Its the best film... im in to it went watching it... hmmm... nice and wonderful song....make me thinking someone that i know long time ago... Huurrmmmm.....
just fantastic, incredible. I heard a boy of 22 years who uploaded a video on you tube. from the outset that he is still a long way to go to grow musically, but I must say it deserves to be heard. Is called "Fantasie Marcello Graduato". goodbye
As much as I have always admired and respected Ennio Morricone as one of the dozen or so truly great film composers, I feel the score is his masterpiece. The music reflects the poignancy of the individual scenes and the drama as a whole with a degree of perfection achieved by the greatest operatic composers, including Wagner!
The film contains so many wonderful scenes, but I think the final shot as Max leaves the music store and walks up the alley with his trumpet affects me the most.
Each time I watch this scene I cry. The way he speaks through his music, he transmits peace but at the same time loneliness. There couldn't be a better name for that song!!!...WONDERFUL PERFORMANCE!
He is speaking to her with music, saying that she just may be capable of such great happiness that he sees in her eyes, but the world is what it is.......
I Hate that at the end, the gentlemen starts talking . . he totally breaks the moment of the splendid song and all those feelings are blown away with that . . . he should have stayed in silence XD. Well that's my opinion.
I would love to be a piano player like this.....I do exactly the same when i sit down to play the piano.......you just understand it and it all comes together....check out a couple of my songs.....liquidarkness...extinction........I spent the better half of the year trying to learn this song by ear....i did it, but so not worthy to be put on youtube
This film makes me cry every time I watch it. It's a truly touching story, and the best part about it is that it's so believable, for a long time I thought it was a true story.
This song is just beautiful, if ever there was a song that could symbolize love, this would be it.
@NevinJarek I think just the opposite, there are special cases of people who are able to play music in the way that the character 1900 does. In fact I think it's the most pure type of music, totally unbiased, full of passion that isn't hidden behind rigid notes. The idea of being able to just look out at something and be able to make music about it, that is a truly special talent I wish I had.
Beautiful! Can you feel the emotion within his heart and soul as he's staring intently at the beautiful young lady outside the ship's window? (SIGH) Beautiful. Just. Beautiful.
waaaahhh .. i hate this film... huhuhuh i first saw this film way back in 2001 but still it makes me cry... i hate thif film for making me cry huhuhuh... i love tim in here :).. i love the storyline.. the irony... just love this film :)

0:45-0:48 is measure 14. Don't forget to keep the D sharp for the the second half of the measure and it helps if you have a sustain peddle. the notes should be something like this:
I loved the movie but towards the end 1900n started acting and looking a lot psychotic.lol like a serial killer or something.. :) nevertheless, superb film!
I just saw this movie!!! It was inspiring. I have a question though.. the scene where he tells the girl that he knows her father. How does he know him? I know I've heard the line "voice of the ocean" somewhere in the film too but can't quite remember who said it exactly. So who is the girl's father? And can Tim Roth actually play the piano well?
One of the greatest undiscovered love songs of all time...I am surprised that even more thousands have not yet commented on the glorious beauty of this Ennio Morricone melody....that's okay...I've lived most of my life experiencing the greatest classical music and in comparison, it's just about the same. Poor unfortunate fools that have not felt the tender stirrings of this deeply soulful song.
i was absolutely blown away by the piano battle scene but this... was beyond compare. my favorite scene thus far. it's one of those "the melody speaks for itself type of thing" i love how he looked like he's in a trance the moment he saw her.
its truly beautiful and truly heartbreaking to see this. Hearing this is beautiful, but to watch him fall in love before our eyes, its too much. He understands that they're from to different worlds, but he can't help but to hope. To know that this is pretty much the closest he'll get to her before he stops her from getting off of the boat, then letting her go... out of his life, breaks my heart. Just hearing this makes me cry 10x. never mind watching it.
If you rolled out in front of me a keyboard of millions of keys, millions and billions of keys that would never end. That's the truth, they`ll never end. That keyboard is infinite... and if that keyboard is infinite, then on that keyboard there is no music you can play. You're sitting on the wrong bench......That is God's piano.
