Isn't this weird? How this episode sticks out the most in my mind too, like "wandingstar" said? Because from this tv show I remember the most this episode and when they are in some tree house and they wear balloons as boobs
I believe that it's difficult for little kids to open a fridge because of air pressure changing when the door closes, and depending on if they pull it tightly closed with a shelf on the inside, it squeezes air out, creating a greater air pressure difference than there was when the child opened it.
My freezer is hard to open if it's pushed shut too hard, and then I can hear air going in when pulling on it. I can see how a child could get stuck in there
@captxena31 Me too! I bought the entire series of "Punky Brewster" and bought Soleil's new book! I also remember this episode from years ago standing out. I really enjoy this show because of the clean humor and funny yet somewhat real storylines. I do miss the classic TV I (we, 30s+) grew up with! I can live without the built-in public service announcements built into some of the shows in the mid-late 80s into the 90s.
I wasn't born anytime during the Punky Brewster series, but i love this show so much. I love it so much, and it makes me feel so good about everything.
Yes! I have described this episode to a few people when Punky Brewster came up in conversation and no one remembered it. I was like "You know the episode where Punky's friend gets locked in the fridge!" I almost thought that I invented this episode in my head! Now I can have a piece of mind!
Realisticaly, at the very end when Cherie is yelling for help, she may have been standing behind the fridge...
Later when Henry opens it up to find Cherie, she probably was in there for like 2 seconds and she knew that Henry would be opening the fridge to get her out.
And Cherie was just told to act and look unconscious for those few seconds.
Oh Lord poor Punky Hyperextended the neck before giving the breathes. It does not work that way. You will close off the airway compelety. She and margo did a good job, though. I love love this show
Ha, that and apparently Mike forgot to teach them that you need to look at the chest to make sure it's rising with rescue breaths and that you can't do cpr with your elbows bent. And when was the compression-ventilation ratio ever 4:2?
Always found it interesting that despite Margeaux getting a $60/week allowance and living in a huge mansion, she still went to public school and walked there every day.
I remember this one. I think I was about 6 or 7 when it aired. Years before this episode aired, I put my sister in the refrigerator...a working one. Luckily, my mother was standing nearby and got her out and gave me quite the reprimand. I was probably about 3.
I know, this is the one I remember the best. I remember one time when Margo dressed up as Punky or vice versa or something, but this is always the first. I think about this show every time I see an abandoned fridge and trust me... I NEVER went near them, they scared me to death because of this episode!
What name brand is this refrigerator? Cherie should have known better not to go inside & hide in the refrigerator by trapping herself in there & that is a no-no.
I remember my sister and I thought this was so freakin funny as kids and my mom was like "THATS NOT FUNNY!!!" lol...but how is someone getting stuck in a refrigerator not funny? lolol
thanks for downloading and posting this I really appreciate it this is one of my top favorite episodes. I have already downloaded season 1 and I'm in the process of downloading season 2, I own season 3 on dvd and I hope someone who has season 4 will offer it up soon....

Hiding in the fridge is always a big no-no, but those old refrigerators were like death traps...they latched shut.

Well, that's not exactly true, but it keeps the blood moving until paramedics can administer continued CPR, oxygen and the necessary medication.
I know. I'm a paramedic.
If Allen thinks THAT'S gross, he ought to come on an ambulance run w/ us. He'll see a whole lot grosser.
