I saw these guys in 1989 touring for the Calm Animals album, at a club in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. great place to see a show, especially a great live band like The Fixx. 22 years later (this past Aug.) saw them in the Poconos, to be That Good for That Many years consistently, I agree they are a Super Group!! They are a FANTASTIC live act. I really believe if all 5 of them had the flu, throwing up, fever you name it, right before going on stage, they would STILL put on a phenomenal show.
The Line up is the same except bass player, Dan K. Brown. The original bass was Charlie Barrett in the very beginning. Cy Curnin-vocals/guitar, Jamie West-Oram-guitar, Adam Woods-drums/percussion, Rupert Greenall-keyboards
This is one of the bright spots of the 1980's.Very underrated to say the least I hope they put out some new stuff soon. Are all the players from the origional line up?
I like this version better than the album - the hi-hats are reduced to quarter notes and the guitar is more prominant --- this totally gives it GROOVE. Sounds more like a band than a studio production. Love it.
I was just thinking exactly the same as bonzelite that the boys actually sound BETTER than ever! Don't take that the wrong way now though boys! You were still mighty fine back in the ol' '80's...
What an incredible song!! to open up with!! Walkabout!! That album is INSANE!!!!! I can't find it anywhere and it is awesome!Chase the Fire is a slow jam that builds up and the bass lines are subtle and mysterious!!! FIXX ROXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Fixx Rock they will take down Modern English,A Flock Seagulls and any other 80s band to ME the Fixx are not a 80s band they are real deal they can play music real well and understand what they whant in there music why do You think they are still playing today better then ever can not what for there New CD for 2008 with Dan K. Brown back on bass Fretless five string cna't what to here there New Stuff.

Walkabout could very well be the Fixx best album ever.
When are they ever going to remaster and re-release it?
Anyone.

this band is actually BETTER today, and they are so fantastic live. I've seen them a few times in the recent past. They are such an excellent band.

the Fixx are a supergroup, they belong among the echelon of Pink Floyd, Supertramp, Duran Duran, Led Zeppelin, the Who, and the Stones.
