The rebel yell is a 3 part yell. A short high pitched yelp, a low pitched bark, followed by a long high pitched yelp. I really liked the battle you did here and it looks very real, with the cannon fire, down to the branches being cut by musket fire! Well done! Wish I was there to be a part of it. This a very good movie and as a re-enactor myself I fought on this very field during the Summer of 62 event held in 2006.

Well the CS lost a lot of soldiers, though they won battles there loses were not much better than the Union in most cases, definition of winning a battle was basically who was dumb enough not to order a withdraw first, that was the style of warfare. Where the CS won battles in Virgina they lost an equal number if not more, Shermans march Georga to Virgina, woods, swamps with very few loses, one CS General said there was no greater army than Sherman's since the Age of Caeser of Rome.

Lee's army won battles, while CS forces in other parts of the war lost a great many battles and had very little success compared to Lee's forces.

Never trust hollywood to give you an accurate portrayal of history.

There is a film on youtube of actual surving confederate soldiers doing the rebel yell at 75th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg in 1938. It's not a yeeehaaaaw.

Gosh u guys WHO CARES. It was a motley collection of screams and crys that made a loud den or roar. Combinations of freight, excitement and Fury. There are a few recordings, all sound different. The "rebel yell" is unique and the southern uniform and the different men who wore them.
