I agree, Jim Demint is a good example of the kind of stupidity you see in Washington. It's worth it to get all of those old guzzling polluting pieces of shit off the road. On average each one of those people trading in will have an extra $700+ dollars a year saved on gas to spend on other things.

true. Even a ratty old gremlin that runs like shit will cost $4500.00 used just for the simple fact that it could be traded in on a new car as a down payment. It's nothing more than the creation of a new bubble & people are too damn stupid to see it for what it is. It will make a $14,000.00 new car cost $26,000.00 when it's all said & done. This is kind of what they did with houses & now they are dramatically plunging in price. I saw a house that was 200 k on sale for 80 k yesterday. 0_o

Eh, no. Cars must be less than 25 years old to qualify. The last Gremlin was built in 1978.
