  • I'm really enjoying your selection of video clips, Neil. Methinks you must spend a lot of time trimming things with scissors and picking leaves of the track! I expect your weather is not unlike mine (in Vancouver) and I'm all the more impressed at this small (for outdoor) gauge railway.

I'm sure many of us would love to see a quick tour of your backyard empire!

  • Thanks very much

The truth is my railway is just a simple 30 yard oval with one loop at the station, so a tour won't take very long! My main interest is really in making the stock.

It has been a pretty miserable summer, so not ran as often as I would like- every time I've been off work it's been raining (I'm sure Vancouver is the same)

I have a little rechargeable battery powered hedge trimmer - no scissors:-)

    Neil

  • Well, sometimes simple is better - I was never fond of "spaghetti bowl" trackplans, indoors or out. And yes, summer here was particularly poor this year, although fall has been extremely good. It's warm (okay, relatively) and sunny out today; it would make for some great live steaming!

  • Is this locomotive fitted with Delrin chain to give 4WD, or is it just 2WD?

  • Chain drive (not Delrin) to both axles from drive shaft as per prototype.

  • A fascinating engine and really beautiful models!

(As Irish enthusiasts will already know, the original engine was turned into a diesel loco and is now in the Ulster Folk and Transport Museum)

  • Can we get it in Cambrian green?
