It has superstition, gods, doctrine and dogma, it's a religion. Like christians back then, it's got more honest members today so you play the victem card as if your belief system doesn't encourage the same actions.
But, at the end of the day, ideological Islam is just an instrument ppl in power use to further their agendas. Religion, since its inception, has always been an instrument to control ppl. In most modern nations, religion has lost this power. Islamic regimes are not so quick to relinquish it though. If humanity is to survive it's great filter, we need to rid the world of ideological religions. With all the oil money of world going to Islamic leaders, I can't say I'm optimistic.
People who see Islam (or any other religion) as an ideology are very dangerous. They will stop at nothing to impose their ideology on others and, unlike non-religious ideologies, mass-martyrdom is an overly acceptable instrument to impose the said ideology - especially in Islam. Fighting this is not simple, because you can't just say that any Muslims are ideological Muslims. The majority of Muslims in Western nations are faith-Muslims and are no threat.
1. As a faith - the good, benign manner of practicing a religion to answer the questions of creation, life after death & personal morality.
2. As an ideology - the belief that the scripture of a certain religion is the way the world must be, and anyone who believes otherwise is an enemy of humanity.

But, at the end of the day, ideological Islam is just an instrument ppl in power use to further their agendas. Religion, since its inception, has always been an instrument to control ppl. In most modern nations, religion has lost this power. Islamic regimes are not so quick to relinquish it though. If humanity is to survive it's great filter, we need to rid the world of ideological religions. With all the oil money of world going to Islamic leaders, I can't say I'm optimistic.

People who see Islam (or any other religion) as an ideology are very dangerous. They will stop at nothing to impose their ideology on others and, unlike non-religious ideologies, mass-martyrdom is an overly acceptable instrument to impose the said ideology - especially in Islam. Fighting this is not simple, because you can't just say that any Muslims are ideological Muslims. The majority of Muslims in Western nations are faith-Muslims and are no threat.

1. As a faith - the good, benign manner of practicing a religion to answer the questions of creation, life after death & personal morality.
