Ska for me typifies the 80s to an absolute tee although at the time it wasnt my cup o tea. One of my mates Andy used to go bonkers whenever Ska was played at parties and he really knew how to dance to it, he was awesome to watch. Been a Specials fan since they first formed and went to all their concerts back in 79/ early 80's. I assure you there were no "Nazi" skinhead at any of those concerts, cos if they were actually dumb enough to turn up with their racism they were swiftly dealt with by the real fans.

Any NF skinhead who claimed to be a fan must have been pretty dumb,the Specials message was against Racism so the two don't mix but then being dumb is a prerequisite for being an NF Skinhead... ;-)

Next thing there were torches being shone out from the stage and someone shouting to every one to keep calm, then there were some screams of pain from the audience. When the power came back on it turned out some roadies had thrown full beers cans out into the audience to keep us happy but in the darkness they had hit some people on the head and split them wide open...

There was nearly a riot that night especially when the group refused to come back out and play... :-)
