  • There ARE kings and queens of Greece. King Leonidas of Sparta; King Alexander of Macedon; Emperor Constantine XA, Palaiologos, to whom this song is dedicated. They are not foreign kings and certainly they are NOT Anglo/German.

  • the bottom line here is they are all greek who defended there faith and would die for there country and everything they stood for. zito oi ellatha!!!! yia panta!!!

  • I have it ritten on a CD.

  • I remember that in my chilhood i used to heard a song about The 'Marmaromeno Basilia'. It was a track from Harris Alexiou...

  • The legend say that while our great emperor was going to die fitting for The City, Agios Georgos and Arxangelos Gavriil abducted him. Both brought him nearby the 'Golden Gate', where they turned his body into marbre and hid it. In our popular believe we are deeply convinced that, when the time will come for us to go on war for the freedom of most of our lost lands, Paleologos will come back to life.

  • (read my reply to rigasgios if possible! thanks!!)

  • this is such a great song! does anyone know anything else about the marmaromeno basilia? If so, please reply back!

  • marmaromenos basilias is the last emperor of the byzantine empire Konstantinos Paleologos Dragatsis and died on 29 May of 1453 defending the capital city of the greek christians Constantinole(now also Instanbul). The legend says that he did not die but he lives like marbled king only to see the city free agian. Throughout the centuries the greeks kept alive the belief of getting it back.

  • thanks for the info!, it's such an interesting story... Do you know of any other sources that mention anything about the marmaromeno basilia, or his ancestry? I've been trying to read up on the whole story behind it, but I'm really interested in the kokkini milia, the xrysoporta, and especially the marmaromeno basilia that seems to be referenced often. If you know of any other songs, poems, or any other greek folklore that mentions it, pass it on! haha, thanks!

  • This is not music... it is heaven itselph!!
