  • The 1989 Flames still the first and last Flames Stanley Cup Championship

  • Wow, what a great calgary team this was, and that's from an oilers fan.

  • Iggy need to win a Stanley Cup nows

  • where is lil fleury, i wanna see him :)

  • YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

  • Lanny leaves the game a Champion, how appropriate. This was also the last game for HoFer Bob Gainey. It's great that Fleury got to win a Cup with all the stuff that he had to overcome in his life. It is hard to believe how young Mike Emrick looks in this video.

  • Good job Calgary! Proud of u (:

  • Can anybody how old Mcdonald was on dat day? honestly he looks like 60years old grandpa

  • @brontimox shut up u fucking hater

  • congrats Lanny....you out of all people deserve it.

  • I'm a Canucks fan but i love watching this.... I mean look at his big bushy mustache how can you not love it <3

  • As a Flames fan I'd like to commend the Habs fans for their class during this historic moment

  • Flame s are the best always the best and always will be the best

i wish i was born to see this

  • Flame s are the best always the best and always will be the best

  • GO FLAMES GO!!!

  • only thing this pathetic franchise has "one".

  • yes they are wasent the forum then in 1928 , and i agree the presedent of the nhl is all pro america wich is killing the nhl but thats what u get when u let the former pres of the nba run something he knows nothing about ,

  • Oh and the Flames aren't the only visiting team to win the Cup in the Forum. The Rangers did it in 1928.

  • Did he say "once he comes down off the glass after trying to shit himself"?

  • to anyone saying Montreal Fans are not the best: Look at this class: standing O for the opposing team, the building stayed full to cheer for the worthy foe.

  • A humiliating scene for the Canadiens and their fans at the Forum! Tant pis baby!

  • Lanny McDonald - pure class

  • 1989 still the Flames only and last Stanley Cup

  • @FRSFreeStateES Better 1 cup then no cup at all.

  • @FRSFreeStateES

Wrong. They won in 2004 in every way except politics in game 6. The NHL would rather try to get southern US teams to win it via boxing style under the table deals than having a legit victory. Same thing in 2006.

  • @Firebomber7

Your welcome to your opinion but the Tampa Lightning are the 2004 Stanley Cup champions

  • @FRSFreeStateES

Just like the former NBA master wanted.

  • @Firebomber7

Again your welcome to your interpretation but you make one good point about the NHL. Which has been Screwing Over Canada for about 20 years now. And Canada might want to think about forming they're own CHL and bring in the 6 canadian NHL Clubs. And expanding to Quebec and Winnipeg.

  • @FRSFreeStateES

Glad to see that you understand me. Look at the disallowed goals in the Calgary and Edmonton finals in 2004 and 2006. Also at Buffalo/Dallas in 1999. The southern teams should NOT have won the way they did. Even guys like Ron McLean have made little comments about it under their breath occasionally. The NHL is trying to push heavily into the south, but I think they are really screwing over Canadian and even northern US teams in the northern, less popular, areas of the US.

  • @Firebomber7

I don't know about those calls but that's not my point. My point has to do with how the NHL has screwed Canadian Markets and they're fans. Canada has lost two clubs to America. I wrote a blog which your welcome to check out. About why I believe Canada should form they're own CHL and take the 6 clubs in Canada.

  • @FRSFreeStateES

I would love to read it. I do not have "hard evidence" for my claims. I just see these coincidences and speculate. I am not the only one, of course. This also is not the first time this sort of thing has happened in professional sports (boxing).

  • @FRSFreeStateES

    One more then the Casucks

  • R.I.P. Pat Burns April 4, 1952 - November 19, 2010 9:12

  • My holy trinity of Sports are American Football, Football, and Hockey. I have 3 hockey teams that I root for. I favorite team are the Detroit Red Wings. The two teams that I have "love"/"man crushes" on are the Calgary Flames (the flaming C, the city of Calgary, the red mile, and the Saddledome...what's more to say), and the New York Islanders (it's because of them I get to see world class hockey from across the NHL). I would love to see you guys win another stanley cup. BURN FLAMES BURN!

  • The Flames had a great team in 1989 but thats still their last Stanley Cup

  • i love the flames

  • what a great way to bookend your career.........to score your 1st NHL goal, 1st & ONLY goal of the playoffs that season, and LAST NHL goal in the same building, way to go Lanny McDonald!!!!!

  • thumbs up this comment if u like the flames

  • @fuzhaojunxiang i gave u a thumbs down just for saying that

  • @meds613 cool cause it was just a stupid joke.

  • @fuzhaojunxiang

I was born 10 years after this, i wish i was born to see this.

  • great vid never saw this one before nice....

  • As a Habs fan, I still come to the conclusion and reality, that the 1988-89 Calgary Flames were a great team and worthy Stanley Cup Champions. I congratulate all of the 23 players and the thousands of Flames fans from Atlanta and Calgary.

  • Thats the only thing good that came from the 80's

  • this is still beautiful

  • min. 0:58 "Dougey Gilmour giving the Crisper the game winning puck...class act.

  • i hate the Habs worst than i hate cheap beer

  • OMG ITS PATRICK ROY!!! lol

  • thats the thing of the flames, there might be a team that never loses at home in regulation like san jose last year the flames were the first one to beat them there a first time for everything but not before the flames do it

  • lol.. wouldnt be so sure of it..

  • GO FLAMES GO!!!

  • Gilmour YOU ROCK

  • I remember this.Lanny Mcdonald was a huge part.Considering how we lost to Montreal in 86.This was SWEET.

I just wish we didn't blow the cup in 2004.Can we get back PLEASE.

    GO FLAMES

  • in my mind the flames did win the cup in '04

  • yeah i no

  • 5:17

That's what it takes to lift it.

  • @poodtang1 No major prick could've battled cancer the way he has. He doesn't have long to go so at least hold that shred of respect for him in your mind.

  • Go to 5:00. Thats the part u want 2 c

  • Jag är släkt med släkten med Håkan Loob :)

  • My 20 year old son was born on this day in Calgary....it was a great day!

  • YEA BABY!

  • Douggggyyyy!!!

  • And for those who are scoring at home, the game winning goal was Gilmours. Then he had the empty net. Lanny's goal was the 2nd of the game.

Green and Lemieux scored for Montreal

Calgary goals were Patterson, Lanny MacDonald, Gilmour and empty net Gilmour.

    Thanks for playing.

  • Stay tuned for Terror Squad

  • First and only Stanley Cup the Habs have lost in the Fourm, no wonder the Flames are still proud!

  • I know, I was talking abt the 1989 team though. Iron Mike is not a bad coach, look what they are doing so far, he has them battling well for the most part of this season. But the one thing abt the Flames they had since 04 is that they never gave in easy, even with the bad players. Not alot of teams can do that on a constant basis.

  • Olli Jokinen is good.

  • didnt have a beard moron

  • You're kidding, right? You're really one to be calling someone a moron. That's classic projection, right there.

  • Lanny McDonald best beard ever
