  • natives always the loser of everything.... all over the world...

  • Cyanide and other very dangerous chemicals are imported and stored illegally just about anywhere you can imagine where it can sip into the ground waters within the city, not even mentioning at which pace and rate the licences are issued in Mongolia,so much corruption onvolved in this,no wonder if you see so many Hummers,Range Rovers,Bentleys,Rolls Royces and even Lamborghinis in the capital city where roads are crap actually,I am Mongolian and I know what I am talking about, wellcome globalizati

  • @munkhoo Same thing is happening here, in Romania...

    With the Rosia Montana Project...

    Globalization and coruption... sucks!

  • lol at birthboi

  • I believe those unlawabiding mines should have there permits revoked but if you follow the correct law by reclaiming the land, the land will look just like it did. I hate these people that just throw there fake "facts" around and blame other people. We have extremely strict laws in america and they usually require many, many water tests, groundwater level tests, and erosion tests. If you go past the limit here, your mine is shut down till you fix it.

  • Gold miners are suckers. They destroying wild natural. We need GOLD&MONEY but first we need our planet.WE ARE LOVE MY MONGOLIA.

  • How does placer mining poison people? Bucket line dredges don't use chemicals to separate gold. They move sediment from one spot to another a few hundred feet away after they send it through a jig or sluice and recover the heavy metals.

They don't mention any evidence, just hearsay from people who are not physicians. Without evidence I don't believe claims like those made here.

Evidence is key, present it NAT GEO!!! Or your just bullshitting people and undermining your own cause.

  • @piecartbox chemicals are needed to refine the gold in any gold refinery...it takes alot of water too

  • @catstevens666 Bullshit, I pan and sluice/ highbank for gold and have never ever seen or heard of a person using mercury or any other chemical for PLACER gold. hardrock is different but it is closed circuit so it can not hurt the ecosystem.

  • poo

  • @RENEDU2

Of course, they are elitists , they assume they are superior to mere "humans".

  • the world outside of the USA is horrible.

Greedy people. The same people who suffer are the same people who will destroy the land and mine for gold if they had the chance to make money off it.

and this is how most of the world is. Just greedy selfish people. Even those who seem to be the underdog.

    Am i right?

  • No, you're not. You're just one of those retarded U.S.A patriots.

  • the world inside the usa is isn't the best either

  • i agree

u are fking lucky to have internet,a home and food.

people out there would kill just to survive.

    life sucks

  • Damn those greedy politicians and businessmen. . .you can't feed the people with gold.

  • You might be able to buy food with gold though :)

  • Yeah....but only for "those" who have the ability to do so.

  • damn gold diggers

  • yeh, why the hell is it banned in canada ???

  • i will make youtube close for the day if you contunue. lest see how good your firewalls are and your net work. i got a computer clas in colllege that is not happy with you send me an email if you want to talkd

  • Humans will not stop until the world is destroyed...

  • yes HUMANS might destroy the earth.

what the fuck species are you? a camel?

  • Oh No look who is talking "Human"

  • camels destroyed other planets before... ??

  • thats not what i meant.

the person i replied to said "HUMANS will not stop until the earth is destroyed", as if they were from another species.

  • They never learn until its too late

  • ur exactly right bro

  • oh wow, a national geographic episode that i can actually watch because IT ISN'T BANNED IN THE FUCKING UK, YOU TUBE YOU FUCKING CUNTS STOP BANNING EVERYTHING!

  • i live in italy and they ban it here too, do you know why? its stupidd!

  • it's because google bought them out and have banned everything in certain countries because of some fucking retarded copyright laws they have introduced

  • Your loss

  • youtube is banned in uk?

  • it's not like that...

they just ban some videos in some regions...

I have no fucking idea why...

I'm in Singapore, and NG has so many videos that is also banned in "my region"

  • HA HA HA

  • Its banned in Canada too, I feel your pain!

The ones that look most interesting are banned.

    Fml

  • it's so annoying! these shows are really worth watching, but i have to wait till they show something of similar topic on tv due to my inability to watch them here.

  • y do they even ban NG episodes, i thought this shit was supposed to be educational

  • Banned in Canada too. Now my whole subscription window is jammed with bannned crap.

  • fuck you google and fuck you you tube . you have broken my heart, im going to do everything i can to stop this bull shit . i want to watch or dont give me the idea i can

  • Looks like Mulenburg County before Mr. Peabodys' coal train hauled it away.

  • i dont like gold either. its horribly gaudy

and at the end i meant to say "is MORE precious than gold"

  • he cant prove that the cancer he had was caused by the enviroment.

  • God i wish people would get over "money, power, and gold". It's not important, people. As long as you have what you need, the rest of it means nothing.

Sounds like the Mongolians understand things the way my ancestors did. Wow... nice job for this guy to get alot of these mines shut down... it definitely needs to be a collective effort around the world.

We need to stop mining EVERYWHERE, especially this bloody strip mining, that destroys things for thousands of years.

