I agree, Jim Demint is a good example of the kind of stupidity you see in Washington. It's worth it to get all of those old guzzling polluting pieces of shit off the road. On average each one of those people trading in will have an extra $700+ dollars a year saved on gas to spend on other things.
Cash for Clunkers is counterproductive and hurts us taxpayers in the long-run. I hate seeing all of these good working cars being destroyed by our stupid government.
taking all these used cars off the market is going to put upward pressure on the used car market making affordable used cars for low income families out of reach for many.
true. Even a ratty old gremlin that runs like shit will cost $4500.00 used just for the simple fact that it could be traded in on a new car as a down payment. It's nothing more than the creation of a new bubble & people are too damn stupid to see it for what it is. It will make a $14,000.00 new car cost $26,000.00 when it's all said & done. This is kind of what they did with houses & now they are dramatically plunging in price. I saw a house that was 200 k on sale for 80 k yesterday. 0_o

You're really bad at math.

Let me guess, you have nothing resembling an education in economics?
Isn't it hilarious how anyone who does have an education can spot you from a mile away?

I'm talking more about the air you breathe rather than economics. You're right, my education is in political science.

I like how the reporter only mentioned ford gaining 2.3% business when Gm is down 20% Chrysler was down 12% and even TOYOTA was down 11%

Eh, no. Cars must be less than 25 years old to qualify. The last Gremlin was built in 1978.
