  • what a great mix of musical geniuses

  • i like how gwen was singing in the hook aswell

  • 2:43 Get it Kelis, lol :-)

  • I love this song! :) One of my fav by Kelis!!

  • I know people probably won't agree with me, but I think this song captured the true potential and true talent of No Doubt as a band, and of Kelis' eclectic style of music. I've always loved No Doubt, but this made me look at the band as true music lovers instead of just a "rock band". And it made me see that kelis could easily do rock if she wanted to. beautiful collaboration!

  • @99cashlady I agree 1000%!! This is a perfect song for the perfect day with the perfect artists and producers. Perfect!...In case I didn't make that clear

  • niiiiiiiiiiiice =D

  • For the record, Gwen is not on this track. It was a song considered for the Rock Steady album

  • I wish they made a video for this track - kelis and gwen singing together - the video would have been soo sexy

  • Give a little love..... Now break it down Pharrell 2:56

  • One of my favorite songs from Kelis.

  • why can't you hear gwen in the track?

  • @littlelouisvuitton- the track is for Kelis FEATURING 'No Doubt'. Gwen is singing the chorus, that's it.

  • okay this is over analyzation to the MAX, but there's a small sample of Michael Jackson's "who is it" in this song! Man, that just goes to show Mikes vast influence.

  • Sample??? The Neptunes RARELY sample. Interpolate? Yes, but not to often. Best example of the Neptunes interpolating is for Snoop Dogg's "Let's Get Blown". They interpolated the track "Watching You" from the late 70's/80's group Slave.

  • @cali22boi BUT DID YOU GO LISTEN? HAHA, I'm saying its the same chords! You can't deny that after listening. And Im a HUGE fan, I know Pharrell, Chad and the whole gang are always on their OG shit. Hear me out, though.

  • Even though I don't show it on YouTube, I'm a BIG MJ fan. I can't hear any relation between these two completely different songs. I even banged out the chords on my synths between the two songs and and there is no relation. The bass lines different, the bridge, the chorus... just totally different.

  • @cali22boi listen to the chords from 2:58 to about 3:05 or so. The BACKGROUND angelic heavenly sound. She's right. Then listen to the BEGINNING of "who is it".

  • just LISTEN. 2:56, the chords are the exact same as the INTRO to mike's "who is it". Its not that outstanding. I had to FIND it, and so will you.

  • Where is she now ;(

  • Prolly in court w/ Nas! XD

  • lol

  • 2:56 almost beats the hell outta Anti Matter....

N*E*R*D/Neptunes... These times were the best...

  • This is my fave track by kelis.. pure awesomeness. Whats happening with neptunes/n*e*r*d lately? They're are my favourite group and they're still great but they sound nothing like this anymore :(

  • i feel the same way about that but everyone has to change sometime, for better or for worse...

  • when you hit that much fame and success, you're bound to get soft. you're not hungry as you used to be, and you find a winning formula that's easy to do.

they still have a few good jams every once in a while though, like 'you know what' on the new n.e.r.d album.

  • yeah totally, they've gone soft and not as hungry, they're beats now sound like demos and not enough substance in the beats. i think 2002-2004 was their best year where they prod. bits of justins ablum, kelis, britney, jay-z etc, they were 'real neptune sounds' but they've lost it now. i think they should look back and grab some inspiration from those times

  • @tulley50

dont forget the neptunes ultimate beat- "im a slave 4 u"

  • @CocaineHabbit sorry bruh, but "i'm a slave 4 u" is just the neptunes version of the PRINCE produce track "nasty girl" performed by vanity 6. look it and you'll be surprised that we are still in a way living in the early 80's

  • this song is amazing!

kelis is amazing, kaleidoscope & wanderland are her best work TO DATE!

  • I love the rock vibe. This is a great blend of R&B and rock

  • How in the HELL did I forget about this amazing song???! I used to play it everyday!

    *adds to ipod immediately*

  • Defo best track on the album, it's a shame they didnt make a video for this instead but also good it's not so mainstream or the song gets boring

  • (smile)

  • this a hot track...

  • that would be dope if the whole track was like the neptune portion. i guess this is the first time we got to see how the neptune sound would sound with live instrumentation.

kinda reminds me of some gundam wing shit.

  • uhhmmm....ISO by N*E*R*D. It was recorded twice (you know that)....Great example is the difference between the electronic version of "Am I High" to the 'live' version. Maybe you should put a Gundam Wing vid to "Perfect Day"

  • Mostly all of N.E.R.D music is with instruments. This is definitely not the first.

  • the album this song appears on came out before the live version of "in search of...", when they experimented more with live instruments.

  • oh man! i forgot how much i love this song. niiice!
