You can use the keyboard, but the joystick makes things a lot easier!

What kind of a file are you ending up with? Any file ending? Mine works fine.

You may need to go into Windows Explorer\Tools\Folder Options\View and tick 'Show hidden files and folders'. Also untick the box that says 'Hide extensions for known file types'.

Just a quick question Steve. How do I save /open a flight plan I download from simroutes? I download it via the option for FS9, and it saves to my computer but it doesn't save as a PLN file, and therefore, I can't open it via my FMC. Any suggestions

you can input the waypoints manually and create the flight plan totally in FMC, with lateral revision from the departure until arival. It takes more time but, in the real world this is how pilots are doing it :)

Thanks kdes. Yes I realize that, That's how I programme the FMC currently, however, because the FS tools are available to download and store a FP, I fugured I might try that too.

@kdes Actually No......Nowadays pilots just mostly double check routes after punching in the Co-route(company route) which generates all the waypoints for the trip.
