Cool! I am 30 now and in my whole life I only met 2 more people who had the same birthday as me, jan. 5!

I also almost drowned when I was 5, thougt I knew how to dive, with my eyes open, got scared at the sight of some kind of diving seabird (duck?) and stuck under a boat, swallowing water... had a few nightmares about that later but still - whenever I need to make a decision I go swimming and wait for it to come :-)

Ok so I went into a wave pool with my dad on a tube and when we got to the 5 feet side my brother swims over and wants to get in so I scoot over than he knocks me off by accident and I almost drown. So yeah I want to learn to swim but I just hate putting my head underwater.

At the age of 5 days after initial creation, I participated in a competitive swim and won first place, the combination of my own DNA with that of a beautiful ovum. After that I only paddled a bit here and there, losing a lot of my speed, mostly due to my weight gain I presume. I took a break from swimming when I was around 9 months old, except for the occasional bath of course. Nowadays I'm an apt swimmer, what remains are the fond memories and great visible results of my past achievements.

Have you tried holding onto the wall and kicking? Try that for a little while to get the feel of it, after that let go of the wall and make sure your arms are straight out (to balance you) and then kick for a few strokes. Keep practicing, you'll get it. Oh, make sure that your doing this in the shallow end, so you wont get so freaked out. As long as you move your arms and kick, your body will be balanced on the water.
