  • Very impressive. Thanks for the tips & tricks!

  • @ppitstop38 - You are welcome.

  • hi m8 can you approve the video response? i believe you commented on this yourself too btw! check it out.. cya

  • Needs to be edited for 24fps

  • nice! check my film look video too..!! made with Kodak ZI8 with magnetic Lens MOD :) i used Magic Bullet and premiere cs5 for the editing. you'll see it on my channel

  • nice shots, but IMHO my Kodak ZI8 Film look turned out better.. used a lot of effects.

  • If your Intressted in a Zi8 all my real live videos are shot with it.

  • is this cam recommendable for little short films? is it possible to eliminate all the shaking with a tripod?

  • @LuekalanunFerdalan - I have actually seen a couple of music videos and short films online, shot entirely on a Kodak Zi8. And there were quite impressive. And yes, it is possible to eliminate the "shakes" with a tripod, preferably a fluid-head tripod if you need smooth pans and tilts as well. I would recommend a “stedi-cam” for small camcorders, which are now a dime a dozen, and decent lighting for poorly lit areas and night shots. I hope the info helps.

  • @bigdmia yeah thx bro :3

  • @bigdmia Do you have any links of good videos shot with the Zi8?

  • what program do u use to edit the video???

  • @ghettoway809 - Final Cut Express

  • All I gotta say: only film looks like film man.

Get a super 8 camera off eBay and shoot around with that. You'll know what I'm talkin about

  • hey man, good job!

  • whats the name of the song?

under snap loop remix I can't find anything...

  • @ducats - The name of the background music is Snap Loop re-mix. The reason you can't find it... because it is not uploaded online as an audio file. It's a mix of loops I created for my videos.

  • You're gonna be the one that saves me!

  • Thanks for the info.

  • What format does the Zi8 record in?

  • @WhoIsJodaStyles - It records in the .mov format with the H.264 codec

  • To be more precise, here are the details of the encoder

    Video Tracks:

    Ambarella AVC encoder, 1280 × 720, 29.97 fps, 4.61 Mbps

    Audio Tracks:

    MPEG-4 Audio stereo, 48 kHz, 128 kbps

  • nice try man!, as mentioned here, you need to work on your grading and conform the footage to 24p, this is the web so 25 or 30 is fine but again not really the film look, preserve your whites!

  • bro, this is sikwidit! nice tutorial. whats the music instrumental called? can you please email it to me? i would love listening to this while i surf!!

  • m8 you just made the clip darker no DOF at all , very dark, puting 2 black line 1 ontop and other on the botom its not a good idea. after all i ejoyed your video keep them coming. But these I mention must be sorted other wise its not what we call film quality.

  • Ahhhhhh. If you want a real film look, you will not shoot at 60 fps...... no.... never. A real film is 24 fps, - so shoot your footage at 24 fps....... this will give you a motion blur that only film can give you, and then ad all your filters and effects after that.

A 60 fps will never never never never never never give you a film look,- no matter what facking filter you ad......... sorry

  • how much do i have to crop from 4:3 to 2.35?

  • @thibautdieltjens1997 - Cropping a 4:3 footage to 2.35 in Final Cut Express?

Enter the values 21.5 for top and 21.5 for bottom in the crop tool. It is the closest to the 2.35 :1 ratio. I hope this helps.

  • @bigdmia it helps verry much, thanx

  • @bigdmia wich effect do i have to use for the green film look? (+ yes it helped)

  • @thibautdieltjens1997 - I used four filters in FCE

    • 1st filter - RGB Gamma: Red (1), Green (1.10), Blue (1.10)

    • 2nd filter - Proc Amp: Setup (-0.15), Video (-1), Chroma (0.95), Phase (0) ---- duplicate this filter (copy and paste)

    • 3rd filter - Gaussian Blur: Radial (0.5)

TO achieve the green, warm or blue look, try to increase or decrease the Red/Green/Blue in the RGB Gamma settings.

  • the green look is okay but the rest is hmm i don't know. you should preserve the white from getting toned because it will look "dirty" otherwise.

you can see it clearly at the scene with the guitar. the whites are not white but grey. i don't want to be offense. it's just a tip
