Number one, you said "job", wrong, its a life. number 2, its not for everyone. Number three, if losing the life of one person a day really bothers you than maybe this is really not the job you want. What about mass casualty incidents? number 4, you got to get hard sometimes, .. otherwise it will eat at you, like it seems to be doing. Enjoy the Brotherhood, its like nothing else. Take strength from those willing to give it. Show your compassion. Think about it. God Bless Brother!!
after college, im thinking bout going to a fire academy, if i graduate, shud i think bout being a volunteer for about a year, then ask the captain if i can be a career paid firefighter?????
@paintbllwizard its a little bit (whole lot) harder than that i would definitely recommend the vollie route first to see if its a job you can do because i promise being a firefighter is not what hollywood portrays it as. you dont always save the day, your not always the hero, and your not gonna get rich. if you like staying up all night using every ounce of possible bit of energy to help for ( most of the time ) no thanks at all this may be your kind of work. if not i wouldnt recommend it
@paintbllwizard also i speak from the heart and the knowledge to back it up im a firefighter i love this job i wouldnt do anything else by now i dont how to do anything else its not about what you do its who you are. this is not a job its "the job" iv been around death, despair, seen peoples lives destroyed its heartbreaking. if you see a firefighter bragging about how much he saw this happen and it didnt affect him. beware.. were not heroes were firefighters and god give us a reason for living
@devanmills1 "if you see a firefighter bragging and how much it didn't affect him beware"? What do you mean by this?
And I have a question... Do you have gear to protect you from the smoke and toxic fumes? I just got my EMT cert and am considering becoming a firefighter... I would much prefer dying from trauma than a slow death from pulmonary disease. I know it probably sounds ridiculous but if you get the time could you answer?
alt bravest is gonna be one of those we read about w/ that sorry ass tude. manning up is about realizing what is already lost 1st. as it has always been 1. life safety (yours & mine) 2. incident stabilization (cofinement / cotainment / control burn) property conservation means saving the adjoining property these days. y put it out?. only to have them level "the save" with a track hoe any way. wake up dude this aint the 1800's. be aware of the entire scenerio. what are you REALLY gonna save ?
Anyone who has half a mind in the fire service realizes that once fire reaches the rafters in the roof you have approx 5 minutes give or take a few before there is structural collapse and in this video its already self ventilated, there is noone inside no need to put men in danger to save a foundation. Use ur head atlbravest, and we wonder why there are already 9 lodd deaths this year. Good work on the video, stay safe brothers and station 33
@shaun6906 You got some real truth in there! Fire and Rescue Service is not for showing off. It is for keepin you and me both safe, and yes, I'll risk my life for a stranger and all the other stuff that is asked from me. However, dying for a foundation is nothing I prefer for neither of us. A good officer knows when there is nothing to save anymore. Going in and taking out a fully involved fire only makes the job harder for the insurance company when they tear it down.
Here is the problem with that every time that camera goes in it melts. I have noticed that you just joined and have posted nothing so we will see if you realy are the bravest or just another Sh*t wasting time on you tube.
Oh and by the way this structure was a loss from time of arival and there was no one inside. I hope that you are the type who goes interior for abandoned building to prove you have balls just to realize there is nothing to save but yourself
Thanks buddy for your comment. I am proud to say that you are right, this was a total loss. Looks like you have some type of common sense. And by the way, at this point in time the man with the camera was exterior only, so no it didn't melt. Then again it didn't melt the other times he was inside and it is still in working condition. Thanks for your opinion once again.

@BootyBot Yes. Firefighters have SCBA's. Self Contained Breathing Apparatus. In a burning building, that is your life-line.