  • lol asking humans to get over " money/gold and power". . . lmao!!!!

that will NEVER happen. . humans have now made money/gold more valuable than Earth herself. . . i don't know why. . but they did. . .

    far idea. . but

if a lot of humans could... they would BUY/BUILD a artifical planet that support there life. . . if they could and get rid of Earth. . . they would strip Earth to the mantle if they could. . and reap all the gold, silver, and oil lol

  • I never understood y people value gold...its useless just shiny just like diamonds

  • i agree... i don't even like gold.

  • Because that's how we are able to afford to have our money printed....

  • because centuries ago, francisco pizarro took a crew with him to peru and looted that country for its gold. when he sent it back home to spain the royalty there decided it was worth something and soon after the whole nation used it as currency. thus began the centuries long tradition of looting poorer countries and labelling its otherwise useless resources as currency. then came paper money.

  • uh, gold was valuable in Europe and used for currency LONG before Pizarro and the "tradition" of looting poorer countries had been going on long before him too

  • Gold was around long before that.

The Egyptians, and the Vikings placed value on it long before Pizarro found it out.

  • I really feel bad about this situation.

It's horrible but Gold is something you really can't boycott.

Gold is one of the most vital metals we have.

Gold is essential to our lives it's used everywhere.

The vanity purposes of gold such as jewelry is nothing compared to it's value for the electronics industry; cellphones, computers, DVD players etc.. pretty much every electronic device we use in our lives uses gold.

Try opening up the PCB board of your computer what do you see?? it's gold.

  • Very little gold is used in industry and medicine, compared to things like jewelry and bar hoarding. It's the demand for wealth and status that keeps gold mines running, not gold's practical uses.

  • poor guys :(

  • We need to start valuing other things aside from gold, like red pubic hair, just something rare and beautiful that doesn't require suffering.

  • yeah! or toenails from someone's sixth toe

  • isnt gold weird its just valuable because its shiny :s but its just another piece of rock lol... or is it a mineral idk

  • It's valuable because it doesn't errode as quickly as other metals do. Gold lasts for a long long time.

  • not really. Gold is a very flimsy, malleable substance.

  • Yes it is a soft metal, but it doesn't rust as quickly as other metals do when left to natural elements, like air and water..

  • These sorts of environmental atrocities are happening all over the world. Likely in your own back yard as well.

Here our government wants to start tearing up our forests to dig uranium. Locally we've been fighting it, but it's a losing battle once someone in power discovers a source of revenue.

Words to live by, "Take nothing but a photograph, leave nothing but a footprint."

With regards to our environment, this is the best way.

Humans have the tech to fix all of these problems, but it costs

  • These things are the result of undervaluing the environment and overvaluing mere sustances.

  • In today's society one's worth is generally determined by their wealth.

As long as our society continues to be materialistic, we're going to see things like this happen.

If there was more money in repairing the damage than causing it, then things would be drastically different.

  • Ugh... not more uranium digging.. they strip everything down to nothing when they do that!!

  • I live in New Brunswick, Canada.

They're going to destroy a lot of our wilderness to get at the Uranium. It's going to force people off of their land too.

The dust it will stir up will cover large area's. It's going to kill off a lot of our water ways.

We've been fighting it locally, but like I said, it's not enough to keep them at bay for long. There's money in it, fat old men want that money. Too bad for us civilians and the environment.

  • oh they should tell this motherfuckers to beat it !

  • I would take some fuel and burn the companies down, to prevent worse, if I was the mongolians. but that's my opinion...

  • wATER is more precious then anything in the world for life don't waste please!

  • re-route the damn river and problem solved!

  • Those Mongolians are conquering the gold mines. The miners are going to have to build great walls around the mines.XD

  • the goverment isn't caring about the mongolians....instead he is just earning money for the expense of the mongolians !

  • This is how you know a something will fuck with people or the environment; It is being produced for the masses. Usually something people don't need.

  • I was recently just reading about this.

  • oh, how courageous the environmentalists are. NOT!!! You people make me sick.

  • this is ridiculous

we are all to blame really

somewhere in the chain we are doing this to them

  • but mostly be oblivious to it

    our system is fucked

  • I didn't do shit

  • I personally don't wear any gold. I think that is one step we could do to help. Sure there is the wedding ring and other personal accessories but I've seen other people walk around with so much unnecessary jewelry I try to think what insecurity they might be trying to cover up.

  • Whatever happend to the national geographic theme song, i miss it

  • thats fucked...

  • Do not buy the evil gold. let the elite stockpile on it. the international environmentalist are controled opposition by the elite. to keep the gold in the ground other people besides the elite don't get to own it. thus challenging their power monopoly.

  • Oh sure; and every person on Earth deserves to die in agony as punishment for having an ancient ancestor who stole a fruit.

