when do u ever brush your hair? in the shower? or us natural curly haired peop dont have to really brush it when we dont straighten it? i ask because when i brush my hair out it puffs up so the only time i brush it is when i am washing it in the shower....thats when i brush it out...and wht do u do with your hair when u go to bed??? and when u wait up in the morning? how do u keep it looking neat and not sloppy? when i sleep with my hair out at night i wae up and its all sloppy looking

@bwbg18 I don't brush it out when I wear it curly. I just use a comb in the beginning when it is untangled. I use my fingers to separate the curl. At night you can wear it up in a ponytail or push in in a satin cap. When you wake up the next morning use a little moroccanoil mixed with hydrating cream. It also depends on your curl pattern.Good luck. : )

@bwbg18 There are so many things out there that you can you use. hydrating cream from amika or moroccanoil , leave conditioners from framesi, macadmia and moroccanoil. I will try to get a video out with the new things that will help us curly hair gals. : )

I've that same exact type of hair. As a personal opinion I'm not really a fan how it turns out when it's dry. It's big and frizzy no matter what I put in it. I always end up putting my hair into a bun. >_<

I have type 3a to 3b curly hair..pretty close to yours except my hair is probably thinner. I'm always looking for different techniques to try out even though I have a pretty good one already. Your hair ended up a little more poofy than I like on myself but it looks fabulous on you! I wonder if you have a technique to get huge ringles??

@shimpals Without some products my hair looks crazy !!! lol this is why I use these products to tame the mane. I only use a very small amount and If it is winter time I cut out one or two of them. The key thing is to use products that help the hair get conditioning and shine without build up. If you have curly hair try it. : )

I use mousse in my hair to keep it curly, but I hate how my hair is always hard afterwords. I have straight roots and then my hair curls, but I want my hair to look dry and feel soft like I see most other girls with curly hair. My hair is also quite flat up top, unlike my mother who has so much body to her hair that it should be a crime. I just want to be able to have body in my hair and not have it hard as rock. in my fifth grade prom outside was humid and was drizzling. i blow dried my hair and flat ironed it . i thought my hair was gonna be fine.i left the house with silky straight hair. when i came in the gym it was a big mess! i was sad but my friend was a life saver! she had a hair tie and tied my hair into a cute braid. so yea i have learned my lesson.to use climate control shampoo and conditioner .and to always look at the weather. anyways i love this hair tutorial i really needed it thanks!

@erdes3690 I get my hair trimmed every 2 months. I also get deep treatments once a month. I think you can grow it out. sometimes our hair grows more out than downwards. It depends on your curl pattern. Mine is straighter on my roots and then it curls downward. I hope this was helpful . : )

@1997frangipani Unfortunately Swimming everyday is going to really hurt your hair. Even with the best hair care you will still receive some form of damage. You can try to find a very good swimmers cap and see if it helps. The natural oils from your scalp are not being allowed to stay long enough on the hair to moisturize it so this creates dry hair. You would have to swim a little less.If you notice a lot of professional swimmers have very short hair. I wish you luck. : )

Liz, Does the gel or leave-in conditioner in this video contain alchohol in them? I sometimes use wash-out conditioners that make my hair easier to come through , but after my hair is dry, some ingredient really dries it out and causes it to break. I have 100% natural for over 10 years. One more question, is silicone drying or bad for your hair? Love Love Love you and your videos. Thanks!

@dabby13 If the curl is not coming back with gel or anything then it sounds like you won't be able to restore it back. Unfortunately you might have to cut it . I hate when this happens. When we apply heat with a lot of force or we do it often then this is what happens. When I get to the hair show this year I will see if there is anything new that can restore the curl back to it's natural state. I wish you all the best. Thanks for watching.

@solowty987 Yes you would need to use a little more gel and your results should be close. If your natural hair is less curly then the curl will be a bit lose but still close.
