Playful - perfect tempo. Anything but boring. I guess "LarsenPiano" is not a Haydn fan. Richter is one of the best Haydn interpreters ever. You hear each nuance, each voice. This last minuet movement is delightful. As a minuet you should be able to dance to it. So many people play Haydn too fast.
@LarsenPiano It's a dance, so you want the repeats because you want to keep dancing! Take a dance class and learn to minuet-- you won't want to stop dancing, either! ;-)
A great balance between Gould and Schiff! My favorite recording. This is absolutely the perfect tempo for conveying minuet feel and the annoying two note slurs in the left hand!
WoW. This is amazing. I'm learning to play this song and am having a hard time with it. I didn't now that it was supposed to be this fast either. I've got a long way to go if I want to get my playing even close to the quality of Richter's. Simply amazing. Thanks for the upload.
(and you Smithsher... go back to your middle-aged "women" with "greying hair" who "know" when they should "be submissive" as you wrote in on your page, which has been saved as testimony to your bad taste; with those tastes of yours no surprise R ' s greatness is disturbing you; but you know there is cure you from your obsession ; your adding "compliments" to foul comments does not help you to hide your idée fixe)
You must be joking! Listen to more of Richter´s Haydn and you will find wit, surprise etc. to full its extent! His Haydn is the best I have heard from any pianist!

This Haydn movement is so boring! Is it necessary to play all the repeats and in exactly the same way with the same ornamentation each time?

a little too slow and grave for my taste, but well played.

This comment has received too many negative votes show
The attitude & approach feel fine, but again the lack of wit& surprise denigrate it greatly.
