  • Thank God for these old videos so many years before MTV! BEATLES 4EVER!

  • yes he was also a great bassist

  • freaking amazing, what a gas; they were great, too bad the live shows they didn't have monitors to hear themselves; too bad it ended when it did; I remember being in shock that they were breaking up.... "what a long strange trip it's been" ...

  • I love their raunchy sound here and the freres jaques backing harmonies by john & george. Great little band they were!

  • john miss up at 1:13

  • 1 PERSON IS BELIBER

  • the Beatles at their best!

  • listen @ :20 he forgot the words

  • lol you can't even hear Paul in paperback writer

  • Johnny rotten.

  • Justin Beaver is shit, beatles for ever...

  • Keep in mind that this is notoriously their worst performance. They hadn't heard themselves at all during their tours because of all the fans' screaming. Here in Japan, the cops kept the audience quiet, and The Beatles found that their playing was extremely rough. And the stupid mikes blow.

  • Paul revolutionized the role of the bass player.making it an important, complementary part of most songs. No one has done it at that level since. It takes a songwriter to accomplish that.

  • @micflor531313 ... what about Entwhistle of The Who? Well, McCartney came before, so he revolutionized it, yeah, huh..., but Entwhistle was very, very good, one of the best rock bassists ever...

  • I get so irritated watching videos of the Beatles performing because of the incessant screaming from the audience. I can only imagine how these poor guys felt.

  • Priceless

  • look at George at 0:30

  • Wow! George was tuning his guitar until he play!

  • This is actually a ply back , watch their guitars aren't plugged in while the mics might be still great footage!!!

  • @NouvoRich This surely is not a playback. You can see the cables running out of their guitars' jacks right to their VOX amps and listen to George tuning his Casino whilst Paul talks to the audience.

  • paul checking his watch classical.....ja ja ja 5:02

  • this japanese mics sucks eventhoug the guys sounds wonderful

  • The Beatles might be the greatest rock band which ever existed. Not might be - were. But - spew vomit right along the road - someone visiting Earth for the first time wouldn't know it from the the hits, or views, tallies on these uploaded videos. Sure, there's a more profuse number of Beatles uploads compared to most other acts, but, still, many of the Beatles contemporaries are giving them a shake in terms of Internet 'hits'. As for Justin Beiber and Lady GaGa,[recent acts], forget about it.

  • los mejores del mundo por siempre. no habra otros.

  • if it wasnt for the beatles god knows where rock and roll would be now

  • At this time they just got tired of playing live so they didn't care that much.

  • the one dislike is from a communist!

  • Okay, big deal, so they had this one good song.

  • Good version of paperback writer, better than the one from the other concert in japan

  • Hey, it was in 65 not in 2000, you just don´t seam to realise, poor people!!!

  • Did they get mixed up on the lyrics of Nowhere Man? Sounds like they weren't singing the same lyrics. John was singing another set while Paul and George were singing another...

  • Hahah, my dog just "sang" along to this! I think she likes it:)

  • @meloveyou38 nowhere dog

  • cant hear paul worth a shyt!!!they look like epie's to me.George always looks like he's just not interested...kind of aloof..not paying attention.loved his music but even later in his career he seemed ...distracted by something...except when he fronted the Wilburys.

  • cant hear paul worth a shyt!!!they look like epie's to me.

  • Although Paul is playing the Hofner bass he nearly always played, Lennon and Harrison are NOT playing the Rickenbacher and Gretsch they normally played. Are there any guitar freaks out there who can identify what they're playing. They look like Gibsons, but they also look like Yamaha's of the era, and they WERE in Tokyo.

  • @theflash1952shodan They're Epiphone Casinos

  • @theflash1952shodan They were Epiphone Casino guitars :) from 1966 they replaced their older stuff to these.

  • Ringo skips the drum roll part.

  • Wireless guitars had not been invented yet. where are there electric cords for the guitars?

  • @frank02111 The Beatles are wizards of music. Gods. No wires necessary.

  • this is the best version of nowhere man.

  • Harrison!!

  • I wish they filmed Paul for his bass flutter at 4:28. I've never seen him play it

  • One of the most powerful performances/renditions of "Nowhere Man" I have ever seen. Lennon forgets the lyric at 1:16, Harrison tunes his "A" string in the first verse, Starr is slightly too low in the mix, but all is redeemed in Harrison's lead break. I cannot watch this without becoming emotionally moved. Their persona of innocence and vulnerability, coupled with their incredibly timeless songwriting has vaulted our Beatles into the ages.

  • this is the greatest music i ever heared

  • stoned

  • Paul has always been my favorite Beatle! Plus!! A lefty and players a Hofner, those are kinda hard to play! I own a Hofner and have been playing bass for years but from time to time I can find it's slenderness a challenge. Long live Paul!! <3 :)

  • 03:41 Classic George - RIP

  • @vitoduval Do you find it hard to not tear up upon hearing all things must pass too? George was so unique...he'll always have a place in my heart. John too, of course.

