I dont climb wearing tennis shoes. Any one want to see some 800-1000 foot commercial building antenna sites. I do some 120 -180 ' free stand and guyed but no real 300+ guyed work. Cool views, look out not just down!
Oh and one more thing... I dont want to start a war or words with you but when your karma catches up to you and you have an accident and get hurt, I want you to remember the assinine statement you made towards this poster just because he doesn't have the real deal and his video is lame.
Thanks for the retort, The thing about this video is that mine was one of the first of this kind posted as far as views from Radio Towers go, then all of a sudden there were a bunch on here. I climbed many others, but seldom if ever brought a camera up with me. People cant see my cable grab and all the other crap that I have up there, and although it may look unsafe, to some, It was just fine. Im smart enough to have a desk job now anyway. Good luck to you forever tho 77, its a tough job....
you know I can't believe how rude and crude some of you tower children are... not just on this vid but others I've seen as well... WTF? I mean come on guys grow up?... 898 yeah your not a pussy but tell me.. have you not ever done "low" work.. I mean even big iron starts somewhere.... you are the real pussy talking BS like that! When I was 15 years old I free climbed the WTRF-TV tower to the top of the structure (and surely got baked in the process)... would you wish a fall on me?
this guys a pussy i do the real shit 1200-2400 tv work and erecting towers we make zilch seriously this guy is an insult to the business 175 without a real belt and lanyard....fall arrest i hope to hell you fall
Im Never going to fall, because Im never doing this job again thank God. This job was merely a means to an end. Wishing a fall on someone tho takes huge balls dude, Im not the one "doin the real shit 1200-2400 tv work" Im safe and sound on the ground in a nice office as a Network Admin...Have fun in the jetstream BIATCH...
I think everyone is bent out of shape because it LOOKS like you are using webbing in lue of a real positioning lanyard... Use a leather belt for positioning OR a re bar chain...
Don't attack me because I DO take a camera up top and my gear is standard.....
omg. my freind rayendi works for this one company and make four hundred grand a yr. to do this. he is skinny as hell, so he climbs the undsturdy ones.
First of all, you all show your professionalism by clearly jumping to conclusions about my rig. Fact is that I climbed up with a cable grab and you cant see the lanyard that is BEHIND me connected to my D ring on the back of my Harness. The red and blue webbing were merely accessories to hold other gear and to add some pro.I had at least 5 points of pro,but since you guys think that you know everything about climbing perhaps you already knew that. Last I checked you dont video up top either.
I hate climbing, but it is part of the business. I sure the hell would NOT climb with out a belay/lifeline and lanyard (lobster claw), we always have 3 points of safety. That cheesy mounting bolt holding that canopy backhaul could snap like a twig with the force of a fall. I hope wolftrail34 gets a clue!
All of you 'experts' out there need to realize that I climbed up there with a cable grab and once I got into place my lanyard was behind me on my back D ring. The blue and red webbing are just extras in my long line of safety backups. I have been doing this long enough to know how to properly tie myself off. Generally I bet you guys dont videotape yourselves either do you? Well I did and here is the tape, so if you dont mind, can you all screw off and wish a fall on somebody else?
Dude! What the heck? I'm a rigger too, and i saw how you got your anchorage, ya better not fall because if you do...your going to fall to your death...have somone show you how to set it up...wow!
well, I am a professional tower rigger... and well, i was looking at what "PPE" you are wearing... and let me tell you this: you fall, you'll die. Your anchorage point is first of all totally unsafe... you are totally inconsious... and well, i regret that people like you even present such a bad rig and bad tie off on youtube...
This reminds me of the time I climb 420' up a 560' tower to fix a bad coax connector on a 2-meter ham repeater antenna. That was 1973. These days I don't even climb my 58' ham tower anymore. It's hell to get old! :(
horrible video
