land when it comes to people being able to express themselves
To show that this thing is a monster that nobody has bothered to read. we both know that no one person has read that thing, It takes months to write a 300 page novel in which one is free to bend the laws of physics and nature at will.
As to debate the provisions??? Debate what? The GOV has overstepped their bonds nothing more need be said
If no one read the bill how did the CBO say it would reduce the deficit, cover another 31 million, create a competitive exchange so small businesses and individuals could pool their purchasing power for lower premiums, give small businesses h.premium tax credits, prohibit insurance companies from dropping your coverage if you get sick, eliminate annual and lifetime "caps", prohibit being denied coverage for preexisting conditions, and allow youth to stay on parents coverage until age 26?
@CandelarioGaIvan In case you are the last doofus on the planet to realize it, the GOP were never interested in debate. Their sole goal was to kill any bill as a way of bringing Obama down.
The GOP tactic was never debate but rather stirring up the rabble with incendiary labels and rhetoric like "death panels" and "socialism" and "government takeover".
@CandelarioGaIvan If it reformed the he.c. syst. so that insur. co's couldn't drop your coverage if you got sick, ended annual & lifetime caps on benefits, prevented those w/ preexisting conditions from being denied h. insur., extended insur. tp 31 million more, allowed youth to stay on parents h. plan until 26, created an ombudsman for those who ave been screwed by their insurance co,,
@CandelarioGaIvan closed the doughnut hole for seniors, provided money to extend the life of Medicare by a decade and reduced the deficit, created an exchange for small business to pool buying power - I would be all for it.
@CandelarioGaIvan That's nothing. Republican Richard Nixon tried for national health care back in 1971. The Dem.'s and insurance industry were able to kill it with the same type of partisan obstruction and misinformation that were used this time by the GOP and insurance industry.
But don't get me started on Bush domestic policies. His three main domestic policies all increased the gap between rich and poor.
@CandelarioGaIvan The U.S. has one of the widest rich-poor gaps of any high-income nation, & it continues to grow. Prominent economists incl'd Alan Greenspan warned that the widening U.S. rich-poor gap is a prob. that could undermine and destabilize the U.S. economy and standard of living stating: "The income gap between the rich and the rest of the US pop. has become so wide, and is growing so fast, that it might eventually threaten the stability of democratic capitalism itself".
@CandelarioGaIvan Every major Bush domestic push widened the gap between rich and poor. He made dividends tax exempt. Since rich people own more stocks than do poor people it made the tax system more regressive and rewarded wealth more than work. He gave massive unfunded tax cuts that primarily benefited the rich. He eliminated the inheritance tax that had applied to the wealthy, and allowed financial empires to be passed on intact and further solidified the gap between rich and poor.
@CandelarioGaIvan Medical tourism is expected to expand quickly in the coming yr.s because of rising h.c. osts in the United States, increasing availability of international facilities with United States accreditation, and the fact that insurers and employers are beginning to embrace the practice.
@CandelarioGaIvan Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina, for example, has started a subsidiary company, Companion Global Healthcare, to offer medical tourism services to individuals and businesses. Hannaford supermarkets in Maine recently added an international option for hip replacements to its health care plan.
Said commentary when he swears to uphold the Constitution then says he doesn't care what the Constitution says. People keep voting these retards back into office! Shame on my home state of Illinois!!!
@MikeWBL He says "I'm not not worried about it" and in the context of the dialogue it obviously means that what he is worried about most is doing something for the tens of millions of the uninsured.
He does not worry because you are all ignorant on how to use the constitution and foolish enough to stand under the bill of rights.
First and foremost, you want to use the declaration of independence because it defines our Republic and proves it as such. Then you turn to the constitution which is our nation's charter.

And because of the administrative simplicity and the bargaining power of a single payer we pay 7% less of GDP than you and have longer life expectancy.

CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan I''ve lived 50 years in Can, & I'm 62. There has been many times over the years where I have had to see a doctor for illness and injuries, had hospital stays, had operations. Peop le like you disgust me when you repeat Fox Fiction lies about your own system & lie about the h.c. reform. You disgust me even more when you lie about other countries.
megarational 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan That is a key difference between the system in the U.S. and the one in Canada.
In Canada your treatment is dictated by the medical condition.
In the U.S. the treatment is according to the fine print in your private insurance contract and the size of your wallet. .
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
If that were the case Canada would have more MRIs than the City of Houston. The fact is that treated is dictated by a GOV officials political pull.
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@megarational
Is it your claim that absolutely ANY surgery is available to ANY canadian regardless of age?
Any canadian can request and obtain as many diagnositc tests as needed, and these will all be approved and paid for in full by the govt?
No claim is ever denied in Canada?
You sir, are a damned liar.
78topper 1 year ago
@78toppe
It hasn't been a problem. The doctor determines what tests are needed, and you get them.
We don't have to file claims.
But if you want to talk about claim denials, rumor has it that fighting an insurance company or HMO to get a claim paid is quite a common experience in the U.S.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational

CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan You should just stick to lying about your own system.
It's really slimy when you also stoop to lying about the h.c. system of another country.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational , actually Medicare and the VA system (the two government run health insurance systems) have a far worse track record for denying claims than any private insurer.
cazinger 1 year ago
@cazinger Another uninformed person mentioning Medicare's higher claim denial rates without the critical info. necessary to interpret it.
1) demographics are differerent, 2) claim denial reasons are different & 3) those high denial rights are largely due to giving too much latitude to private insur. co. "carriers" and their Local Medical Review Policies (LMRP's) to deny claims submitted for reimbursement under Medicare.
megarational 1 year ago
@cazinger Claims are reviewed and paid by private insurance companies serving as agents of the Federal Government, and their standards vary from place to place. If the LMRP's allow the claim - Medicare pays.
One thing that is also relevant - under h.c. reform plans must cover proven effective preventative care and no claim can be denied for pre-existing conditions and no "caps". Those measures will reduce claim denials in both public and private systems.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
Oh it sounds just dreamy! You guys dont have a care in the world.
Fact is, the majority of Canadians who like the system are mostly the younger, healthier people who only require an occaisional visit,.
A lot of the less healthy, or elderly people who rely more on treatment are not quite so adoring of the system,
I know you are older yourself, just be glad you have not had to wait 6 months for a hip replacment yet.
78topper 1 year ago
@78topper If you are older, especially if you have a medical issue, you can't even get affordable private insurance in the U.S. You rely on Medicare.
So unless you are talking about a wealthy person you are comparing one public system with another when you are talking about older people getting hip replacements.
Wait times in Canada are tracked by national and provincial governments and the results are made public. The U.S. does not track wait times.
megarational 1 year ago
@78topper If you want to discuss wait times it might be useful to compare the wait times for those without h. insurance coverage.
Oh, wait a minute, Canada doesn't have any citizens not covered.
megarational 1 year ago
@78topper Although Canada has had u.h.c. since the 1950's the wait times for hip replacements have increased in recent years. It is one area that needs improvement and because wait times in Canada are publicized there is intense political pressure to bring hip replacement times back down. It's being addressed both provincially and nationally. Both the cause and the solutions are independent of the u.h.c financing system. Canada, like the U.S. and other nations, needs more doctors.
megarational 1 year ago
@78topper Solutions include: heavily subsidized medical tuition's; fast tracking foreign doctors being able to get residencies once they pass the Canadian medical exams; data base so that someone is not waiting for an operation from a busy surgeon while another has a sorter waiting list.
The wait times can be reduced and that is not a reflection on the massive benefits of the universal h.c. single payer financing system.
megarational 1 year ago
@78topper If you are talking about older people but not at the age to qualify for Medicare - Canada wins hands down because people in that bracket can find it almost impossible to get affordable private insurance in the U.S.
megarational 1 year ago

megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
nope, sorry. good try but I'm not buying it.
78topper 1 year ago
@78topper You can create any fiction you want to.
It's what I would expect of a Fox Fiction fan.
What is fact not fiction is that Canadians overwhelmingly prefer their system to the one in the U.S. and that we cover all citizens. We don't leave tens of millions without coverage

Tell me just how did he do that?
Did he give someone a raise?
Did he give someone a cut in pay?
Or did he let people keep some of their money?
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan I already gave you the information.
It's all factual and if you didn't know it before it's easy to verify.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
It isn't the facts but your premise that is in question.
Did Bush give someone a pay raise?
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan The Bush domestic policies widened the gap between rich and poor.
That is the fact, not the premise.
It continued the trend cited by the census, of the increasing concentration of wealth at the top end and that the portion of the nations total wealth held by middle and lower class continues to decrease.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
That is your premise. Unless Bush gave those people a pay raise or someone else a pay cut. His policy didn't do any such thing.
let me give you an example. Someone working in walmart makes X amount a month. Did Bush policy decrease his pay????
Bill Gates makes X amount a month. Did Bush policy give him a pay raise? Did it make more people buy his product?
Unless Bush made walmart Employees salary go down it is your opinion that Bush made Bill Gates more productive.
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan Let's take this slower so maybe even a dumb sack of shit like you can understand it.
The Walmart employee makes X and pay's tax on the income.
A wealthy person can, thanks to Bush make 100 times or even 1000 times the walmart employees salary in dividends and not pay one stinking penny of tax on his dividend income. .

@1111norton The off camera questioner was a total goof.
This congressman's only error was hoping for some rationality instead of just kicking the idiot in the balls.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational,
He says, "I believes in life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness?
He lies again.
Liberty:
1. a. The condition of being free from restriction or control.
b. The right and power to act, believe, or express oneself in a manner of one's own choosing.
2. Freedom from unjust or undue governmental control.
Pursuit of happiness:
He lies again. I am happy keeping my own after tax money, and spending it how I see fit, and not give it to profit making insurance companies.

