If you don't even know that the Canon XL2 shoots in SD and NOT HD, u are definitely to low for such a camera - but thats what most people are. They don't have any skill in filming at all but think a professional-looking camera will make their films perfect. Especially in nowadays a HD-Camcorder is more useful than any old Canon XL1s/XL2. But go ahead, buy one and find it out yourself.

i know if dont know that an xl2 shoots in sd and NOT hd then you are a noob. People think that because the xl1/xl2 are large pro looking cameras that they will make the video professional. I just bought an hfs100 with a rode video mic after being fed up with the quality of xl1s. This cam is amazing because it has a 1/2.5'' sensor for even shallower dof than the xl1s or the xl2's i worked with. The level of detail is amazing. This cam also has complete manual control, zebras, color bars, etc.

Hello:

 I have a canon xl2 and got it brandnew from Canon. I have had for about a year now. Everything had been working just fine. Then recently the Ch 2/4 xlr input won't work. It works but it won't read on both 1&2 outputs on the display screen. Check your setting and let me know what you have them set to in order for both Ch to read on the display screen. Meaning both bars for 1&2 read on the display for both XLR Channels

hey, umm... I know you are probably REALLY devoted to making moves like I am, because you want a camera like this, but really, how are you gonna make that much money to get that?? I'm 14 too, and I wanted a DVX 100B at first, but I was hit with the harsh reality that I couldn't afford it. So, I started saving for the GL2, and within 1.5 months, I have the money now to buy it.
