"Begin The Beguine". My lord. How many times did I hear that growing up. Uh Tweedle Dee wasn't 1950! That was 54 or 55. Jack Benny's show was not an hour in 1950. Are you sure you've got this right? "What's My Line" was probably my all time favorite show from the 50's. LOVED George and Gracie! Now Beulah was short lived but I remember that. Beat the Clock was fun! I got tired of Groucho.

"The Jack Benny Hour" aired in 1965-66. Waaayyyy off. That Benrus watch alone gives away the fact that it was not 1950!

Who sang Tweedlee Dee on this clip? This may be the earliest hit song I remember singing, so you know I'd love to know.

Dorothy Collins says the voice-over.
She was the girl with the page-boy haircut and see-through blouse who appeared in the "Lucky Strike" circle at the beginning and end of the program.

Although the Lucky Strike Hit Parade was indeed a hit program in 1950, this Dorothy Collins clip is from a few tv seasons later.
"Tweedlee Dee" was originally recorded by LaVerne Baker in 1955, with a white cover version made by Georgia Gibbs that year.
