I wondered how Ansel felt about digital photography as it was new when he was an older man. He's very open to it and I could feel his admiration for this new medium. It's interesting too that he saw each print as an individual 'performance' so that each time he printed, he would come up with somewhat different results.

@maple1255 If you haven't seen it already, get a copy of the 2002 DVD "Ansel Adams: A Documentary Film" by Ric Burns. It's incredible and beautifully done. It is widely available and NetFlix has it as well. I have some clips from it on my channel. Even non-photographers should love it.

@ZoneIII Thanks for telling me about the DVD, I checked it out today on Amazon. In the past I'd read that he was still making prints for people who had ordered them at quite a low price, then the owners of the print would turn around and make a small fortune. He was an honorable man, a true artisan.

@maple1255 Yes, Ansel thought the prices his prints were selling for was obscene. You are going to love that DVD. I watch it at least once a year and find it inspiring. There was a video about Ansel made in the 1980s too called Ansel Adams: Photographer which is also good but it is only available on VHS. Oddly, even the original store-bought VHS tapes were unsharp in some places. I finally found it and downloaded it and have clips on my channel. The one you ordered is, by far, the best.
