AUGH they are soo cute that I wouldn't be able to resist petting them, their cuteness is dangerous at least to me... maybe that's their defense for humans, be so cute we pet them and get a nasty rash (?) from the venom and never touch them again
what I find sad about caterpillars is that they actually DIE (de facto) when going through metamorphosis... they dissolve and their cells turn into a completely new being. It's like you dissolving into a fleshy puddle, brain and all, and from this there emerges a new person with no memory of your life...
