I'v been to this part of the world and i did not find Sri lankan police officers with this behaviour. About one third of policemen in Colombo can manage English. I agree with the top comment up there so i believe that Sri Lanka is better place to travel and the folks there are extremely friendly.

India's police mismanagement is starting to manifest unrest such as the Naxalite movements from the late sixties. Its been like four decades now since the initial unrest. We have the same situation in Kashmir where police are not held accountable for their actions and its only worsening. Wake up Indian government otherwise you will be dealing with states wishing to split away from India. Indian media should do articles on corrupt government officials.
