Hi! Thanks for such a great pattern, it looks A+, and I will add it to my Ravelry que! I also have interchangeable needles, and when I have to go up a size like you did, at the beginning of the new round, I only change the right hand needle tip to the larger size, knit the row, and when the new row is finished I change the left hand needle tip. so u don't have to try to squeeze & force the smaller stitches over a larger left hand needle, but they will be knit the right size on the rh needle.
@ThatsStitchTastic oh my gosh that would have been so helpful! haha as you can see i struggled a lot with is lol. well thank you! I'll definitely use that tip in the future!
looks excellent! thank you for being so detailed. i'm new to knitting, and all those abbreviations in patterns confuse me! now i can make this really cute hat for my friend!
@andymybaby For this project, you would put a plate in the beanie, and then mist the beanie with water, so that it forms the shape of the plate. You don't have to, I haven't yet, but people have been saying that it turns out a funny shape, so blocking helps :)
@iKNITS oh thanks for replying! i appreciate it very much because i've never heard of blocking in knitting before, maybe for dancing. Also, you used a 12 inch cable right? i have a 17 inch, would that be too short for the amount of cast ons you have in the beginning?
@iKNITS I think the 17 inch will be too long for the first few rows..You can buy so Double pointed needles for the first few rows, then try your 17-inch cable needle :)
On your website raverly(dot)com you have 2 different listing for needles. Does this mean I have a choice to use either a size 10 or size 8? Also I don't have a needle that look likes yours connected at the ends ( what is that type of needle called) I just have a two US 8 needles. I'm new to knitting this is why I am asking sooo many questions....Thanks!
@chinewmarie The sizes I have on there are 10 and 11. You use the smaller size first, to do the first few rows, then for the rest of the beanie, you use size 11. But you can't use regular knitting needles. I would recommend getting size 10 Double pointed needles, and size 10 and 11 circular knitting needles that are around 12".
@chinewmarie@chinewmarie So, If you're planning on knitting a lot, I would buy the Boye Needemaster Kit at Jo Ann, or Michaels WITH a 50% off coupon(they have these a lot online, or send them to your email)
cute hat, nice video - but did you notice your working yarn at the joining in the round actually made a yarn over...you should have pulled your working yarn down and under the needles before starting.
Nice to see your video though, and thanks for the pattern!
In the beginning when you do the rib pattern and you say "see you in five rounds" do I just repeat the KPKPK over and over? I'm unclear on that. P.S. I love your videos!
@mmikenajj Yes, and then you do it for 4 more rows. Sorry I didn't make it clear enough, thanks for asking the question, and thanks for watching! I'm glad you like them! Makes me want to make more :)
Whaaaoooooo that is one crazy looking needle. -____- I'm a beginner where did you get the white needle?
And well the needles you are using.

How will using size 3.5mm needles affect the beanies size?
Savahy2009 1 month ago
@Savahy2009 isn't that a size 4 needle? It would be really small, and probably not fit an adult.
iKNITS 1 month ago
@iKNITS So it would be good for a younger kid?

Hmm. Well the circular needles I have said US 10 and 29 inches on it. Would that be too long?
Savahy2009 2 months ago
@Savahy2009 i think so, but you can try it and see
iKNITS 2 months ago
@iKNITS okay thanks. Does my cord length matter?
Savahy2009 2 months ago
@Savahy2009 yes, if it's too long, you're going to have to stretch your stitches and it won't be fun.
iKNITS 2 months ago
Do you have to switch to a larger needle size or can you continue with the size 10 needles? I dont own interchangeable needles.
Savahy2009 2 months ago
@Savahy2009 I think that will work fine. You don't have to switch :)