@megarational
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
This congressmen is a complete idiot to start with
1 The constitution is the supreme law of the land (not just a scrap of paper he can quote when it is convenient)
2 If the constitution is so flexible what is to stop this person from ignoring other parts of the Constitution? (which he clearly says it doesn't matter to him)
3 Shame on him for not even knowing the difference between the Constitution and the Deceleration of Independence. (what other things does he not know)
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan Go to an auto parts dealership. The parts catalogs run into the thousands of pages. That is no censorship either. It's just to deal with a large and complex system.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
Their is a reason the parts catalogs are so complex. They are not written for the average person.
Hence the need for a complex book devided into deffernt chapters and so fourth.
Which tells me that this guy voted for something that he didn't understand.
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan If so it would be no different than you railing against something you don't understand.
megarational 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan So you are saying average people don't work behind the parts counter?
Or are you saying that parts catalogs are not written for the average person but complex legislation is written for the average person to read, maybe with a beer and the night lamp on?
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
Your right the next time you have a legal issue don't call an attorney just get a few of your buddies some beer and figure it out yourselves. Just think all the money that is wasted on lawyers every year.
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@megarational
Now do you think free speech is a complex subject???
Would you agree with Bush putting out a 2700 page door stop and calling it the law of the land when it comes to people being able to express themselves
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan Why do you think Republicans were always holding up the 2700 pages?
Because it impresses or frightens dim-witted people.
Also saves them from actually having to debate the actual provisions of the bill.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
To show that this thing is a monster that nobody has bothered to read. we both know that no one person has read that thing, It takes months to write a 300 page novel in which one is free to bend the laws of physics and nature at will.
As to debate the provisions??? Debate what? The GOV has overstepped their bonds nothing more need be said
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
If no one read the bill how did the CBO say it would reduce the deficit, cover another 31 million, create a competitive exchange so small businesses and individuals could pool their purchasing power for lower premiums, give small businesses h.premium tax credits, prohibit insurance companies from dropping your coverage if you get sick, eliminate annual and lifetime "caps", prohibit being denied coverage for preexisting conditions, and allow youth to stay on parents coverage until age 26?
megarational 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan In case you are the last doofus on the planet to realize it, the GOP were never interested in debate. Their sole goal was to kill any bill as a way of bringing Obama down.
The GOP tactic was never debate but rather stirring up the rabble with incendiary labels and rhetoric like "death panels" and "socialism" and "government takeover".
megarational 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan You don't have free speech now that the heath care reform is passed?
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
I guess that example went over your head.
Had Bush put out a 2700 page anything what would you have said to it?
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan If it reformed the he.c. syst. so that insur. co's couldn't drop your coverage if you got sick, ended annual & lifetime caps on benefits, prevented those w/ preexisting conditions from being denied h. insur., extended insur. tp 31 million more, allowed youth to stay on parents h. plan until 26, created an ombudsman for those who ave been screwed by their insurance co,,
cont'd next comment
megarational 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan closed the doughnut hole for seniors, provided money to extend the life of Medicare by a decade and reduced the deficit, created an exchange for small business to pool buying power - I would be all for it.
megarational 1 year ago
@megarational
Now who is the liar????
Did you support GW Bush school voucher program????
The DNC shot it down
CandelarioGaIvan 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan That's nothing. Republican Richard Nixon tried for national health care back in 1971. The Dem.'s and insurance industry were able to kill it with the same type of partisan obstruction and misinformation that were used this time by the GOP and insurance industry.
But don't get me started on Bush domestic policies. His three main domestic policies all increased the gap between rich and poor.
megarational 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan The U.S. has one of the widest rich-poor gaps of any high-income nation, & it continues to grow. Prominent economists incl'd Alan Greenspan warned that the widening U.S. rich-poor gap is a prob. that could undermine and destabilize the U.S. economy and standard of living stating: "The income gap between the rich and the rest of the US pop. has become so wide, and is growing so fast, that it might eventually threaten the stability of democratic capitalism itself".
megarational 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan Every major Bush domestic push widened the gap between rich and poor. He made dividends tax exempt. Since rich people own more stocks than do poor people it made the tax system more regressive and rewarded wealth more than work. He gave massive unfunded tax cuts that primarily benefited the rich. He eliminated the inheritance tax that had applied to the wealthy, and allowed financial empires to be passed on intact and further solidified the gap between rich and poor.

@CandelarioGaIvan Medical tourism is expected to expand quickly in the coming yr.s because of rising h.c. osts in the United States, increasing availability of international facilities with United States accreditation, and the fact that insurers and employers are beginning to embrace the practice.
megarational 1 year ago
@CandelarioGaIvan Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina, for example, has started a subsidiary company, Companion Global Healthcare, to offer medical tourism services to individuals and businesses. Hannaford supermarkets in Maine recently added an international option for hip replacements to its health care plan.
megarational 1 year ago
@1111norton Maybe they could put the health care bill out in comic book form for morons like you.

(he also says he was joking) lol does not seem that way. Oh and He also voted for Obama Care.
TheZachish 1 year ago
@MikeWBL The GOP gined up the rabble with this "constitutional" red herring the same way it tried to stir people up with the "death panels" rhetoric.
megarational 1 year ago
@MikeWBL He says "I'm not not worried about it" and in the context of the dialogue it obviously means that what he is worried about most is doing something for the tens of millions of the uninsured.
