  • Oh my! I play bari sax in my middle school jazz band and we played this at our concert last night! I got a solo, even though there really isn't one for bari....

  • omg i will have to audition with this piece against grade 10's, 11's, and 12's omg so nervous!

  • Sounds really good

  • omg! i loved playing this song when i was in jazz band!!

  • 3:34 MEAN!

  • They totally the intro drum solo... Jucka jacka

  • ahh the song i got my first solo award to in middle school. go bones!

  • Hahaha mean is the part after the solo cause I remember doing this my freshman year and it was amazing

  • I've played Abracadabra in my jazz band and it was soooooooo much fun! I totally love that song and this ensemble did an amazing job. =)

  • Mean! (those who have played this song know what I'm talking about.)

  • This is greta, just (like CaseFaceMcGee said) the tempo sounds like it's on crack.

  • I think the song swings and grooves a lot better if the tempo is held back... As a bassist, I like playing this song a lot more when it is held way back.

  • @CaseFaceMcGee i agree, i get into the grove more at a slower tempo. i play tbone

  • @DaveMother ya they do need to play slower, i play trumpet and i love the beginning

  • @fishdweeb123 i love this song but i have to take a solo tomorrow night for this song.. ugh.. i hate solos lol, any tips anyone?!?

  • god, i wish the sax solo had put a little more feeling to it.

Should put some strong sections into it...

  • @MegaX36 It could use a little more soul!

  • This song actually sounds good rushed.

I play 1st alto for this song in my jazz band and we play it a bit slower

  • its a bit rushed, i have to say. but our band plays it a lot slower. the piano player is pretty damn good though. and the solos = (:

  • i play 3rd trombone on this one..

i love the melody, its so catchy..

  • Why is there not one copy of this song on iTunes? I had a blast playing the first trombone part on this way back when.

  • see ya at the end!!! lol, the trumpet player should have played a fifth higher at the end :-P

  • ya the trumpets did rush a lot but my trumpet section has the same problem but not as much as them, i think its because the notes are all eighth and sixteenth notes.

  • this song is pretty bomb, i must admit. we play it in our school jazz band too, so it's interesting to see how other schools play it. i'd have to agree that it was a little rushed, but not much. it sounds good fast.

  • Although you definitely accelerated through almost the whole thing, I think taking the song at the brighter tempo adds some intensity.

Guitar solo was also a good idea...

  • way too fast solos too

  • Trumpets rushed this song SOOOO bad. haha. everyone just.. followed a long.

  • it was good but i believe that the other commenters are right. I have played this chart a lot (almost to much) and at the first chorus.. i felt that the intensity was gone

  • it was good but waaaayy rushed. i love this piece though

  • Well, it is a great tune. But definitely rushed. Started out at a great tempo, just didn't hold it.

  • the conductor is supposed toconduct and make sure you dont rush it

  • That would be the drummers job, actually.

  • I have never heard this tune performed at this fast of a tempo. I think it hurts the integrity of the chart.

  • well, to be completely honest, we rushed pretty bad during this performance.