  • a fruit god dangled in front of one of his new "children" - yeah i would curse my kids for eating fruit.

    fuking retarded

  • My personal experience has convinced me that our destiny lies with our relationship with the mother earth; and, that one third of our being relies upon that relationship. Without this personal relationship with nature, man suffers a huge void. I think 21st Century man often attempts to fill this void with consumer-consumption. Americans have been taught to believe deriving maximum materialistic satisfaction seems to be the whole meaning of human existence

  • yeah we've been distracted or brainwashed from the tru meanings of life

  • 5/5*

  • i know were u can get some realy gold but first u will have to get in the car with me little boy /but my mommy told me not to get in the cars with strangers/but im ur dad/she told me not to get in the car with u to

  • you sir are stupid -.-

  • How can Russians get thier mining permit countless times, after Mongolian Government being informed of its effects.. Suspician of bribery anyone?

  • this must stop now

  • why mine for gold when you can make your own money?

  • what gold mining assholes

  • sad

  • get the fuck out of their land period

  • Gold mining bastards lol

  • )= sabatoge that shit man! im jking of course.

  • Sad shyt....

  • Yep, man's desire for wealth will fuck the world up...

  • Never happen. Man may fuck the world up to the point where man cannot exist on it, but the world will continue going with life long after humans are extinct.

  • only the spilling of blood is the solution here!! blood is faithful to soil!!

  • GOLD FUCKING SUCKS

I've never liked gold and this is just a reassurance of the greed of men.

  • Very True!!!

  • get the a-team!

  • Slowly humans are going to be the last ones left on this planet other than those in captivity.....

  • Those pigs, always thinking about money and not the lives of THEIR people.

  • Damn it.......life sucks

  • hopefully someday soon we will find a clean, renewable source of energy. the earth is being destroyed by just one generation of humans alone.

  • and it goes on and on.......,.Same story....Man fcuks it all up

  • people need to understand that lifestyles are more importaint than weath of gold and silver

  • this disgusts me. people, keep buying every piece of bullshit you see on the shelves, its probably destroying peoples homes and killing people in one way or the other. don't support their greed.

  • we live in a consumer society. as much as i despise it, its the way we function.

  • good call...its CONSUMER that are the problem. These large companies would not exist if it were not for the DEMAND of gold. Simple.

  • If there were no companies, then the DEMAND of gold would do nothing to harm the environment. Mere demand will not do anything if there is no SUPPLY. Simple.

  • So which comes first the chicken or the egg? Companies that offers products &/or services are created to meet the demand of any populations. Either way I think the root of the problem is just like with most other problems... GREED.

  • QQ moar

  • stories like these are so sad and so common but at least there are video's like these that get the word out.. :-/

  • When you give a woman something to have sex with you, it's called prostitution. It doesn't matter what it is - gold, silver or diamonds. The only way to make it not that way is to commit to her for the rest of your life.

  • A small part of gold is necessary but the majority is just to get laid.

  • greedy white pple! no offense

  • Im white and im agree with you.

    Greedy wihte people

  • Wow what an ignorant comment! What do most of today's rappers have dangling from their necks? HUGE OVER-SIZED ropes, chains, crosses, clocks, etc...

It's not white people, its everyone & anyone buying gold for ornamental/material purposes.

  • your right

  • is gold really nessesary? i mean...seriously....

  • Hmm, N.G. had a chart in their "true price of gold" article. I don't recall the exact figures, but here's my guess.

Of all the gold that humans possess, about 15% of it is used industrially (electronics, medical uses, etc). Another 15% is used in currency and other capital. The remaining 70% of gold is made into jewelery and hoarded in bar stockpiles.

That said, there is no need to mine any more gold. There's already more than enough gold lying around in elitists' petty status symbols.

  • well said

  • That is so sad i hope they stop mining

  • why do we need gold anyway

  • fuc* greed bastards apart

  • a damn shame

  • FUCK GOLD MINING YOU FUCKING PRICKS

  • well they can get 50 pounds of gold per 1 square mile of ocean...

  • This is similar to what the superior white Europeans did to the inferior brown skinned natives of North and South America. When you steal and rape the land you also kill and rape the people who live on the land. Corporations love China because they don't have environmental protection infrastructure. Perhaps when the globalists collapse the US economy and destroy our sovereignty with their one-world-government supported by a carbon tax we will be just like China without environmental protection.

  • anyone no the acoustic son playin?????

  • Thats incredibly sad.

  • Gold's expensive cause a human's value is far superior to any piece of gold.

  • So you watched this video just to say first post you don't care if people die. So that makes you selfish.

  • No, this is my first time "First comment" I'm actually cares about the vid.

  • Im glad I don't own any gold.

  • Mining in general is destructive to the environment. Gold can be chosen as the blame for this specific example, but the industry as a whole is the concern.

BTW - When the world reserve currency is no longer the US$, there is a big possibility that gold will be some what of the standardized leverage.

Dummy me - liquidated 100% of 2- 401K's into GLT, sold all funds and securities last May and bought gold (760oz) and silver with half it.

Gold price is being suppressed. Won't last forever.

  • me too