  • If the Beatles had done these at a reunion concert they would have used female backup singers on these songs.

  • John forgets the letter, that's so cute!!!!

  • I don't see much wrong with either performance. They sound very good.

  • probably why they stopped touring, they weren't playing well..but i dont think anyone else cared

  • You can tell how tired they are of touring, they seem very sloppy and not caring in there later concerts.....

  • This is Way Better than the Album version

  • They are so stoned right now. I read somewhere that Paul remembers getting "so high" I absolutely hate druggies but somehow I don't care because well, it's the beatles.

+it sounds like Paul has a domo obsession, he says domo b4 each song haha, this may b because the fact that he'd hecka stoned

  • @shay5790 why do you hate druggies?

  • They were stoned during this concert. Just look at George and Ringo during Paperback Writer!

  • Ooops! John forgot the words to Nowhere Man! Also, the sound systems were so bad in those days. No wonder people always said that they could hardly hear them.

  • so cool Paperback writer live! :) george's guitar is great!! and also are funny the mistakes in nowhere man

  • This was the 2nd act, and in the 1st they heard how sour they played so they shaped up for the 2nd act ;D

  • This vid is far superior to any of the other vids of this tour because (1) the Nowhere Man isn't chopped to shxt and (2) you get to hear Paul's fundamental contribution to the history of rock bass. Jack Bruce, Phil Lesh, Jack Cassady, bow down before the original ...

  • 1:14 THIS MISTAKE IS SO COOL

  • @TheMarianitotv they were supposed to say Nowhere Man can you see me?

  • @TheBEATLESMania100 you are right

  • haha 1:16 Isn't nowhere man a bit like see me at aall. haha John is brilliant, the musical genius that couln't remember the lyrics to his songs <3

  • I love this live version and this is the best sound quality I have heard. You can even notice how John gets the lyrics way wrong:

    0:35 Nowhere man, don't **** it

0:40 Take your time, don't hump (?) it

And then quickly goes into the chorus and no second verse to talk about.

Tokyo obv. had excellent sound engineers and it would be great to get these tracks sorted out properly 40 yrs later.

  • in the 0:19 somebody is wrong jajaja long live the beatles.

  • It was at this point that the Beatles started to think that they had enough of touring. The complex harmonies were too difficult to recreate live when they could hear anything. They also thought that because they couldn't hear what they were doing, their playing suffered.

  • Imagine you perform playing guitar on a concert like that.Where loudness of your guitar and your own voice make you to you know what in pants.

  • They sounded all right. At least you can hear them clearly compare to elsewhere where they could barely be heard from all the nonstop screaming.

  • It was a LIVE performance.. in very impressed the good they sound. I heard worst singers/players live..

  • Best quality I've ever seen of the 1966 Budokon performances; thank you!! Crisp picture, good sound. Too bad they were so under-rehearsed :(

  • love the way George Harrison played a harmonic tone on 1:06 that rings out. Love the song and most of their catalogue, exceptional talent

  • 1 person sucks>:-(

  • lmao isnt he a bit like me at all

its suppost to be nowhere man can you see me at all

thats pretty genius that he still kinda saved it though by making it rhyme

  • SE EQUIVOCO PAUL EN LALETRA...........GRANDES MAESTROS I LOVE YOU

  • So what if John messed up or if George started his solo too early, they are the best band ever...everyone makes mistakes...all of us...thats why pencils have rubbers...

xx LONG LIVE THE BEATLES LOVE YOO xx Good Song 'Nowhere Man' and 'Paperback Writer' x Cool =D

  • Amazing that they could sound that good and almost on key back then with really no vocal monitors, the guitar amps loud right behind them and not miced thru a PA...plus the deafaning screaming audience. NOT easy....only this good from years of playing clubs no doubt.

  • In spite of all the hiccups, the one thing that stayed constant and in tune was McCartney's bass playing :))

  • @Homingbird8 Yeah, Paul was easily the best musician in the band.

  • @Homingbird8 Which is incredible itself since we all know how notorious the Hofners are for going out of tune!!

  • ugh who cares if they messed up?!! it onlynshows that they are human!!

  • George started the intro riff to early..which messed them up a bit. It's a great version of the best band so far.

  • Fantastic!

    Thansk for great video!

  • John totally messed up an 1:16

  • He flubbed the words a bit. He could never remember the words to his songs so they would write them down, but then he didn't see to well without glasses....But they still sound GREAT!!!

  • I don't know why I got two thumbs down. Just pointed it out. I thought it was funny.

  • Great version of Nowhere man.

  • @14up0 Great version of Paperback Writer too....
